Let's decipher some common dress codes. 1. White tie White tie means a white bow tie. It's usually made of Marcella cotton and the coat you wear with it is a tail coat, meaning it goes all the way down to the back of your knees. It makes you look supremely elegant and stylish. 2. Black tie Traditionally, gentlemen in England would always wear white tie for dinner but they had very stiff shirt fronts and some found that to be uncomfortable. Eventually, a younger generation wanted something that was softer and that's how the tuxedo or black tie evolved. 3. Evening wear or formal evening wear Either white tie or black tie. In all fairness, most people today will only expect black tie from you because especially in the US, white tie is hardly ever worn. 4. Black tie optional or black tie invited.Instead, you can just wear a dark suit in either gray, charcoal, or navy. You can wear it with a tie or a bow tie and ideally, a white dress shirt. 5. Creative black tie. It's supposed to be a little more whimsical and relaxed. You could either do that by changing up your bow tie. You can get a jacket that's velvet or has that certain distinct pattern. 6. Day wear or formal day wear, that means a traditional morning coat which is usually worn with cashmere striped trousers, a dove grey vest or waistcoat,. 7. Semi-formal. Smply means dark suit, white shirt, tie, black shoes and dark socks. 8. Festive attire or holiday attire. Can mean anything from an ugly Christmas sweater to a dressed up velvet jacket with a tartan waistcoat. 9. Dress code business attire or business formal. Can either be a dark suit either single breasted or double breasted, sometimes even with a vest which makes it more formal, dark or black shoes, a conservative tie, either a small print, nothing loud, nothing too colorful, and a white or light blue shirt. 10. Business casual. On a very basic level, it means, no suit but also no jeans. 11. Dressy casual. It's very similar to business casual. 12.Smart casual or smart chic usually implies a nice pair of jeans or chinos or khakis paired with a dress shirt. 13. Cocktail attire. More vibrant and more unusual so rather than having navy blazer, you can maybe go with herringbone jacket, could be a combination, could be a more funky suit, could be a louder tie, a pocket square, some bolder accessories. 14. Casual and mainstream casual. That means you can wear jeans, any kinds of slacks, maybe even shorts paired with sneakers, boat shoes, or loafers. 15. Casual chic is basically an in between business casual and casual. 16. Golf attire 17. Resort attire. 18. Beach formal is often very popular for beach weddings. 19. Lounge suit. Simply wear a regular two piece or three piece suit. 20. Preppy chic.Usually, it's naval inspired with bold colors and patterns. 21. Executive casual dress code. _________________________________________________________________ Most Popular videos: How to accept a compliment - https://youtu.be/_EKXNmM1PUo 101 things that change when you dress up - https://youtu.be/JyGDd_iYaCI How to tie a Bow Tie - https://youtu.be/2I3cfa0BOOc _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Want to stay updated? Wedding Guest Etiquette - DO's & DON'Ts of Behavior & Manners at Weddings

08:13
Check out our written Wedding Etiquette DO's & DON'Ts guide, here: https://gentl.mn/wedding-guest-etiquette SHOP THE VIDEO: Dark Bronze Madder Silk Pocket Square with Diamond Motif and Paisley - https://gentl.mn/2sNPUZp 00:52 Do RSVP in a timely manner. The wedding couple and the entire team has spent a lot of time, money, and effort to plan this whole event and they want to know as soon as possible who they can expect at their event. 01:28 Don't ask to add guests to an invitation. If the invitation says plus one, you can bring another person, not three others. If it says plus family, it means you can bring your family. 02:10 Do respect the dress code. If the invitation has a dress code, follow it. Popular dress codes for weddings include cocktail attire, black tie or black tie optional. If the invitation does not state a dress code, you should definitely ask the wedding couple. 02:46 Do buy a gift from the registry or give them cash. Nobody's interested in your self-knitted blankets, your old vases, or your hand me down glasses. 04:18 Do go with the flow. Chances are the bride and groom made lots of plans and this is the time for you to relax, just sit back, enjoy and go with the flow. 04:34 Don't be greedy at an open bar. In most cultures, if you're invited to a wedding, that means you're not expected to pay for anything and everything is included. In the US, however, it's not uncommon to have a cash bar where guests are expected to pay for alcoholic beverages. 05:09 Do drink in moderation. It's great to have a drink and relax and be jolly but it's not okay to have eight drinks and be totally drunk and pass out and maybe puke into the corner. 05:38 Don't encourage over consumption of others. That means, don't buy shots, not for the groom, or anybody else, and this is not a frat party, this is a wedding. 05:52 Do leave the drama at home. This is not the time to rehash old stories or disputes. 06:04 Don't embarrass the wedding couple by trying to be the center of attention. That means as a woman, do not wear a white dress, that's reserved for the bride. Same as the men, don't wear shiny dinner jackets, or big boutonnieres, or top hats as the guest because that's not about you, it's about them. 06:24 Don't arrive late or leave the event early. If you have major other conflicts with your schedule and you can't make it work, simply don't attend. 06:44 Do say goodbye to the bride and groom in person. It is their day and yes, they don't have time to spend an hour and talking to all their guests. 07:22 Do plan a safe ride home if you had a few drinks. Do not drive yourself. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most Popular videos: How to accept a compliment - https://youtu.be/_EKXNmM1PUo 101 things that change when you dress up - https://youtu.be/JyGDd_iYaCI How to tie a Bow Tie - https://youtu.be/2I3cfa0BOOc --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? Table Manners - Ultimate How-To Guide To Proper Dining Etiquette For Adults & Children

