Is the paper safe (toxin free) to put in the microwave? I already hate using microwaves , but will try this if its safe!
Rebecca Brand (3 months ago)
Yes, it is toxin free, paper towels are great! Super, thanks for writing! Love it!

I'm always scrambling to use the last of the old potatoes before they totally hatch. Thanks for being clear about the root growths, I hadn't been aware of that. I'll be sure to remove them before cooking. Nice job!

Hi, sweet adorable Rebecca. Your potato looks so pretty, just like you. What's your best tip for filling up an Easter basket? I wish you a very lovely Easter, sweet adorable Rebecca. Never stop believing in dreams, beautiful. <3

I'm eavesdropping, I'll admit, but I had to laugh when I thought about all the grass I'd have to start with. There seems to be quite a stash on hand on the homefront here, in fact!
Rebecca Brand (7 months ago)
thank you dear Byron! so glad you like this recipe. Gosh, Easter baskets... lots of grass to start, then healthy choices as well as the chocolate! You know, art projects put in are fun too! Happy Easter!

Oh, and I have a veggie scrubber brush too. Not sure what that commenter was thinking below. "Typical Blondes" have rocked some serious stuff in this world. ;) Subscribed.

Thanks for a quick helper for dinner. I can totally cook, but after a long day my brain is fried. I have roasted chicken and tabbouleh in the fridge and a bag of redskins - just needed someone to tell me what to do so I don't have to think anymore today haha :) Great job! :)

Nice technique.  Going to try it tonight.
randolph patterson (4 months ago)
I tried one for the first time in the microwave just last night, and didn't wrap it at all. It turned out pretty doggone good! I'm gonna try one wrapped in dry paper towels in a minute, then in a while I'll try one with wet towels. Gotta know these things, right?
Elle (3 years ago)
+RebeccaBrandRecipes Have I been doing my microwave potatoes wrong all along? I learned to wrap the potatoes in wet paper towels, to help generate moisture. They always tasted good to me! I'd like to know your thoughts. Thanks!
Timothy Durden (3 years ago)
+RebeccaBrandRecipes Fantastic!  I'll probably never go back to the oven.  Thanks for the instructions.

No .......Thank You!.. I did not know that you could cook red skin potatoes so fast and this good..I am Hooked for life.

Rebecca you are trying to clean potatoes with a scouring brush. Do you not realise that there are more germs in a kitchen than a toilet? Yet you used that to clean potatoes with, it would have been cleaner to have washed them after cleaning your hands and then scrubbing the potatoes with your hands. Typical blonde,
randolph patterson (4 months ago)
So, you're coming here and offering disparaging anecdotes, without citing a shred of evidence for your lurid assertions, and so far you've clearly contradicted yourself at least once in your own comments. Then you pretend to be some kind of master chef, stooping to administering to all the poor, misguided souls who've obviously never seen fire or vegetables. You must be a riot at the office cookout.

some one needs a hug Pointing at you Mark pointing at you
Clyde Rembrandt (2 years ago)
+Mark Norville That's only if she brings meat into the kitchen.
Elle (3 years ago)
+Mark Norville I daresay you don't know the first thing about cleaning properly. And true to form, in just the couple of comments I've read of yours, you are a complete misogynist.

Dear Rebecca, your father is from Nebraska? I have a question out of Interest: did your Family move from Nebraska to SB when you were a child or did you move there when you were grown up all alone? Why did you move? Job? University? Boyfriend? My best, Anja from Germany
John Karavitis (4 years ago)
5 minutes per pound at max power level seems a lot more manageable than other recipes I've seen.  So, you can make enough baked potatoes in the microwave for a family of four in less than 20 minutes, say?  Electricity-wise, is this more efficient than baking in an oven? John V. Karavitis EDIT:  Red potatoes, or any kind of potato?

Love microwave baked potatoes. Thanks for the tips on using paper towels and the amount of time to cook them Rebecca. I can make a meal out this. Do you ever make any fish dishes?
