How to Make Funnel Cakes!!

03:22
Just like the ones you get at the fair! This recipe comes from an old Pennsylvania Dutch cookbook that was in my grandmothers collection from Dutch Pantry Restaurants. These are super simple to make, only take a couple minutes to fry up and are a great treat for kids. These do not keep well so only make what you will eat immediately. Batter can be stored in the fridge for later use (up to two days). What you'll need: 3 large eggs 2 cups milk 1/4 cup granulated sugar 3 cups all-purpose flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt oil for frying powdered sugar for dusting or toppings of your choice Whisk everything together in a large bowl until no lumps remain. Batter should be smooth. Pour batter into a funnel with a 7/16" hole making sure to plug the hole with your finger. Using a larger funnel makes the funnel cake strands too big and doughy and a smaller funnel makes them too small and crispy. Heat oil to 350*F in a medium saucepan or cast iron skillet. Holding the funnel about 1" above the oil, quickly swirl and zigzag the batter around in the oil. Fill in any large voids but leave some smaller ones. Each funnel cake should use about 1/2 cup batter if using an 8" pan. Fry until golden brown on the first side, about 1 minute. Carefully turn and continue frying until golden brown on the second side. Drain and serve on double layer of paper plates. Dust with powdered sugar or toppings of your choice! Makes about 9 (8") funnel cakes. Enjoy! Music by Kevin MacLeod (http://incompetech.com)

Make Perfect White Rice on the Stovetop

02:31
Don't be intimidated by cooking white rice at home without a rice cooker. No need for them! This is my way of cooking rice and is by no means the ONLY way but it is the way that always works for me. I've tried everything under the sun to make rice like the package says and it has never worked. It was too gummy or crunchy in the middle or it turned into rice pudding. Doing it my way is the best way I've found as it makes perfectly cooked rice that's cooked all the way through and is not sticky or gummy. You can rinse the rice ahead of time if you prefer but it makes no difference in the final outcome in the way I make my rice. As I do it, bring 3 cups water to a boil with a pinch of salt. Stir in 2 cups of long grain white rice, cover with a tight fitting lid and turn the burner down to the lowest setting on your stove top. Set the timer for 20 minutes. When done, take off heat and let sit for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork. Enjoy!

DIY: Newspaper Pots for Seed Starting/Cuttings

05:06
Spring is right around the corner and I need to get seeds started. I don't have any small plastic pots so I'm using these newspaper pots. The best part, they're FREE!! They should hold together long enough for the last frost to come around and then I'll plant the seedling or cutting with pot and all in the ground. For the time being I planted up some rooted rosemary cuttings I took a few weeks ago in them. I made these using a half sheet of newsprint approx 11"x22" and it yielded a pot 2.75" square by 3" tall. Perfect side for getting good sized starts! I also made some using phone book paper and they measured 2" square by 2" tall. These are made the same but end up with a smaller lip around the top and were only single thick on two of the sides. Probably wouldn't hold up to being moist for 2 months but it's an alternative. Cleaning Hard Water Deposits

03:57
How to remove hard water deposits off of faucets and sinks. No need for special cleaners or chemicals, just plain vinegar is used on this. The acid in the vinegar easily dissolves the calcium and hard water deposits and makes it easy to remove. And before anyone gets on my case about replacing gaskets and seals in the faucet, we don't have access to shut off the water to do it ourselves.

Homemade Soft Pretzels!! How to Make Pretzels Recipe

06:52
Learn how to make the best homemade soft pretzels right at home!! These are soft, salty, buttery and melt in your mouth. Absolute deliciousness! If you've never made homemade pretzels before, give them a try. They are so easy to make, there's no reason not to! What you'll need: 1 cup milk 2 Tbsp white sugar 2 tsp instant dry yeast 2 Tbsp butter, softened 2 1/4 cups all-purpose (plain) flour plus more for kneading 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup water 1 1/2 Tbsp baking soda 2 Tbsp butter, melted 1 Tbsp pretzel salt or coarse grind salt Heat milk to 100-110*F and pour into a large bowl. Add in sugar and sprinkle yeast on top. Let 'proof' for 10 minutes. Add in salt, softened butter and half the flour. Stir to make a batter. It does not need to be smooth, lumps are fine. Add in remaining flour and mix. Once it starts to come together, knead in the bowl for a minute or two to get everything into the ball of dough. Dust a working surface with flour and turn down out and knead an additional 2-3 minutes. Don't add too much flour to your bench. The dough will be and is supposed to be soft. Put dough into an oiled bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled. Meanwhile, heat water to a near boil, add to a small bowl and whisk in baking soda to dissolve. Set aside. Once dough has doubled in size, turn out onto a work surface and cut into 6 equal pieces. Roll each into a 30" long rope. Shape into the classic pretzel shape and submerge into the baking soda solution for 10-15 seconds. Transfer to a greased or silicone baking mat lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle with pretzel salt and finish remaining dough. Bake in a preheated 450*F oven for 9-11 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with remaining melted butter. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for later. Serve with cheese sauce or mustard. Makes 6 soft pretzels. Enjoy!! Make Your Own: Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole

03:59
Learn how to make hashbrown casserole just like Cracker Barrel's!! This is the only recipe there is that uses the same ingredients Cracker Barrel does even though there are several copycat recipes online. First, Cracker Barrel uses colby cheese, not cheddar and second, they don't use sour cream in their hash brown casserole. Those recipes may be good in their own right, but they are not as close to the real deal as this is. These taste exactly like what you get served at the restaurant, especially when you let them sit for a bit like the restaurant does. I got this recipe from a friend of mine who was a cook at Cracker Barrel for several years. They make it in big batches but this is cut down to go into a 9"x13" pan which will serve 6-8 people. What you'll need: 2 lbs frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed 1 (10.75oz) can Campbell's condensed cream of chicken soup 1/2 medium yellow onion, diced or chopped fine 1/4 cup margarine, melted 2 cups (8 oz) colby cheese, shredded or diced fine in a food processor 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper Combine everything except the hash browns in a large bowl. Add in the thawed hash brown potatoes and mix well. Put into a 9"x13" baking pan and bake in a preheated 350*F oven for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Enjoy!!

Whisk until smooth. Pour into unbaked 9" pastry pie crust. Bake in a preheated 350*F oven for 45-55 minutes or until the center is just set. Watch the last 10 minutes of cooking to make sure pecans and pie don't brown too much and burn. If it's getting dark, tent the pie with a piece of aluminum foil and continue baking until center is just set. When done, remove from oven and let cool for 30 minutes to an hour. Slice and enjoy! How to Make Strawberry Jam!! Homemade Small Batch Preserves Recipe

Learn how to make a small batch of homemade strawberry jam! Sometimes you don't want to make 12 pints at a time. Or maybe you don't have a canner. Well, this recipe is for you. Enjoy! What you'll need: 2 lbs fresh strawberries 2 cups granulated sugar 1 Tbsp lemon juice This recipe requires 2 lbs of strawberries which is approximately 4 1/2 cups of firmly packed chunked strawberries. How to Make Chicken Parmesan - Chicken Parmigiana Recipe

06:09
Learn how to make delicious chicken parmesan at home!! This recipe is super easy yet tastes just as good if not better than any you'd order from a fancy Italian restaurant! Great served on it's own, over pasta or made into sandwiches. Quite a versatile dish! What you'll need: 2 boneless and skinless chicken breasts 1 1/2 cups Italian style bread crumbs (see how I make mine here: http://youtu.be/GMTG73oBXXQ ) 3/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese, divided 1/2 cup flour 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 2 large eggs extra virgin olive oil marinara sauce (see how I make mine here: http://youtu.be/5VCVpovJHm4 ) approx. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese pasta of your choice Trim chicken breasts and cut in half. Place between waxed paper or plastic wrap and pound out to about 1/2 inch thick. Set aside. In one bowl, combine flour, salt and pepper. In another, whisk eggs and in another mix bread crumbs and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese. To bread the chicken, dredge in flour, then eggs and then into bread crumbs. Press the crumbs into the chicken. Place onto a plate and let set for 15 minutes. This helps the coating stick to the chicken. In a skillet, add enough olive oil to make it 1/4" deep. Heat over medium high heat and fry the chicken for about 2 minutes on each side. Remove to a paper towel lined plate to drain excess oil. Place into a baking dish and top with marinara sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella over top then remaining parmesan. Bake in a preheated 350*F oven for 20-30 minutes or until chicken is done and cheese is melted and browned on top. Serve on it's own, over pasta or make into sandwiches. Makes 4 large chicken parmesans. Enjoy!! Dyed Deviled Eggs