Shadow Stripe Ribbed Socks Light Brown and Blue - https://gentl.mn/2F6TeRR #tablemanners #diningetiquette #notsponsored Table manners are actually something your parents taught you but are actually far more important as an adult. First of all, your table manners speak volumes about your refinement and it's often interpreted as a sign of character. It's not at all about being snobby or showing off but much rather show respect, your host and your dining partners will greatly appreciate your manners. It's very important to keep in mind, proper table manners aways help you and never hurt you. The good thing is they can be learned and its never too late to do so. So what are table manners? I suggest you turn your cell phone ringer off when you enter someone else's home and put your phone in your pocket when you're with the guests. Don't leave your phone on the table because you are much more likely to pick it up and look at it which is impolite In the presence of other people. If the table is all set, you don't just walk in and sit down. Wait to be seated or wait for the queue of the host, or if they sit, you can sit as well. Ideally, want to sit up straight but comfortably, don't slouch, or cross your arms, or sit as you would on your couch while watching a football game. Don't expect to sit next to your partner and follow the lead of the hosts. Traditionally, couples were always mixed up to sit with different people. If there's a napkin on the plate or next to a plate, put it on your lap right away. If the host or hostess wants to say grace, accept the gesture for what it is and move along. Two, let's take a look at the place setting. In the Western world, an informal place will always have at least a plate, a knife, and a fork. If dessert will be served, you'll find either a little fork or a spoon on the top side of the plate. If soup is served or anything else that requires a spoon, you will also have a spoon. On the top right of the plate, you'll likely find a water glass which is always filled and a wine glass which is empty, to begin with. Sometimes you also find beer glasses; if you prefer that, if that's what's served with a meal. If you see little plate with an extra knife on a top left to your plate, that's for bread and butter. When you're done with the course, you place the fork and a knife at a four to five o'clock angle that means you're done. Three, now it's time to serve the food. Most informal dinners are family-style meaning there are bowls or platters where food is served from. For formal dinners, courses are usually plated but we talk about the intricacies of that in our formal dining etiquette video here. With bowls and anything at the table, the cardinal rule is, don't reach over anybody else and don't touch them. To start, pass the bowl around the table from the left to the right when you get the bowl you hold it and you serve yourself then you pass it on to your neighbor on the right. Always use the serving utensils and never your silverware that's on your place setting. Of course, if the host or hostess has a different idea, go with what they do. Four, finally it's time to eat. You should only start eating when everyone else has been served and a host or hostess starts to take their fork and take the lead. It is very impolite and sometimes even rude to just dig into your plate of food while the others are still empty-handed. #tablemanners #diningetiquette #notsponsored --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? How To Choose A Wedding Band Ring

Click here to check out our in-depth written guide on wedding band rings: https://gentl.mn/how-to-choose-wedding-band-ring SHOP THE VIDEO: 1. Red Spray Rose Boutonniere - https://gentl.mn/2rLehqR Now, I don't know your taste and it may be very progressive but from what I can tell, a classic band stands the test of time and chances that you won't like them anymore after a few years are very little. For example, I'm wearing here a simple yellow gold 14k band with a milgrain edge and it's accidentally the same style my wife's grandfather wore and he got married in 1946. The most popular material for wedding rings is yellow gold. It's very classic and the best combinations are 14k or 18k because the have the right gold look but they are not too soft otherwise, you'll see the scratches. Gold itself, a 100% gold is very soft and so if you go over 18k which is 75% of gold, it's just not perfect for wedding rings. Traditionally, if you didn't like gold, which was rarely the case, people went for silver. Specifically 925 sterling silver or 950 or 800 silver. Now, while I like it for pinky rings, I do not like silver for a wedding band because it's softer and it shows scuffs much more easily. Back in the day, the alternative used to be platinum or white gold. Platinum is a different material than gold and it's usually more expensive because it's also harder to work on it. White gold is quite popular these days and if you like the silver look, it's a valid alternative to a yellow gold or maybe even a rose gold. Now, these are the basic classic materials you can wear for wedding rings and I suggest you stick with them because they've proven that they work, they last, and they don't lose their value. I suggest you go with something maybe 4mm or 5mm because it gets bigger, yes it can look more masculine but it can also be more difficult to get the ring onto your finger and it can be less comfortable when you wear it. In terms of finishes, you can go with shiny finish that is polished, it's probably the most classic one. You can get something that's hammered which is unusual, or ou can get that milgrain edge, the one I'm wearing personally, or you can get something that's really matte which is hardly ever seen. So one question I get asked a lot is "Do I have to match the metals of my wedding band to the rest of my outfit?" I say no, you don't have to. Don't stress out about it. Your wedding ring is a part of you and if you can match it, great! If not, that's okay too. So what are the wedding ring dont's? To me, the number one rule is not to go with unusual materials such as wood, tungsten, cobalt, titanium, rubber, and so forth. They just won't stand the test of time and chances are you'll just won't like the look of them down the line. Second, don't go with finishes that are highly unusual such as blackened or matted, or edged, or acid treated because chances are, it'll just look dated very soon. Rule number 3 is don't go with anything that's wider than 8mm because it's just way too big. Rule number 4, do not add diamonds to your ring because it's just very flashy and it makes you look like a pimp. Number 5, avoid designer brands. The wedding band is a very classic thing. You can find them from jewelers and it's more about the weight, the specific design, and the right size for your finger. The designer simply adds a markup to the ring that does not add additional value to your comfort or looks. Rule number 6, definitely avoid adjustable rings. That's something from a gumball machine and it's really the cheapest of the cheap and since this is a wedding ring, you want something that's quality. $100 Suit vs $1000 Suit - Differences Between Cheap & Expensive Suits - Gentleman's Gazette

12:10
for More go to https://gentl.mn/suit-differences-full-guide #suits #notsponsored #gentlemansgazette In this video, we highlight the key differences between a $100 dollar suit and a $1000 dollar suit and explain to you what you have to look for so you get the best value for your money. First, let's focus on the $100 dollar suit. Basically, it is a completely machine-made suit that is sewn together in 2-3 hours max and there is no handwork whatsoever. When it comes to suits, hand sewing is better because it is more flexible and it adapts to your body more easily and so especially for a jacket, you always want more handwork. A $100 dollar suit is made of very cheap fabric and cheap lining, that means, it's usually stretched polyester with nylon or other artificial fibers. Also, the raw materials may be cotton or wool that go into that fabric are of the lowest quality possible. It simply is stiffer, less comfortable, and you're more prone to sweating in it. A $100 suit has a glued interlining. So, what exactly is interlining and why do you use it? When you start out with fabric, you have a two-dimensional surface, in order to keep it in a three-dimensional shape, you need a second layer and the layer needs to be attached in a certain shape. For the $100 suit, this interlining is of very low quality and is glued to the fabric, that works in the beginning but it also acts as an insulator so you're much more likely to overheat and sweat. Another aspect of a $100 suit is the lack of attention to details. For example, the buttonholes are first sewn and then cut not the other way around that means you see some fraying. Also, the trimmings are usually low-quality, the buttons are plastic, the lining is polyester, and everything is made to remain low on the cost side but it also means low on the quality. The cut of a $100 suit can in theory, be as good as the on of a $1000 suit or a more expensive suit but in practice, that's really rarely the case. More often than not, $100 suits are either very fashion-forward, with very skinny lapels and you can only wear them a year max, before they go out of fashion or they're simply old-fashioned and the cut is boxy and bulky and simply not favorable. Another pet peeve of mine is the deep-cut armhole that restricts your movement and $100 suits usually have this 90% of all cases. In recent years, it has changed a little bit, sometimes they have adopted more modern cuts and they try to go with details such as working buttonholes, but in reality, they still use cheap buttonholes and it still looks cheap. The time that goes into a thousand dollar suit can range from 8 hours to 30 hours so that's obviously a huge difference and you will also be able to feel that. Generally, a thousand dollar suit show some amount of handwork. Sometimes, they have decorative elements like hand-sewn buttonholes that look really nice, they use a silk thread that is shiny or a cotton thread, they may have machine-made buttonholes but it looks nice. They may have an interlining that is sewn in hand or a collar which makes it softer and fit better and make you look better. The biggest advantage of a thousand dollar suit over a hundred dollar suit is the interlining and the construction. Where the $100 suit has a glued interlining, the $1000 suit has a half canvas or full canvas interlining. A half canvas is actually sewn to the fabric and it's usually made of materials such as horsehair or cotton or wool and that way, it's more breathable so you don't overheat. To save on cost, this form of interlining is only used on the upper part of your body such as your chest and it's glued at the bottom part of your jacket. Full canvas means that the interlining is sewn throughout your jacket and it's the best version you can get. At a thousand dollar price point, usually, these canvases are made by machine and not by hand. This little secret has helped me save a lot of money and to get quality suits. When I walk into a store and look at suits, the first thing I do is I flap up the collar and look at the stitching. If it is machine-sewn, I move on especially at a vintage store. If it's hand-sewn, I take the jacket off and take a closer look. I do this because a hand-sewn collar indicate a very high quality. If the collar is hand-sewn, chances are, it's a high-quality garment and it deserves a second look and you can use the hallmarks I described in this video to identify if you should buy it or not. ======================================= To never miss any of our videos again, sign up here for free: https://gentl.mn/1TyIECO Want to see more videos? How Many Men's Dress Shirts Do You Really Need?

