Some videos show to BRINE a chicken for 3 hrs or over is that so or does it matter ?

+Daniel Hagerty for about 4 hours, I'll leave it on the counter because it would take that long to come to room temp. I like room temp, then I cook, it cooks more evenly. Overnight, in the fridge for sure!

+Daniel Hagerty this is a great question. If I brine a very short amount of time, I'll add twice the salt, like 1/2 cup. But for 3 hours I'll go down to 1/3 to 1/4. Overnight is the most, because it can get too salty, so then 1/4 cup or less. Any brining, any time, even 1/2 hour is better than not brining. I believe in doing the best with what you got, and if you don't have time, then brine less time. I like the pure salt brine because it's super cheap!

I've never tried cooking chicken soaked in brine. I'm totally going to try this! Just two questions, though - does this turn out too salty? Also, can I add other spices too?

+Rebecca Brand I can't tell you how amazing it turned out!! I also added cracked black pepper and some brown sugar too - Ive never tasted chicken that juicy!! fabulous recipe, the family loved it!! To be honest the very first video I saw on your channel was the cat food one and I wasn't too excited about it - but then I just happened to check out your channel and I was amazed at the amazing collection of recipes you have here. This recipe was a winner - definitely subscribing! Thanks for sharing!

I've never been confident in the kitchen and often avoid cooking where possible. However, after stumbling on this video, I wanted to try roasting a chicken. My only worry (aside from my inexperience) was that the brine would make the chicken too savory. Today I finally roasted a chicken. Not only did we love the the chicken (it's the nicest I've ever had) there wasn't a scrap left on the bone. Thank you for sharing this great recipe. I can't wait to try it again with family.

wow, this is such a good method to make the meat juicy...looks really delicious...i maybe didnt pay enough attention, so i rather ask than make a mistake...how many salt you use to a pound of chicken meat when you brine it? cause i usually just make the chicken legs, my family loves them roasted, and i really wanna make them as juicy as possible :) so your advice would help a lot :) thank you :*