04:56
How to make colored deviled eggs for Easter! Learn here how to make them so they have no nasty taste from the food coloring or the so-called needed vinegar. There are several how-to's online for these and have no idea whose idea it was originally. Whatever you do, do NOT add vinegar to the colored water or your eggs will taste like vinegar. Who wants that?!?! What you'll need: hard boiled eggs, peeled and cooled food coloring (liquid works best) whatever ingredients you need to make your favorite deviled eggs recipe (I use mayo, mustard, salt and paprika) Use 1 drop of liquid food coloring for each 3/4 cups of water. Any more than that and you will taste the food coloring which is not a pleasant taste. Cut the eggs in half and put the yolks into a bowl. Take the whites and rinse them if you so choose, it doesn't really matter, and put them into the colored water. Let sit for 30-45 minutes or until desired shade is reached. Drain and rinse the whites with fresh cold water. Let dry somewhat on a paper towel and then fill with the yolk mixture you made while the whites were being colored. Put onto a plate or an egg platter and enjoy!

How to Make Royal Icing for Piping and Flooding Cookies

03:31
Learn how I make royal icing for decorating sugar cookies! This is the only recipe I use anymore as it works so well for me. It also stores well. Like I said in the video, if you have issues using raw egg whites you can use pasteurized whites found in almost every supermarket. What you'll need: 3 cups powdered (icing or confectioners) sugar 2 large egg whites (or equivalent of pasteurized whites) 1/4 tsp cream of tartar (tartaric acid) 1 tsp vanilla extract water In a large bowl or in a stand mixer combine powdered sugar, cream of tartar and egg whites. Mix on low until combined. Add in vanilla and beat on high for one minute. At this point the icing is thick, sticky and like glue. Add in about a tablespoon of water and beat on high for 3 minutes. From here you can color it and use it as-is to ice cookies using a spatula or knife of you can store it. To store icing: put into a bowl and put a piece of plastic wrap over the top of the icing to prevent a skin from forming and store covered for up to a week. Let icing come to room temp and stir well before using. For use in a pastry bag for piping and flooding: Color icing as desired and start adding water 1/2 tsp at a time until icing becomes thin and a '5 second consistency', meaning threads of icing falling off a spoon are absorbed completely back into the icing within 5 seconds. Then let sit 20 minutes, covered, to allow any air bubbles to come to the surface and pop before adding to a pastry bag. ***NOTE: when using, make sure to keep the ends of the pastry bags or decorating tips covered with a damp towel to prevent icing from hardening in the tip. Also, let cookies dry 12-24 hours before packaging and storing cookies. Don't worry, they won't go stale. Music by Kevin MacLeod (http://incompetech.com)

I don't recommend baking these as the breading needs to cook before the cheese turns to oozing molten lava. ;-) What you'll need: 8oz. mozzarella cheese 1/4 cup flour 2 large eggs 2 Tbsp water 2 cups Italian Style breadcrumbs (see how I make mine here: http://youtu.be/GMTG73oBXXQ ) vegetable oil for frying Start by cutting the block of cheese in half and then standing on edge and slicing in half again followed by cutting into 5 equal sections. Each cheese stick should be approx. 1/4"x1/4"x3". One (8oz) block of cheese will make 20 mozzarella sticks. Toss the cheese sticks in flour and shake to remove excess flour. Whisk eggs with water in a pie plate or bowl and coat the floured sticks in the mixture. In another pie plate or bowl, add bread crumbs and coat the cheese sticks. Shake off excess crumbs and set aside. Repeat the breading process by dipping in the egg mixture again followed by the bread crumbs again. Put onto a plate and freeze for at least 2 hours. This helps to prevent cheese blowout during cooking. Heat oil to 350*F. In small batches, fry the cheese sticks until golden brown. It takes less than a minute to cook them. Remove to a paper towel lined plate or a wire rack to drain. Serve with marina sauce and enjoy! Makes 20 mozzarella cheese sticks. Music by KevinMacLeod (http://incompetech.com)