13:29
How many dress shirts should a gentleman really have? https://gentl.mn/how-many-dress-shirts-do-you-need You can shop the accessories in this video here: https://gentl.mn/2BwuXrM #dressshirts #mensshirts #notsponsored So as a general guideline, how many shirts should you invest in when you're starting out and you're interested in a classic wardrobe? I would say ten is the bare minimum. so first of all the basics, I think every man should invest in ten dress shirts if they have somewhat of a use for dress shirts on a regular basis and you can check out which first those are in this video here. If you wear shirts to the office 10 is actually the bare minimum. I suggest having more like a three or four-week rotation which means 15 or 20 dress shirts. Personally, I'm a big fan of pastel-colored shirts, light greens, or lavender, or yellow, but typically that's something you should add on top of the ten basics. If you don't have to wear a dress shirt to work and you don't like wearing dress shirts, I suggest you have at least three dress shirts that you can always rely on. One is a white dress shirt ideally with French cuffs for cufflinks without a chest pocket and it's something that you can wear for anything from a job interview to a funeral to a wedding or any kind of other formal events. If you don't have cufflinks or you don't want to invest money in them, go with a single barrel cuff which is also known as a button cuff. If you want to invest in cufflinks I would suggest you get one pair in gold and one pair in silver in a very traditional style without any diamonds or colored stones. Personally, I would choose a monkey fist knot cufflink because they're versatile, they're classic, and it's something you could wear with any kind of outfit. If you know that you attend black-tie events sometimes it also pays to invest in a tuxedo shirt. The second must-have dress shirt you need even if you hardly ever wear dress shirts is a check shirt. Ideally, you get it with a button-down collar because it's more casual and you don't need to wear it with any form of neckwear and for that, you definitely want to have barrel cuffs or button cuffs and you can also have a chest pocket if you want. The third shirt I think you should invest in is a denim shirt because it can really help to dress down other things, you don't have to iron it, it's something that is popular right now, and has been popular for the last few years. It's soft, it's hard wearing, and it's something that works well in the wardrobe.   On the other hand, if you're a collector, a classic menswear enthusiast or simply a clothes horse, the sky is really the limit. Obviously, that's me and you can have just 10 shirts that are all in white but they can have different cuff styles, different collar styles, different weaves, different front plackets, different buttons, and all those little details make the shirts different and suited for different occasions. Of course, at this point, storage can be a challenge and basically, you can fold them and put them in drawers but I find that it takes up a lot of drawers and so I hang all of my shirts on specific shirt hangers that are not too wide so they don't take up too much space in my wardrobe. Personally, I use the ones from Butler luxury which served me quite well and match my much wider suit hangers. So once you have all the basics covered, I suggest you go with pastel colors. Pastel pink, pastel lavender, green, you can have other shades that are combining those colors and just play with things. One color that's really underrated in men's dress shirts, in my opinion, is a subtle green. You can also add different kinds of patterns such as maybe a small houndstooth shirt or maybe a horizontal striped shirt or maybe stripes in an unusual color such as this one in kind of a light charcoal and yellow. Of course, you can also experiment with different fabrics and different weights as well as finishes and on top of that, playing with a collar shape is probably the detail that has the biggest impact because it defines the V shapes and the triangles that lead to your face. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? 7 Best Clothing Color Combinations for Men | Color Matching Guide

09:25
Curious about which colors to wear? Want to know how to mix and match colors like a pro, so you can create cool outfits without stressing about it? This video is for you! Fit may be the most important aspect of style, but color is a very close second, especially for shorter men. Here's one of the most common questions I get from men under 5'8″ who want to start dressing better: “What colors and color combinations should I wear?” It's an important question, and the answer can be complicated. In fact, I did a full presentation about color – including skin tone and contrast – that you can watch right here: COLOR WEBINAR: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vRKFWxJaU4 But if you want to skip the complicated, theoretical stuff and get some quick, actionable advice about color, you're in the right place. In this video, you'll learn about seven color combinations that are perfect for shorter men (or anyone who wants to maximize their perceived height). #1: Blue + Grey #2: Blue + Green #3: Black + Burgundy #4: White + Tan #5: Green + Brown #6: Grey + Brown #7: Brown + Black — PHOTO CREDITS ▪ Ethan Wong → https://www.instagram.com/ethanmwong/ ▪ Alex Crawford → https://www.instagram.com/alexcrawfordphoto/ ▪ Denny623 → https://www.instagram.com/denny623/ ▪ Dressed to Ill → https://www.instagram.com/dressedtoill/ ▪ The Tie Guy → https://www.instagram.com/thetieguy/ ▪ The Dirty Inc. → https://www.instagram.com/thedirtyinc/ — ALL MY OUTFITS → http://www.themodestman.com/outfits/ — SHOP THE VIDEO ▪ Shirt → http://fave.co/2svPF2t ▪ Phone → http://geni.us/dS0UKD3 — MY GEAR ▪ Canon T6i → http://geni.us/4kSX ▪ Laptop → http://fave.co/2hgKaDF ▪ Laptop stand → http://fave.co/2vQwBj3 ▪ Lens #1 (50mm) → http://geni.us/OiE9 ▪ Lens #2 (10-18mm) → http://geni.us/qgGQckE ▪ Lens #3 (24mm) → http://geni.us/x61A ▪ Lav mic → http://geni.us/ZBlvGh ▪ Desk mic → http://geni.us/wCdS7t2 — YOUTUBE MUSIC → https://goo.gl/UhwtMb — STYLE GUIDES ▪ Free E-Books → http://mdst.mn/guide-pack ▪ Premium Guide → http://mdst.mn/tmmsg — FOLLOW ME ▪ Podcast → http://fave.co/2vej94M ▪ Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/modestmanstyle/ ▪ Twitter → https://twitter.com/modestmanstyle ▪ Facebook → https://www.facebook.com/modestmanblog/ ▪ Private Group → https://www.facebook.com/groups/modestmen — Contains affiliate links // Stay stylish!

