The most important thing is how to finish your flair routine. You're doing all sorts of stuff, bottles are going all over the place, everyone's sitting there like this watching everything you're doing all in awe, how do you finish, how to you pour the bottle? The last thing you want to do is do all this crazy stuff, and then just take the bottle and go like that, it's anticlimactic, it doesn't work. So what we want to do is we want to learn how to do is Flip to Pour. What you're going to do is you're going to hold your bottle in what's called a bartender grip. Instead of holding it like this, we're going to hold it by the neck just like a bartender would take it out of the bottle or out of their well. What we're going to do is we're going to take our bottle, we're going to take our tin, the mouth is going to face up because that's what we're going to pour it into. We're going to take our bottle and you're going to snap it outward, away from your body, and what you're going to do is as soon as you let go of your bottle you're going to simply open your hand and the bottle is going to fall right back into it. It looks like this, it's really easy actually. It's a one-rotation, you're just going to snap, open, and let the bottle fall into your hand It's already in a pouring position. With your other hand you're going to have your tin set here ready to go. You're going to flip, catch, and you're already pouring the bottle. Then as you get more and more comfortable, you go to glass with liquid in it. Because we're flipping the bottle centrifugal force is involved so we want to make sure that the bottle has less than two ounces, or two ounces or less. Any more than that and this move can't be done, we'd have to figure out a different way to pour. Maybe we could take the bottle and throw it around our head, but in this case what we're going to do is, we're going to take our bottle, our tin, we're going to set it, we're going to flip, and we're going to pour. When you're done you bring your bottle down to cut the pour and then were going to just put our tin on the bar. If we're doing shots maybe we'll pour it straight from a tin into our glass. So again, just to reiterate the concept, we're going to take our bottle, we're going to put our tin here, we're going to flip our bottle, catch our bottle, and pour. When we're ready to stop we're going to simply bring our bottle down, we're going to pour it into our glass or whatever we're pouring it into, and that is how you do a Bottle Flip to a Pour.

Muggy (1 year ago)
you know what else would be anti-climatic if I dropped the bottle doing this

Ok so 2 oz or less. How does this help & how do you know. Lol this is a pointless technique.

Centripical...? Centripetal lol
WhippedSauce (1 year ago)
Cesar Cardenas I know I’m late to the party, but the centre is the point of rotation, not the base of the liquid
Wiscolivin (4 years ago)
@Logan Stone Just taking them to school. 👏
Logan Stone (4 years ago)
Lol! I thought the same thing when he said centrifugal and had to nerd out and check the comments to see if anyone else caught the mistake too. To clarify the difference (if any of y'all care lol)- As the bottle rotates all the liquid rushes to the back. In order to stop the liquid from spilling out the back, the glass must be able to resist the force of the liquid with an equal force. If not glass and liquid would project outward. You then could describe the motion of the liquid as being centrifugal but only after it is no longer contained by the bottle. Since the liquid is being contained by the glass at an equal but opposite force (opposite in this case being towards the axis of rotation, or as some of y'all read, towards the center) it's said that this resisting/pushing force from the bottle is called a centripetal force. This is the same force you experience when you spin a ball attached to a string over your head. Accept in that case the ball behaves like the liquid and the tension in the string provides the centripetal force. If the equation (force=mass x acceleration) has you wondering where the acceleration is if it's spinning at a constant rate... It's said that acceleration in rotational motion is measured from the degree at which the centripetal force is pushing towards the center of rotation, which increases the faster an object rotates. A centrifugal force isn't actually a force, but just a reference to how an object acquired it's velocity ...which would be from a centripetal force. ...but anyways.... Haha best of luck to you and your flair bartending!
Taco (5 years ago)
Centrifugal force is the force that is acting on the object due to the motion of the object, while centripetal force is the force that prevents the object from moving away due to centrifugal force.

Im too scared to break out this move. What if i break the bottle in front of a full bar? It would be embarassing as shit. ....Anybody got any one-liner-saves pre-prepared for such a case?
Red7Sniper (2 years ago)
Ryan Dimes lmao that would be funny
Ryan Dimes (4 years ago)
yeah these guys obviously are on the right track but like you said if you DO happen to break a bottle well if your picture is accurate your a young lady and if your bar isnt some fancy uptight place if i were you id just yell out "what bottle?! look i have boobs!" or something along those lines it would make people laugh hopefully and show that you can just shrug it off and laugh about it yourself
Dorkster81 (5 years ago)
Horrible advice Practice outside of the bar, once comfortable, then start trying it behind the bar, during off times, or when dead. Till u feel comfortable
Josh Gatti (5 years ago)
Dont do it in the bar until you can do it blindfolded, get an empty bottle and duct tape it, just incase you throw it across the room, I have :-)
Dorkster81 (5 years ago)
yes, practice, then up it, and practice, then UP IT and practice Aka, 1st grass, 2nd, confine yourself, 3rd, if you feel really cocky, Over cement.  Also practice behind the bar when SLOW/DOwn time or come in early before open shifts, or when close, and try it a few times.  Everything Requires practice. Practice doesn't Make perfect, PERFECT practice makes PERFECT
Rees473 (5 years ago)
Great move! But what can you do if the bottle has more liquid in?
Rick Allen (5 years ago)
Good question Rees473. I know that, legally, you can't have more than one of the same liquor bottles open at the same time so how can you have one with a low amount like this? You can't fill liquor bottles one from the other either, legally. Any answers?