Homemade Pizza Crust (Dough) from Scratch - Easy Recipe

05:30
Here is a recipe that I've been using for years now for my own homemade pizza crust from scratch! Don't be intimidated by making it at home. It's so easy and is the best crust there is! This is the same crust used in my pepperoni pizza video from a few years back. Enjoy! What you'll need: 3/4 cup warm water (about 100*F) 2 Tbsp granulated sugar 1 tsp active dry yeast 1 tsp salt 1 Tbsp olive oil 2 cups all-purpose or plain flour additional oil for greasing In a large bowl, combine water and sugar and sprinkle yeast on top to re-hydrate. Don't use too hot of water or you will kill your yeast. After yeast is a bit foamy, add in salt, 1 Tbsp oil and flour. Mix well until it comes together to form a dough. Knead until smooth and all flour is incorporated and dough is no longer sticky, about 3 minutes. Grease a bowl with another tablespoon of oil, coat dough ball with oil and cover with a damp towel. Let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size. To use, grease a pan with more oil, pat dough out using your finger tips to 14"-16" in diameter. Spread with sauce, top with cheese and toppings and bake in a preheated 450*F oven for 12-14 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melty. Makes (1) 16" pizza. Enjoy!! Bread Pudding with Vanilla Bourbon Sauce - Homemade Bread Pudding Recipe!

06:47
Learn how to make the best homemade bread pudding you will ever have! Soft, moist, custard-y goodness with raisins and topped with a vanilla bourbon sauce. This right here is the bread pudding of champions! What you'll need: 16 ounce loaf of French bread (450g) 1/2 cup raisins (115g) 4 large eggs 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g) 2 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 cup butter, melted (115g) pinch of freshly ground nutmeg or 1/2 tsp store-bought 2 cups half and half (475ml) 1 cup whole milk (240ml) Begin by soaking the raisins in a small bowl, just covered with boiling water. Set aside. **DRAIN BEFORE USING** Tear bread into pieces and set aside. In a large bowl combine eggs, sugar, vanilla and butter. Whisk well to dissolve sugar. Add in nutmeg, half and half and milk. Whisk well to combine all ingredients. Add in bread pieces and toss to coat. Set aside for 30 minutes. To layer the mix and raisins, put 1/3rd of the bread and custard mix into the bottom of an 8" x 8" baking dish (20cm x 20cm). Sprinkle with 1/3rd of the raisins. Repeat the layering twice more. Bake pudding in a preheated 325*F (165*C) oven for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and center is just barely set. It should jiggle slightly. Remove from oven when done and let cool to room temp before transferring to the refrigerator to chill completely (at least 6-8 hours or preferably overnight). For the sauce: 1 large egg 3/4 cup half and half (175ml) 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g) dash of cinnamon (1/4 tsp) splash of vanilla extract (1/2 tsp) pinch of freshly ground nutmeg (1/8 tsp) splash of Jim Beam Bourbon (1 Tbsp) In a small saucepan combine egg, half and half and sugar. Mix well. Add in cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and Jim Beam. Cook over low heat until simmering and sauce thickens while whisking constantly. Sauce may foam up but bubbles will subside when taken off heat. When it's done, sauce will coat the back of a spoon and will resemble a thin pudding in consistency. Perfect Pineapple Upside Down Cake - In A MUG!!

03:19
Learn how to make an individual serving of pineapple upside down cake in a mug in the microwave! No hockey pucks, dry cake or failures here. The perfect recipe that works every time! **Click 'SHOW MORE' for recipe and tips** What you'll need: 1 canned pineapple slice 1 maraschino cherry 2 Tbsp light brown sugar 1/4 cup all-purpose or plain flour 2 Tbsp granulated sugar 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/8 tsp salt 2 Tbsp pineapple juice (reserved from the can of pineapple slices) 1 Tbsp vegetable oil 1 Tbsp beaten egg 1/8 tsp vanilla extract In a 12oz glass coffee mug, layer the brown sugar, pineapple slice and place a maraschino cherry in the center of the pineapple ring. In a medium bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients and pour on top of pineapple slice. Microwave on 50% power for 2 1/2 minutes. Let sit 30 seconds, run a knife around the outside of the cake and then turn out onto a plate. Scrape all the syrup from the bottom of the mug onto the cake. Makes 1 cake. Enjoy!! Tips: -you must use a mug at least 12oz in size. Any smaller and the cake batter will overflow all over your microwave. No it doesn't have to be clear but glass is best. -use pineapple slices canned in pineapple juice. Do NOT use pineapple packed in heavy syrup. You need the juice to provide moisture for the cake to turn out light and moist. -the extra egg can be stored covered in the fridge for 24 hours. Add it to your scrambled eggs the next morning, freeze it for later or cook it up and give it to your dog for a treat. - see the instruction manual for your microwave to see how to do 50% power. All microwaves are different, hence why I didn't show how to do it. If you don't have the manual for your microwave, google is your friend. -to lighten the calories you can reduce the brown sugar to 1 Tbsp and white sugar to 1 Tbsp. Any more and the cake doesn't turn out and you won't have a topping. -total calories as made is 427. -yes the recipe can be multiplied to make a full cake but the ingredient proportions are different for a full sized cake so it may or may not work out. -and finally...no. You don't have to put a cherry on top. :-) My Links: Google+: https://plus.google.com/+croutoncrackerjacks Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Crouton-Crackerjacks/549691821747028 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/crackerjackj/