How to Get Ready for a Date

Learn how NOT to feel anxious on your first date: https://gentl.mn/date-night-etiquette SHOP THE VIDEO: 1. Shadow Stripe Ribbed Socks Burgundy and light grey: https://gentl.mn/2gw4soo 2. White Linen Pocket Square with Burgundy Red Handrolled X Stitch: https://gentl.mn/2wzPPrX So before you even make it to a date, make sure it's actually a date. With all the internet vagueries, the differences between a date, or a hookup, or whatever else, can be quite vague and so it just helps if you just clarify it. Once that's settled, make plans together. Traditionally, dinner is what you do, especially in the beginning, however, if you know that the person a pretty spot or she has a very peculiar hobby, or she always dreamed of doing something, it may be a great idea to suggest just that. That means, get a haircut. If you just recently got a haircut, simply go for a trim because it provides you with a polished look that says "I respect myself and others" The day before the date, just reach out to confirm that the date is on and do not offer to pick her or him up in case it's your first date. Keep that for the second date. Just like with the haircut, you want to make sure that your outfit stands out but that it's you at the same time because you want to be confident and you want to be able to focus on your date and not on your clothes and how it fits. Of course, you should always adapt to your outfit to the date itself and the outward surroundings. If it's hot, wear something more summery. If it's cold, wear something that's appropriate. Personally, I think it's a very bad first impression to look stiff so if you don't wear suits very often, skip the suit as it will feel very odd because you are just not yourself and it's unnatural which is unpleasant and your date will notice that. If you usually wear polo shirts, maybe get a step up with a dress shirt, or if you usually wear dress shirts, get a step up and get a jacket or a blazer. Definitely, pay attention to your shoes because it is something most dates will take a look at so I suggest a nice pair of leather shoes with a matching leather belt is perfect. If you wear a blazer or a jacket, go with a pocket square. It adds a really polished look, otherwise, just go with a nice wristwatch. Definitely, skip the gold neck chains and maybe the wristbands because that may just give the wrong impression. At the morning of your date, it's time to trim your beard if you have one or to get a nice proper shave. You can either do a double edge razor shave or you can go with a straight razor shave at your barbershop, it's up to you. Just make sure you have a great look. Also, make sure to take a shower, brush your teeth, go over your nails, remove any nail dirt, clip and file them, and you can check out how to do that at home in less than 10 minutes in this guide here. Under no circumstances should you forget deodorant. You can also add a little bit of cologne. Make sure you don't overdo it because that has a negative effect. Before you leave the house, it's time to check your wallet. Make sure you have enough cash to maybe tip, pay for the valet, or other things that may occur where you need cash. Definitely bring your ID in case you get carded and otherwise, make sure that credit cards are all valid. Let's say you go to dinner and the cheque arrives, don't let it linger, take the lead, and offer to pay and just wait for the reaction of the other person. Last but not the least, I suggest you always review what you know about the person, maybe go through the messages again, maybe through their profile so you understand what they are and you don't get confused or get things mixed up because that could be quite embarrassing Put your phone on silent and don't be late because if you are late on a date, it reflects very poorly on you and it shows them that you don't respect them and their time and it's just a very bad start to any date. Cocktail Attire for Men - Wedding, Party & Event Dress Code Guide

06:24
http://gentl.mn/best-cocktail-attire-men To get the accessories I'm wearing, visit links below: Field Scabious Boutonniere Buttonhole: https://gentl.mn/2kZZTof Madder Silk Tie in Purple with Paisley: https://gentl.mn/2kZRnW8 Pocket Square with Monogram Initial Classic White Irish Linen: https://gentl.mn/2kZWhm8 In today's video, we're going to talk about Cocktail attire for men. If you receive an invitation that asks for Cocktail attire, the proper thing to do is simply to adhere to it. But what does it really mean? Most of the time, this dress code is used for wedding invitations so let me go over what you should wear if the dress code is cocktail attire for a wedding. First is you want a dark gray to mid-grey suit. Preferably solid, you can also have a light pattern, a glen check or a shark skin but with solids, you're always right. If you must, Navy works as well. Two, you should have a white dress shirt, maybe off-white, you can also have maybe a white collar shirt with a striped body but it should be somewhat formal. Do not wear brown shirts or purple shirts or turquoise shirts, that just looks awful. Next up comes the neckwear, you should definitely wear a tie. Maybe a bowtie can get away with it but usually for the wedding, stick with the tie because you don't want to take attention away from the bride and groom. Ideally, what you can wear is a colored tie with a small pattern like the one I'm wearing right now in purple with some paisley or you can wear a solid necktie like the one here, you want some texture like a knit tie like this one is good or maybe you can also wear satin if it's an evening event but I would usually stay away from that and go with something a little more textured. Since this is a more festive event, you want to go with a pocket square. If you have a white shirt, a white pocket square works. If you have a different colored shirt, use a different kind of pocket square. For shoes, you should preferably go with black dress shoes, that means leather sole and neatly polished black cap toe Oxford is ideal. If you must, you can also get away with burgundy, try not to go with tan shoes or anything like that. No sneakers, no trainers, black men's dress shoes, please. What's really important is that you wear over the calf socks because you never want to expose your hairy calves to the public so make sure you get over the calf socks that ideally match your trousers and then you'll be just fine. If you want to add a dash of color, you could also use socks that are slightly contrasting, maybe taking up the color of your tie but that's a little more advanced so it's up to you. Make sure you have a good clean hair cut, trimmed at the back. If you have a beard, of course, you want to be well groomed and it's all suppose to look neat. Never wear a tuxedo when the invitation states cocktail attire because that's simply overdressed, it's wrong and it's not an option so if it says "black tie optional", you can wear a tuxedo but when it says "cocktail attire", stick with a suit. As a general rule, you should always keep in mind that more patterns, more colors make things stand out more so ideally, if you're not quite comfortable yet, just start with one accent piece, either you have a bolder color jacket or you have a strong red or yellow tie. Don't try to mix it all together, try to go one accent piece at a time and if you feel more comfortable, maybe you can add two but never overdo it. Chances are, you already have the core pieces like the jacket, suit, and the shirts in your wardrobe but if you want to create a unique look with that boutonniere, pocket square, and tie, check out our selection of Fort Belvedere things, everything you see here, is available in our shop and much more. ======================================= To never miss any of our videos again, sign up here for free: http://gentl.mn/1RKv7bi Want to see more videos? How To Spot A Cheap Suit - Gentleman's Gazette

