New Sub here ... I Love the Lolita romantic dresses, would love to have one. They also remind me of the victorian-style nightgowns that were used in alot of Dracula movies i saw when I was young. When I got married in 1979, all I could picture in my head was an 1890's / 1900's type dress, off-white,high Victorian neckline, longsleeves, tight bodice, long flowy full skirt. I knew exactly, what I didn't know, was HOW to find it. Back then they sold prom dresses at K-Mart ( kind of like Wal-Mart now ) we didn't have much money, so we really couldn't afford to buy a real wedding dress, but they always have a few white Prom dresses, so I hoped I'd find something , I asked my mom to go with me, it was the 1st time she had gone shopping with anyone for a wedding dress since she had gone shopping for her own, so it was a very special day for us. I had told her what I was thinking about, and we both knew That Would be impossible, but still hoped I could find something nice, since it was Prom season. Well, we walked over, found my size, and the 1st dress I saw was Exactly what I was looking for, the only thing I didn't like was the buttons on the bodice, but EASY FIX ! the dress was ivory chiffon and lace, it was soo perfect, and it was $ 44.99 ! I don't know who answered my prayer that day, but am forever grateful. I have always loved the flowy-type full skirt dresses, like you see in old musical/dancing type movies. I guess that's why I love the Lolita dresses so much.I love dresses especially full swingy skirts. I really enjoyed this vid. You looked beautiful in all the dresses ! I did find a Lolita style dress on line, but not in my size, unfortunately, cause I would have bought it, of course i have no place to wear it too, but I would have worn it here at home for my husband, he would have loved it. I am still looking, hoping I can find maybe a nightgown like the ones in Dracula, I have found a couple, but they cost sooo much. I keep checking thrift shops, probably my best chance
Before I rant, I want to say that the dress is lovely and nicely designed! And here I go, just bringing some awareness about the Lolita fashion...
Lolita is based off of the concept of making young girls look innocent, pure, and doll-like for the attention and attraction of grown men. There is history and psychology behind this, and though the fashion itself is cute and trendy, it still stems from a dark and twisted pedophilic fantasy. Let’s not be naïve about this. And no, I’m not trying to trash the Lolita fashion, because obviously I like it too. To me it’s beautiful, decorative, detailed, gentle, elegant, and cute, but it’s also sexualized 50% of the time (possibly more). Japan also has a problem with sexualizing young girls, which is why they market high school kids in their current pop culture. Anyhow, not all fashion industries aim for this, but Lolita has its roots and is still used in a ‘fantasy’ way today.
How do you get contacted to amazing photo shoot sites and connections to this pathway of modeling, specifically to Lolita fashion. Do you have like an agency to get you in touch to do this or...? Regardless, your photos came out amazing and seeing it from this video, the process seems so breathtaking!
The dedication and detail really is something else and love the patience and techniques used doing this type of photo shoot sitting. Beautifully displayed and great use of minimalising the camera usage but with that perfect one taken xx
wait no, she messed up, lolita is a cute touch to it. not a modest. the victorian style was already modest and feminine. she messed that detail up. lolita fashion litterally is just victorian dresses made in a cute girly fashion. thats litterally all it is.
other then that the girl in the video did a beautiful job and im not surprised anyone would want to book her.