What you'll need: 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened*** 1 cup sugar 1 large egg 2 tsp vanilla extract 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder ***Do not use margarine for this recipe. The dough turns greasy and has an off taste.*** Beat butter and sugar in a stand mixer or a large bowl with a handheld mixer until creamy, about a minute. Homemade Caramel Apples

06:27
Apples dipped in rich homemade caramel and then rolled in chopped peanuts. You can use whatever you wish to roll these in after they are dipped...chocolate chips, M&M's, chopped candy bars, etc. You can even drizzle them in chocolate after rolling to make them even more gourmet. Not as hard as one might imagine and no umwrapping of dozens of caramels! What you'll need: 8-10 small to medium apples (I used Gala's) 8-10 skewers, chopsticks or popsicle sticks 1 cup butter (do not use margarine) 2 cups packed brown sugar 1 cup light corn syrup 1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk 2 tsp vanilla extract chopped peanuts or topping of your choice waxed paper or parchment paper candy thermometer Thoroughly wash your apples. Remove the stems and insert a stick into the center of each. Dip the apples in near boiling water for 5-10 seconds and then immediately dry them to remove any wax. This may slightly discolor the apples but that's okay. Lay out a piece of waxed paper or parchment paper and thoroughly grease it with butter. Get your topping ready so you can roll the apples immediately after dipping. In a large heavy bottomed sauce pan, stir together butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly over medium-high heat until butter is melted and insert your candy thermometer. Turn heat down to medium and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, until the caramel reaches 245*F on a candy thermometer. When caramel is done, remove from heat, continuing to stir. Let cool for 1-2 minutes and add vanilla. Immediately dip apples and let excess caramel drip off. Roll into the toppings of your choice and set onto buttered wax or parchment paper. Continue with the remaining apples. If your caramel becomes too thick to dip the apples, warm slightly while stirring constantly over medium heat until you can continue dipping more apples. Let cool for 3-4 hours and enjoy!! If you have any remaining caramel, pour onto a surface sprayed with nonstick spray to cool for some awesome caramel candies!

How to Make Tiramisu!! Classic Italian Dessert Recipe

07:28
Learn how to make tiramisu, the classic Italian dessert! Layers of a decadent mascarpone cheese mixture and lady fingers soaked in espresso and Kahlua. Dessert doesn't get any better than this!! What you'll need: 6 oz water 2 rounded tsp instant espresso powder 50mL Kahlua 6 large egg yolks 1 cup white sugar 2 Tbsp milk 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream 1 tsp vanilla extract 8 oz mascarpone cheese (2) 3.5oz boxes Lady Finger cookies unsweetened cocoa powder In a small bowl, bring water to a boil and add in espresso powder. Whisk until dissolved and add in Kahlua. Set aside to cool. In a double boiler or bain marie, combine egg yolks, sugar and milk. While whisking constantly, cook for 8-10 minutes to cook the egg yolks. Mixture should be smooth but not all sugar will dissolve. This is okay. Set aside and let cool. Once cool, transfer to a large bowl and add in room temperature mascarpone cheese. Mix well until smooth. In a stand mixer or large bowl with a hand mixer, combine heavy cream and vanilla and mix on medium-high speed until a stiff whipped cream is made. Be careful as to not mix too long or you'll get butter. Add to cooled egg and mascarpone mixture and fold gently to incorporate. To assemble the tiramisu, dunk lady fingers into espresso mixture for 2-3 seconds and line the bottom of a 9"x9" baking dish with them. Spread half of mascarpone mixture on top, repeat another layer of soaked lady fingers and then spread remainder of mascarpone mixture on top. Cover and refrigerate for AT LEAST 8 hours! It's best to let sit 24-48 hours. To serve, slice and plate and dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder. Makes 9 servings. Enjoy!! How to Make and Can Homemade Applesauce