12:33
Tips so you NEVER buy a bad suits again! https://gentl.mn/how-to-spot-a-cheap-suit SHOP THE VIDEO: 1. Madder Silk Tie in Dark Ruby Red - https://gentl.mn/2fTj9lS 2. Ivory Silk-Wool Pocket Square with Hunting Motifs - https://gentl.mn/2xMMJ6p 3. White Phlox Boutonniere - https://gentl.mn/2k3PbjH 4. Shadow Stripe Ribbed Socks Dark Navy Blue and Royal Blue - https://gentl.mn/2yv104R 5. Pale Yellow Linen Pocket Square with Yellow Handrolled X Stitch - https://gentl.mn/2fSm3Yn 1. Collar You'll need to flip up the collar and look at the seam underneath. In a cheap suit, this seam will always be machine made. So how can you tell it's a machine made stitch? Usually, it's like a very regular triangle versus a handmade stitch is irregular. 2. Buttonholes You can identify handmade buttonhole by flipping over the buttonhole from the back and if it's irregular, it is handmade. If it's machine made, it is very very regular and it looks about the same as it doesn't in the front. That being said, you can also have a really crappy sewn handmade buttonhole which doesn't make for a nice suit. 3. Fabric Reserve Why would you need one? If you want to alter your garment; it's always good to have extra fabric, otherwise, you cannot make anything bigger. On a cheap suit, the three and a half yards of fabric are probably the most expensive part in the entire suit and so manufacturers try to cut corners and minimize use of fabric wherever they can. 4. Stitching First, I look at how the lining is sewn into the sleeve at the end of the sleeve, if it's sewn in by hand it's likely a quality suit, if it's sewn in by machine, it's different. There are two kinds; on the one end you can have it sewn in so there is no flexibility and that's a very cheap suit, on the other hand, you can sew it in by machine with a stitch it is very loose and it's a better way and it's also what you get with a handmade stitch. 5. Buttons Most cheap suits have plastic buttons. Sometimes the buttons look painted and it's because they are, on the other hand, I have also seen higher-end plastic buttons that are made to look like horn buttons and it's much more difficult to determine a difference. Sometimes you can take two buttons together and look for a specific sound, I find that works quite well. 6. Lining Another great way to spot a cheap suit is by identifying if it's a polyester lining or not. Quality suits have linings made out of sometimes viscose which is less expensive. A higher-end option would be silk, sometimes you also see cotton, but very cheap suits have polyester lining or blends with polyester. 7. Outer Fabric Material Most quality suits are made out of a hundred percent wool, the problem is, manufacturers can sometimes add one or two percent of an artificial fiber and still call it a hundred percent. In that case, you have to rely on the brand and look for a brand label. 8. Glued Or Fused Interlining? When you have the suit in front of you, what you can do is you can take the upper layer of the fabric and pinch it with your finger. If you can actually remove this layer from the layer that's underneath a bit and you can still feel it, it means you have a suit with a canvas that was sewn; if that's not possible, it means you have a fused garment, sometimes a fused garment is also a lot stiffer especially if it's a cheaper suit so if something doesn't drape well and feels very plasticky and thick, it's probably a cheap suit. Chinos & Khaki Pants Guide For Men

08:30
See our full guide here: https://gentl.mn/Chinos-Khakis-Guide In a nutshell, khakis are khaki colored, cotton twill pants. Chinos are a bit dressier than khakis and they come in other colors such as navy, sand, Nantucket red, or baby blue. Today, the two terms are often used interchangeably even though there are slight differences. First off, let's talk about the history of khaki pants. Khakis have an Indian heritage. In 1848, the corps of guides wore it as part of their uniform in India. In the 19th century, a British military had realized that their scarlet red uniforms looked really great, but it also made them easily visible to their enemies and so they realized it was time for a change. The uniforms also soiled very easily whereas the dust-colored pants of the Indian uniforms never looked dirty. The word khaki is derived from Hindi and means as much as dust-colored or soil colored which explains the perfect name for the khaki pants. For the same reason, khaki pants today are still within a spectrum of dust and sand-colored, never anything else. Enamored with the looks of khaki pants, the British military adopted it as part of their uniform for the Mahdist War and the second world war. Quality hallmarks of khaki pants: 1. They come in flat front styles and pleated styles. If you have thin legs, flat front may look very pleasing, whereas if you have bigger thighs, a pleated khaki gives you more room and is more comfortable and looks better. 2. Made from cotton twill material and it's very sturdy and they're very tight weave so it's not very breathable. It's very popular with big companies such as target or best buy and they usually mix polyester or other artificial fibers to the cotton to make them more sturdy. If you want to wear them as dress pants or as casual pants, I suggest you stick with 100% cotton, they're more comfortable on your skin and you'll sweat less. They don't wrinkle as much as regular cotton. 3. Traditionally, they always have belt loops and never suspender buttons. They're very easy to take care of, you don't have to bring them to the dry cleaner, you can just launder them in your washing machine. They match really well with polo shirts, long sleeve or short sleeve. You can wear them with dress shirts such as button down colored shirts, even regular dress shirts that you wear unbuttoned but you can even wear a tie with them and a blazer. Quality hallmarks of Chinos Chino is derived from China, which is where the pants were made really popular. Ultimately, they were a little dressier than khakis but today, they're basically the same thing. The big difference with chinos is the color variety. 1. Chinos come in different colors. Navy, light blue, Nantucket red, or sand, you can even add light pastel colors in green or yellow. 2. Chinos have belt loops, zip fly, can have pleats, and usually have cuffs. Of course, you don't need turn ups or cuffs and sometimes they come without them. Personally, I like them because they add a little more weight and it means the pants fall more nicely and drape more beautifully. How should you wear and combine khakis and chinos? Personally, I love to wear them in a more casual setting with boat shoes, without socks and a polo shirt, however, you can also wear them with a dress shirt, always wear a belt, ideally some brown shoes and in terms of style, I would say a derby, a monk, loafer, or even a pair of boots look really well. If you want something darker, go with a dark brown, burgundy, oxblood red shoe color. In terms of shirt fabrics, you can go with solids, you can pair it with Bengal stripes which are wider stripes, finer stripes, small checks, just what I'm wearing right now. You can also wear oxford cloth button down shirts which is great because of the 2 tone look of the fabric and it works well with khakis because they share the casual nature of the garment. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Most Popular videos: How to accept a compliment - https://youtu.be/_EKXNmM1PUo 101 things that change when you dress up - https://youtu.be/JyGDd_iYaCI How to tie a Bow Tie - https://youtu.be/2I3cfa0BOOc _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Want to stay updated? Silk Pocket Square in Yellow with Diamond Motif and Green Contrast Edge - https://gentl.mn/2q9GR4v 02:09 Morning Wear asically, it consists of a black or charcoal morning coat with a peak lapel or notched lapels then you have a black and white striped trousers which are also called cashmere trousers because there used to be some cashmere in them. Then you have a waistcoat which is either single-breasted or double-breasted, usually in a gray that's slightly contrasting or a buff color or you can go with other colors such as light blue depending on your choice and then you have a white shirt, traditionally, it had the detachable collar. 04:47 Evening Wear Now if you have an evening wedding or if you want to change, you get a white tie tailcoat ensemble. It's likewise a tailcoat but it's cut differently than a morning coat, it's all black, your pants have a double striped galon down the side. You wear a white stiff collared shirt with detachable collar, you wear a Marcella waistcoat and then a bow tie. 06:48 Tuxedo Basically, you want a black bow tie, you want a tuxedo that's silk faced with shawl collar, you don't want anything that's rented. You want wool because that way, you sweat less and you look better and you feel more comfortable. It really shows in your wedding pictures. 09:02 Regular Suit The big advantage of going with a suit for your wedding day is that you can reuse it at the office or for other events so if you don't have black tie events to go to outside of your wedding, that may be a wiser investment. 11:31 Blazer Combination If a suit seems too formal to you, I suggest to take it a notch down, maybe wear a blazer combination, maybe with a pair of chinos but something that's still dressier. 12:31 Groom Do's & Don'ts - First of all, sneakers or jeans are not something that make you look good so skip those. - The biggest mistake that I've seen in a wedding was when the groom showed up ungroomed - Do not rent your Tux FOR GUIDES & VIDEOS MENTIONED: Morning Dress Guide: https://gentl.mn/2q9E0bX How to pull off a bow tie: https://gentl.mn/2qUkkps -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most Popular videos: How to accept a compliment - https://youtu.be/_EKXNmM1PUo 101 things that change when you dress up - https://youtu.be/JyGDd_iYaCI How to tie a Bow Tie - https://youtu.be/2I3cfa0BOOc --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? A young fashion rebel by the name Griswold Lorillard created a stir by wearing a tail-less jacket to a white-tie-and-tails ball at an exclusive country club event. The location was Tuxedo Park, New York. The conservative host was appalled at this blatant disrespect towards tradition and kicked Lorillard and his friends out of the party. It was too late to stop the new trend. The tail-less adaptation of the jacket grew in popularity because society was tired of the fastidious tail coat. Lounge Suit Dress Code + History, What to Wear, DOs & DON'Ts

