Stay one step ahead of your stalker with these safety precautions.
Step 1: File a police report
Ask your local police if the harassment meets the legal definition of stalking, which varies from state to state. If it does, file a police report so the stalking is on record. In any event, keep records of the harassment and save all evidence of it.
Step 2: Consider an order of protection
If the stalker is threatening to harm you or has tried to, weigh the pros and cons of getting an order of protection. Most stalkers violate them, but if they do, it will give police a reason to arrest them.
Taking out an order of protection may provoke your stalker to more aggressive behavior, so have a safety plan in place before you get one.
Step 3: Ignore them
Ignore your stalker. If they call, hang up, or set the phone down and let them talk until they hang up. Do not answer their e-mails, texts, or letters. Do not try to reason with them. Assume that any attention you give them will encourage them, and the more you engage with a stalker, the more they'll stalk you.
Step 4: Get a P.O. Box
Get a post office box for your mail. If you move, don't file a change of address with the post office; tell loved ones directly.
If your state has an address confidentiality program, join it. It allows stalking victims to set up a fictitious address to prevent a stalker from gaining access to their address via public records.
Step 5: Set up a fraud alert
Put a fraud alert on your credit reports by contacting the fraud department of each of the three main credit bureaus – Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. This will help prevent your stalker from harassing you via identify theft because you'll be asked to verify any attempt to take out credit in your name.
Step 6: Spread the word
Tell everyone in your life – friends, relatives, neighbors, and co-workers – that you are being stalked so they are not tricked into divulging information about you.
Step 7: Get help
For more information, contact the Stalking Resource Center at 1-800-FYI-CALL or check out their web site at ncvc.org/src.
Did You Know?
Men are more likely to stalk their exes, while women tend to stalk acquaintances with whom they'd like to have a relationship.
I feel so sorry for you! There are a lot of different self defense techniques you can use to ensure your safety and ease of mind. Just give him an uppercut and the next day when people question him, maybe he will treat women better. Apparently men are the bigger a********.
My best friend said " ----- was looking through my window while I was eating chips. " she mentioned that she was wearing a baggy shirt with no pants but she said the chip bowl is a censor. I'm worried he will find me
You can get in severe trouble for stalking anyone, it does not only have to be individuals, if you're stalking a local business or a company, that can get you in trouble too. As for the fact, companies and established businesses can also file restraining orders or report stalking as well as requesting for a protection order.
How to protect yourself from a stalker:
PRINCIPAL RULE: Don't dress showing your belly, just like the thumbnail... At least don't do it that much unless you're going to dance. Showing lots of skin constantly in the street, may provoke people
or if u want extra protection join a gang and move to the hood... Did you know:that stalkers will not stock the victim because if they in the hood because theres thugs constantly posted up on the block💪🔫
Hi people and happy planet. I represent to suggest to give people the chance for a relationship and tolerate also their lifes to see a day with it. More protection for the male side in the West and for Female in the East. Stalking or not, every way of thinking has a good side and a bad side, it depends on the meaning. But i know that the people keep me f -up and don't listen to me. But don't be surprised about your responsibility for the results and concequences. Meanwhile thanks for reading.
I got stalked by someone called Tom...
He was a scary white male.
He had yellowish-green eyes...
He was always trying to get my attention by making sounds...
And that's the story of my hungry cat. All he wanted was some food. :D
I am a male and a female that worked for me held me at knife point. Feloney trial is expected. In the mean time I am being followed in a threatening manor and this person was released from jail under the agreement that she is not to have any contact with me. While she has not made any verbal or written contact, is this still considered stalking?
@youtube commenter or something like that Affirmative. I don't know exactly what she wanted to do.
Supposedly a male will stalk a female he has been in a relationship with and he was rejected or breakup. Women stalk males when they have never been in a relationship but want to be, and often after being rejected. At least this is what I have found reading up on it.
