Your jacket shoulder not fit
Brian O'Neill (11 days ago)
The depressing thing with me, is when I buy a suit, I HAVE to go to the tailor. It costs a fortune because I have to factor that in to the original price.
The Style O.G. (11 days ago)
Unfortunately the cost of doing business..

Another tip is you can have the tailor change the buttons if they look cheap. I've seen lots of cheap suits that looked great, but had shit buttons.
The Style O.G. (2 months ago)
Great tip Zombie!
Alexander Ratliff (2 months ago)
Also fix the break and width of the trousers. If they have real skill, ask them to cut button holes in the sleeves, to make them functional.
The Style O.G. (2 months ago)
Break and width will for sure make a difference

Has anyone tried to get a tailor to add real button holes on the sleeves, and redo the lapel button hole? Results?
Jesus escalante (2 months ago)
Something about that tie makes me cringe
The Village Ahead (3 months ago)
Lookin good 👌🏼 Question - how much does the tailoring cost? Good to know when looking for a reasonably priced tailor. 👍🏼👍🏼

I just thrifted a very expensive price tagged double breasted suit. Im not so sure about the fittings because the shoulder feels like half a size too big when i look at the mirrors and the waist side looks quite boxy (as in i cant really see a gap between waist and arm) . Is there anyway to be sure of the shoulder fitting ? I tried the wall lean method and the suit hit the wall first (i can feel the pad moves towards my neck) but not by much , its the “around the same time” feel.
Chan Tak Zee (3 months ago)
Wow , thanks for replying , never thought uploaders actually reply on a one year old video. Maybe I should workout harder to fill that tiny gap in the shoulders eh ?
The Style O.G. (3 months ago)
always make sure the shoulder fits, hardest area to fix..
minekaiju77 (3 months ago)
Tighten up that tie knot

I'll be choosing a suit so slightly bigger because I am weight training. My neck size grew from 16 to 17 and I have to replace some shirts.

Dry clean only 2 a year, sounds ok, but I have a thought - with any clothing item people wash them at least once a week (some crazy ones wash items only after one use). How come for suits it is enough once every 6 months? Just food for thought. Don't they attract dirt/sweat?
Cowboy Hank (6 months ago)
Well for one, suits, made from wool, breathe better than any normal cotton clothing. Secondly, you're always wearing a shirt underneath which absorbs most of the sweat, and your legs don't get nearly as hot as your torso. So basically if you just brush or steam your suit semi-regularly you won't need to dry clean it much at all, especially if you rotate it, in which case years might go by before it's really necessary. You don't really need to wash clothes as much as you think, if they start to get smelly or noticeably dirty, then yes it's obviously time. Judge it, don't base it off some feeling or idea you have.

Bunmi Adefisayo (10 months ago)
That's a $150 suit??? Dang! You're so right on the fit. Fit is king! If a piece of clothing fits you, then it'll look much more expensive than it is... Sometimes. But question though, most cheap suits I've seen are made from polyester or other cheap materials. At least those from stores like Zara and H&M. Where can we get wool suits for less?
The Style O.G. (10 months ago)
the suit I have on actually is wool...got it from Zara a few years back..

Advice from a subscriber.. Get rid of the porn music during your monologue.. it's irritating, loud and it's harder to hear you. Good job though.

I agree with everything you said in this video except one thing "WOOL" is too damn expensive, I have 5 suits , 1 PERRY ELLIS, 1 J FERRAR, and 3 KENNETH COLE. All poly/rayon blend and one with spandex ,all fit well , 1 is a bit more snug then the others but all are great , feel good and I get tons of compliments. Keep up the great work my friend 1 luv from Ohio 🙏🏼

What shoes would you wear a with an all white cheap suit my dude. All white suit is not my thing but it's for my Grandmother's funeral. Just don't know how I should flip it. I get all my suits tailored so in the end, I'm not worried about the suit, just my feet game. Would like to hear your input. Smh....(Can't even believe I'm wearing an all white suit, but it's for Grandma)

No doubt, I found this trick out years ago. For some reason, my dad had an old suit jacket I liked. I don't know the brand name or how much it cost but it was too big even though I liked it. So I took it to the tailor and they made it fit perfect. Then, like the Style O.G, I was short on fund so I measured myself and bought some cheap suit from China off eBay for $150. It fit fine but I wanted a more tailored fit so I got it tailored and people think it cost me hundreds or a few grand. The key also is the tie, you can find top brands for cheap on eBay. I bought a lot for used silk YSL ties about 5 of them for $20. All were in great condition. And lastly getting a spread or wing tip dress shirt tailored is the key and lastly, the accessories such as your cuff links, pocket squares or a nice rose lapel pin will also set it of until you can afford to purchase higher quality suits.

Seems your jacket is slightly too large for you; the right shoulder is acceptable though, but your left shoulder pad is quirky, it bulges up. I had a similar problem with a beautiful tan, synthetic Zara coat, they just failed on the shoulder pad stitching, have heard other's have had it too. If you make a mistake buying a cheap suit, suddenly its not cheap anymore when you have to buy a new one. Great idea, but I've tried, and can't find a good cheap suit. It's unfortunate they don't do made to measure coats.
The Style O.G. (1 year ago)
i would agree the symmetry is off a bit in the shoulders..

Looking sharp, Jeff. Would you recommend wearing both a lapel pin and a pocket square at the same time?
The Style O.G. (1 year ago)
i support one or the other. it also can come off as trying to hard when you wear more than one and i always want your style to appear effortless..
Isuru Nanayakkara (1 year ago)
The Style O.G. I agree. And with my smaller frame, I think it'll be too much for me too. I'll stick with one or the other.
The Style O.G. (1 year ago)
Thanks Isuru! I've seen guys pull off the lapel pin and pocket square at the same time, but it comes off as a bit much to me most times..

That Emerald is money, J. Nice choice. And I've grabbed several linen pinstripe blazers from Zara on clearance. After taking them to my tailor and making some fitting changes, I can't tell you how many people asked me where I got them from. I even had a few people tell me I look like The World's Most Interesting Man! "Stay thirsty, my friends." Blazer $49.99 Tailoring $60.00 The way I looked and FELT after a fresh haircut and my new blazer on.....PRICELESS. Great video!

Rob Phoenix Music (1 year ago)
Great tips OG! As usual, very informative. I think that the shoulders really do give away a cheaper suit, it's just something about them you can kind of pick it out if you've seen a more expensive one. I myself am very frugal when it comes to myself so I try to find good deals on quality pieces. most of the time, my shoes cost more than my whole outfit! lol #SaluteOG

Rob Phoenix Music That’s true although most people are not experts on suits and they won’t notice it. It’s mainly a giveaway at events or places where you know there’s people that know about perfection in suit-styling.