Mid Brown and Green Shadow Stripe Ribbed Socks - https://gentl.mn/2kgrt19 What is a lounge suit? The term lounge suit was coined in the beginnings of the early 20th century. At that time, a regular suit was rather casual and so that's what you would wear to a lounge, so obviously, things haven't changed in the sense that lounges were considered casual yet the whole formality scale of clothes was very different. In those times, Gentlemen mostly wear frock coats, as well as morning coats, and a lounge suit was a new casual kid on the block. So today, when it says lounge suit, don't be confused. You actually have to wear a dark suit that is rather formal and very similar to what you wear when a dress code would call for business attire or if you'd go to a funeral. Most of the time, you'll find a lounge suit dress code on written invitations, for example, you're invited to the Embassy or let's say at Buckingham Palace. So what exactly should you wear when the dress code calls for a lounge suit? Basically, a dark suit with a necktie. It can either be single-breasted or double-breasted, a two-piece suit or a three-piece suit. For color, you should go with either navy or charcoal, maybe dark grey or even a form of charcoal brown can work, stay clear of any bright and loud colors. Subtle patterns like a pinpoint are okay, maybe a very subtle non-contrasting houndstooth, maybe a faint stripe, but I would stay clear of wide rope stripes or big contrasting white stripes in a dark background because that's too loud for a lounge suit dress code. Likewise, stay clear of very casual suits, other materials such as tweed or bold patterns with a very casual structure and texture. The suit should always be worn with a necktie; it can be a regular classic necktie or if you want to, also a bow tie. Stay clear of ascots or an open neck since it's too formal of an occasion to go without proper neckwear. In terms of patterns, keep it classic and conservative, meaning go with maybe a blue tie, a red tie, or something in darker shades. Stay clear of the bright orange or yellow ties. For your shirt, a plain solid white or a plain solid light blue are your best options. Patterned shirts should be avoided, checked shirts or anything that is quite bold such as blue and white stripes. The collar of your shirt should be a classic turndown collar. The spread can vary and it depends a bit on your face. With a rounder face, you can go for a smaller spread and a bigger collar. With an oval face, you can have a more spread collar but you definitely want to avoid a button-down collar since it would be too casual. The goal is to look appropriate and respectful without being flashy. So for shoes, that means go with a pair of Oxfords, maybe some derbies in either black, a form of brown, or maybe dark burgundy. Stay clear of loafers, casual textures such as suede or full brogues since that would be not formal enough. In terms of the rest of your accessories, go with over the calf socks so you don't reveal your bare skin. If you want a pocket square, you can go with one. Try to keep it muted, the classic white linen pocket square with hand rolled edges is probably your best bet and you can find it in our shop here. I also suggest you go with a more conservative fold such as the TV fold I'm wearing here right now, not the crown fold or something more flashy. You can wear any form of a micropattern tie, meaning small pattern, which is very formal and elegant. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? $30 vs $300 Men's Dress Shirt - How To Spot Quality Shirts & Avoid Crap- Gentleman's Gazette

09:53
For more pictures and details check out our full comparison here: http://gentl.mn/30-dollar-vs-300-dress-shirt Like the tie I am wearing? get it here https://www.gentlemansgazette.com/shop/accessories/ties/navy-cream-yellow-shantung-stripe-silk-tie-fort-belvedere?utm_campaign=social-lead-gen&utm_medium=video&utm_source=youtube&utm_content=30-dollar-vs-300-dress-shirt&utm_term=youtube-description DRESS SHIRT QUALITY HALLMARKS 1. Pattern matching If the pattern is matched on the sleeve and the shoulder on both sides, you know it's a quality shirt because someone paid attention to it. 2. Stitching The higher the stitch density, the higher the quality of the shirt overall. Also, you want to look for consistency of the stitching. The best way to look at the stitching is at the bottom hem where it's round. A quality shirt will always have a single needle stitching which takes a little more time but creates a cleaner look. On the other hand, a low-end shirt will double needle stitching 3. Collar and the cuffs A lower end shirt will typically have a stiff interlining in the collar and it just comes in one level of stiffness. On the other hand, a higher end shirt will either give you an option to go with a softer interlining or something stiffer. 4. Yoke Traditionally, they were split in half because people usually have one shoulder that is usually more sloped than the other and they use that part to correct that. Today, most factory made shirts and even made to measure shirts don't even take that into consideration anymore so all you can look at is the yoke split in the back. if so, it's another step, it's more expensive, it helps to match the pattern on the sleeve and it's basically all it is. 5. Buttons A $30 shirt will likely have plastic buttons and they're sometimes made to look like mother of pearl. The next detail to look at is how the button is actually sewn onto the shirt. 6. Sleeves Most of the time, relatively inexpensive shirts or low-end shirts have huge armholes and that makes them uncomfortable to wear because as soon as you lift your arms, everything moves up and becomes uncomfortable. 7. Buttonholes If you have a machine buttonhole that was first sewn and then cut, you have fraying edges on the inside and it just looks bad. On the other hand, a high-quality machine sewn buttonhole has a very high stitch density and you will not find fraying threads. 5 Classic & Timelessly Stylish Hairstyles for Men