TRUST ME I KEEP EVERYTHING RECORDED ALSO TWO HIGH CALIBER FIREARMS AND WILL NOT HESITATE TO USE THEM ALSO I HAVE LET JUST ABOUT ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY (IN THE USA AND ABOARD) ABOUT IT AND WHO IS BEHIND IT IN MY CASE ITS GANGSTALKING AND THOSE BEHIND IT ARE FROM MY OLD NEIGNBORHOOD I HAVE CAUGHT HER AND HER CHILDREN STALKING ME WITH THEIR VARIOUS FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS THEY HAVE ALSO USED KIDS AND TEENAGERS TO STALK ME AS WELL I HAVE LET LAWENFORCEMENT KNOW AS WELL IN BOTH STATES I HAVE BEEN STALKED IN I KEEP VERY DETAILED RECORDS IN MY PHONES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES, THEY STICK OUT LIKE A SORE THUMB I KNOW THE PEOPLE THAT THEY USE THEY TRY AND CONFUSE ME BY USING WHITE LOOKING HISPANICS I AM ON TO THEM AND I CARRY MY FIRMARMS EVEN OUT TO THE GARBAGE DUMP WITH A HAND ALWAYS CLOSE TO MY WEAPONS! I HAVE PUT UP WARNING BUT THEY CONTINUE TO STALK ME SO NOW I WILL GO A STEP FURTHER!!!
I was accused of stalking but I told them I was stopping the stalker I was not stalking. I stopped him because I knew him it took awhile and I told her about him and now I stand between him getting to her.
step 1: walk around at night with weapons heres the weapons you need nerf gun, knife, katana, sniper and rocket launcher
step 2: if your stalker breaks in shoot them and open their guts with a katana and knife they might start screaming and die very quickly
step 3: if you don't wanna use a katana or knife use a shotgun and shoot their heads
+Ulrik Johansson but you can't generalize just because some people don't want to harm you. The entire premise is that someone who is okay with stalking you and following you and invading your privacy probably isn't going to be easy to talk to. Like I said you are not an expert so please stop giving out harmful advice. And no matter what country anyone lives in, if they're in a dangerous situation they should seek help from an expert. You don't ask a plumber about robberies and you don't ask a cop about gardening. You ask them about what they know and about what they were trained for. You're the one acting like a jerk saying all I care about is having a gun but no one mentioned a gun. You clearly have no idea what I'm trying to say but it's your idiotic ideas that get innocent people killed every day.
@Julie Herrera It is definitely worth doing a confrontation since it can decrease his stalking. You are talking very weird, as if every stalker in the Usa has the intention to shoot you and/or harm you. Far from everyone has that intention. And with some males and girls with you when you confront the stalker, that will make the confrontation feel safe. A such confrontation is in general not dangerous. If you want a gun with you then fine, but in general im sure a gun isnt needed.
You Julie, has excessive fear.
Besides im not talking only to the Usa, im talking to the whole "world". Every country doesn't have guns allowed like the Usa.
The buddy system isn't the solution to everything you know. This is dangerous advice to give someone, you are not an expert and options one and two are exactly the same. Go read a book, live a little and come back when you know how dangerous a situation is when one confronts a person who has bad intentions for them. What part of there is a disconnect from reality in a stalkers mind do you not get? You cannot reason with the unreasonable and this is what makes a stalker dangerous. They will transgress all boundaries, legal or not, wanted or not until they get what they want. Giving it to them on a platter or confronting their disconnect with reality can cause them to become extremely violent and could lead to an escalation of behavior, this is why so many cases of stalkers end in murder. Don't give anyone advice on a dangerous situation unless you're an expert on it, because if you're not you're just going to be doing a lot of assuming and that lack of knowledge could be the difference between a good or bad ending. This is why people who are being stalked should go to the police and speak to them. They are trained in stalker behavior and identifying whether or not a stalker will escalate and how to effectively deal with one. Don't be that guy on the Internet telling people how to do something when you don't know what you're saying bro.this is some serious stuff and you're giving seriously unenlightened advice. Shush up.
@Julie Herrera 1-if you dont know your stalker you could confront him with some guys that are with you when you do it.
2- if you know the one who is stalking you, you could choose to confront him yourself or choose to do it with some guys that are with you.
stalking is defined by the obsession an individual has towards another person that crosses the boundaries of the acceptable and legal, that. May make the victim feel threatened and robs them of their privacy and sense of safety. Some stalkers escalate and try to meet you in person, others will send letters cards and flowers and be content from the sidelines until the victim somehow does something to aggravate the stalker and this could be canceling a meeting or having a boyfriend or moving away.