10:18
Look your best with a new haircut! https://gentl.mn/classic-hairstyles-for-men #timelesshairstyles #hairstylesformen #notsponsored Some of the b footage is from our friends over at beardbrand https://www.youtube.com/user/TheBeardbrand Guides you don't want to miss! Disconnected Undercut Guide: https://gentl.mn/2vlSsAA Best Hair Products For Men: https://gentl.mn/2EVbUDE Prohibition high and tight It was very popular in the mid-1920s and with shows like Boardwalk Empire, it became very popular a few years ago. Maybe you've also watched Peaky Blinders and they all have very similar hairstyles. They are very short on the side with longer hair on the back and it gives you that rough edge that's kind of cool but at the same time very classic. It's a style that works for anything from fine to thick hair as long as it's reasonably straight and not too curly. Pompadour It's all about the top and how you comb it. Now James Dean had a curl and for that, you need some curl in your hair otherwise you can also go without and it still looks quite timeless and classic. Flair No, I'm not talking about the 1980s Gordon Gekko look that just looks dated today and almost like the cliche used-car salesman. Of course, if you have longer hair on top you can comb it back and have a little flair and not get quite an extreme Gordon Gekko look. If you want to wear the updated version of it, you want a square cut and if you tell your barber, he'll know what you mean. For this hairstyle, a mousse works best and you just work it in your hair and then comb it back. I suggest not to comb it back quite straight. You want a little wave so it looks more pleasing. Undercut or we call it the Gent Gazette It's the kind of a haircut I typically wear. I part it on one side and initially, I started parting it in front in the middle and I moved all the way out. Usually, my sides are cut shorter all the way up so I get that nice transition at the same time it grows out in a way that doesn't look terrible. Usually, I go get a haircut about every three to four weeks. Bed Head It's similar to a pompadour. It's shorter on the side, higher on top but it's just a little more disheveled which could look more relaxed and it's particularly popular with hipsters often combined with a beard. So, you want to tell your barber to keep it high on the sides and instead of combing it back you're pulling it forward and you dishevel it slightly with your hands. This is definitely a cut you don't want to be slicked back otherwise, it looks greasy. In terms of products, you want to stick with something with a matte finish and it can be like a grooming cream or a foaming cream, not a pomade, they're just too stiff. I suggest you start with damp hair and then use a blow dryer and your fingers to kind of dry it in shape and the only problem is strong winds. To counteract that, you can work with a bit of hairspray. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? As far as dressing for the office goes, a lot depends on the culture but over the years, things have changed dramatically and today, we go through the decades and we will give you a specific rundown of what items to wear, what not to wear, and particularly, what shoes you can focus on. In the last thirty years, the formality scale has dropped dramatically and today, probably just 1/10 office workers wear a full suit. As with many trends in menswear, the World War set a huge impact on style and dress code for the office and it usually meant that it was more casual or at least, more utilitarian. So, what should you wear to work? Honestly, a lot of it depends on your workplace and the culture there. That being said, we are big supporters of the plus and minus rule. So, don't just look at what the employee handbook says but actually observe what people are wearing at the office and at your workplace. Now ideally, you want to stay within one step above what people wear. Ideally, you don't want to step below because it definitely has an impact, people see it, and they will judge you maybe just subconsciously. You've probably heard of the old saying "Don't dress for the job you have but for the job you want." That as a caveat, many CEOs today dress very casually because they are already at the top of the company and they don't have to impress anyone. At the same time, if you have client contact and you want others to respect you at the office, dressing well and dressing a step up is important. Now that being said, sometimes your manager or superior can feel threatened if you outdress them so that is one aspect to keep in mind. You do not want to offend people and hirt your chances of climbing the ladders simply because they feel threatened by the way you dress. Honestly, if that happens at your workplace, it's probably time to change jobs anyway because that is not the kind of culture that you will likely thrive in, especially not if you like to dress up. if you want a full rundown on what business casual means today, please check out the video, here. 5 WARDROBE STAPLES 1. Navy blazer Even though you never have to wear suits at work, having a blazer is ideal because it makes your otherwise very informal outfit rather formal without being over the top. 2. Chinos Ideally, you get them in some khaki color, you can also go lighter with stone, or darker with navy. 3. Dress shirts If you don't work in a super formal office, you can be a little bit more relaxed with your shirts, you can have stripes, you can add some colors, maybe checks, and you can decide if you want to have button cuffs or French cuff for cufflinks. 4. Shoes In terms of shoes, the rules have relaxed a lot. For the traditional office, you can go with the classic black cap toe oxford. At the same time, brown at the office today is probably more popular than black if you look at all the offices across the US and Europe. It really does not matter if you go with derby shoes or monk straps. 5. Socks A lot of men wear short socks or mid-calf socks when they slide down, they expose your hairy calves which is still unprofessional in this day and age. #dressingforwork #officeattire #notsponsored --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? There has been some great innovation in terms of fabric technologies and we embrace that and think it's a good thing. At the same time, there are lots of gimmicks out there that just cost a lot of money and they're more like a band-aid, not really fixing a problem. 1. Pouch style underwear. You may have heard of Saxx underwear that comes with mesh sides or sheath that has an entire pouch and it's underwear that's meant to keep you more comfortable and less sticky down there. We actually tried the pouch underwear and we had one pair with a pouch and we cut out the pouch on the other pair simply to try it out and figure it out if there was a huge difference. In my experience, there really isn't. 2. Sock suspenders. Don't let anyone tell you that sock suspenders are actually fixing a problem. If you have proper over the calf socks in the first place, there is ZERO need for sock suspenders. 3. Sticky tape that you glue onto your skin and the socks so you don't see it unlike the sock suspenders unless you take off the socks then you have some sticky tape there that you need to rip off along with the hairs and that must be extremely uncomfortable. 4. Shirt collar products. Now the problem many men have is that the tip of the shirt collar points up or it curls at the very end and so there are multiple solutions on the market to fix that. It ranges from glue products that supposedly don't leave any residue behind and includes products with magnets and most of them don't work. 5. Shirts stays. Now those are little devices that are similar to suspenders that you clip at the bottom tail of your shirt and on the top part of your sock so they're connected. Yes, they do the job, they keep your shirt tucked in, and they keep your socks up, but it's extremely uncomfortable to wear. 6. Sleeve garters. The sleeve garter would help you to pull up that shirt sleeve so it wouldn't hang down and get soiled. Sometimes as you watch old movies or photos, you can see men wearing them when they have their jackets removed. 7. Tie holders. If you have ties that are made of printed silk and very slim, they are likely to slip down more on the knot than let's say a knit tie or a grenadine tie simply because there's less friction because there's less texture. 8. Shirt iron. The idea is it's a little travel iron that you can bring along and that is specifically meant for your shirt collar. Now it's true the shirt collar is one of those things that are immediately visible but if you need to iron your shirt collar, you also likely have to iron at least the front of your shirt if you wear a jacket so it looks neat. So my question is, why is it worth carrying around an extra weight just for your shirt collar if most hotels and Airbnbs offer an iron, I simply don't know the answer to that. 9. Laundry detergents and soaps targeted specifically for men's clothing. I get it, the more specific you can target a customer the better it is, that being said, the difference in laundry detergent for men or for men's clothing is usually just the fragrance. So at the end of the day, the soap is no more or less effective for your men's clothing, it just has a different scent. 10. Pocket square holder. Now I get it, most pocket squares out there are too small to actually stay in your pocket and over the course of the day, it will slide down. The issue here is that the manufacturer cuts them so small because that way, they get the most yield out of the fabric width. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? Click here for a more detailed guide: https://gentl.mn/15-mens-style-hacks Also, make sure to check out our Video about 35 Gentleman Life Hacks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x54Rl8GMkD0 Get the tie I'm wearing: https://gentl.mn/2kYYJfg 00:20 Wash your dress shirts in a delicates bag. The delicates bag acts a barrier between your shirt and the washing machine and therefore, the edges wear less. 00:55 Store your underwear or t-shirts vertically, not horizontally. A. you get more to your drawer and B. you see exactly what you have. 01:28 Use your hangers to see what you actually wear and don't wear. Whenever you wear something, you simply turn it around. 02:11 Dry your fine, delicate sweater in a salad spinner. It'll stay in shape, and you will be able to enjoy your sweaters for years to come. 02:43 Iron the inside of your shirt placket from the back first and then from the front. That way, unattractive wrinkles would be gone. 03:11 If you want a new way or some inspiration to wear a garment that you already have, simply go to Instagram and search for hashtags. 03:54 Fix stuck zippers with either a candle or bar soap. 05:07 Use rubbing alcohol or a hairspray to remove pen stains. Use hair spray as a pre-treatment, let it sit for about five minutes and then put it in your regular wash cycle. 05:32 When you're traveling, add a dryer sheet or a piece of bar soap to your dirty laundry so it will always remain fresh. 05:57 Use a paper towel holder core to prevent wrinkles in your pants. Attach it to your hanger to avoid creases on your trousers. 06:46 Add a tie dimple to your ties to create a three-dimensional texture. So you always look dapper. 07:13 Avoid drying your dress shirts and other cotton garments at all costs. It will get damaged very easily. 08:01 Use a dryer sheet to remove deodorant marks on your shirt. Simply rub it off using the dryer sheet. 08:34 Ironing your shirts wet if you don't have a steam iron. Dampen your shirts so the water turns to steam once iron hits the shirt. 09:12 Use moth balls the right way. Throwing mothballs just in your closet simply is not enough. Business Casual Attire For Men & Dress Code Explained with Lookbook Outfits

11:11
Full Business Casual Guide, here: https://www.gentlemansgazette.com/business-casual-men-attire/?utm_campaign=social-lead-gen&utm_medium=video&utm_source=youtube&utm_content=business-casual-men&utm_term=youtube-description So how do we get from suit, dress shirt and tie to a very relaxed dress code with khakis and Polo shirts? Well, it all started with Aloha Fridays. This trend became quite popular in Hawaii and was eventually adopted on the mainland. Subsequently, people were familiar with it and wore it more often. So what does business casual mean in a nutshell? Basically, it means no suit but also no jeans. 1. White collar business casual - Bank, law firm, accounting firm The core piece in your wardrobe would be the dark navy blazer. Stick with just dark horn buttons. Stick with a single breasted and notched lapel look for a very normal appearance. You can also go with other kinds of sports coats that are patterned. When it comes to dress shirts, you should invest in some oxford shirts. They have a nice 2-tone appearance to them which makes them more casual and perfectly suited for business casual. When it comes to pants you can either wear chinos or khakis or dress pants in grey, light grey, mid-grey, not blue, especially if you have a navy blazer because it's too close but not the same. Basically, you want to have a certain amount of contrast. As far as accessories go, you can have a pocket square, you can go with a dressy watch or maybe with a naval strap to mix it up and make it more casual, depends on your specific office. When in doubt, always go a little more formal. For shoes and boots, you can basically wear anything in the color brown, reddish brown, or dark brown, maybe even tan. Since you're at the office, you should always bring a bag. A proper gentleman always carries a bag. It could be made of leather, of canvas, or a mix of the two but leave the backpack at home and only use it when you go hiking. 2. Service business casual or more relaxed office environments If you have client contact, chances are you are required to wear a jacket, sportscoat, blazer, at all times. If you're not, maybe you can get away with just wearing a dress shirt or a polo shirt. If you feel a sportcoat would be too formal, you can also try just to go with a vest because it's dressier than just a dress shirt but less formal than a jacket. For shirts, button down collars are good as well as long sleeved polo shirts. Neckties are entirely optional. At this level, denim or jeans are still not okay to wear, go with chinos or khakis. During the colder months of the year, sweaters of all kinds are great, you can either have them with a tie or without. Alternatively, have a cardigan or a sweater vest. Simply an ideal look for this environment because it's dressier than just having a shirt. As far as shoes go, I personally would suggest you go with classic shoes such as derbys, monk straps, loafers in brown because they work with everything and are just the perfect business look. Of course, the bag you should have can be a little more relaxed so it can be canvas, could be more weathered. Of course, a vintage leather patina bag is always appropriate and looks phenomenal. 3. Startup Business casual It's always to your advantage to put your best foot forward and that means, dressing up a bit more. Wear a polo shirt even if it's short sleeved. Rather than wearing shorts when it's warm consider maybe a pair of seersucker pants. Instead of crocs or flip-flops, switch over to boat shoes, you can also go with driving mocs and a sockless look. When it's cold outside, you can't just go to the office with just your blazer so ideal companions would be a trench coat in between seasons. When it gets much colder, you can get something like a peacoat which is shorter but it covers your jacket and it's very warm. If you want something lightweight that's more fun, you can think about something like a quilted jacket.