06:05
There is nothing like homemade applesauce so learn how to make and can it up for long term storage! If you've never home canned anything before, don't be intimidated as this is perfect for first timers. And by no means do you have to can this. Just as good right after making! As I said in the video, if you don't have a food mill or don't want to use one, peel and core your apples before cooking so all you have to do is process them in the food processor. What I did NOT mention is you can make this chunky applesauce too by just using a potato masher after they've been cooked (peeled and cored). I'm using a Foley food mill which is old school and not the preferred way but it works. Takes some muscle to use it but it does work. I followed the recipe for applesauce found in Ball's Complete Book of Home Preserving (2006) p. 182 and suggest you do the same for exact measurements. What you'll need: -apples -lemon juice -sugar (optional) -canning jars -canning tool kit -water bath canner or pot big enough to hold your jars and tall enough to cover them with at least one inch of water. You'll need 1 Tbsp of lemon juice for every 3 lbs of apples to make sure the acidity is at the proper level to safely water bath can this. Sugar is optional but not needed if using a sweet apple. Tart apples will need sugar and add to taste. Start with 1/2 cup and add more as desired. Yield: I used 4 lbs of apples and got (6) 8oz jars of finished applesauce. State Fair Lemon Shake-Up's!! (homemade lemonade recipe)

02:35
Learn how to make your own lemonade shake-up just like you get at the county or state fair! This is hands down, the BEST lemonade there is! No reason to wait around for the fair to enjoy these as they are super simple to make and cost less than 50 cents! The best part? No cooking and cooling of a simple syrup! What you'll need: 1/2 fresh lemon (wash before using) 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1 cup crushed ice (about 6 regular sized ice cubes) 1 cup cold water Cut the half lemon into 4 pieces. Put into a 16oz glass that you can fit a lid to along with the sugar. With the end of a wooden spoon, mash the lemon pieces with the sugar to extract the juices and oils from the lemon. Add in the crushed ice and cold water. Put lid on and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds or until the sugar is dissolved. Remove lid and enjoy!! You can also make this by the half gallon by using 2 whole lemons, 1 cup sugar, 4 cups crushed ice and 4 cups cold water. Do the same thing as above but remove the lemon pieces if you're not going to serve right away as it will turn the lemonade bitter.

Perfect appetizer for parties, the Super Bowl, football games or just as a snack for the kids. What you'll need: 8 jalapeno peppers 8 oz cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup shredded co-jack cheese 4-5 slices bacon 2 eggs 1/4 cup milk 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 2 cups dry breadcrumbs oil for frying Start by frying the bacon. When nice and crispy, drain on paper towels and let cool. To prep the peppers, cut in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds and veins using a spoon. Use gloves for this is you have open sores or sensitive skin on your hands. Set aside. In a medium bowl, combine the cream and shredded cheese. Add in crumbled bacon and stir to mix well. Put about 1 tablespoon of filling in each pepper half. Press down firmly into the pepper so there are no air pockets. Mound the filling up slightly. Continue with the rest of the pepper halves. In a small bowl add the flour. In another bowl add the breadcrumbs. In a third bowl, combine the eggs and milk. Start the breading process by dipping the poppers into the egg, then the flour. Shake off excess flour and put back into the egg mixture. Let excess drip off and then dredge in the breadcrumbs. Set onto a plate and continue with the rest of the peppers. Let dry for about 10 minutes and then bread again by dipping into the egg again and back into the breadcrumbs. Again, let dry for 10 minutes before frying. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan and heat over medium-high heat until oil reaches 350*F. When the oil is ready, slowly and carefully put a couple poppers into the oil and fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to a paper towel lined plate to drain of excess oil. Serve with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce. Makes 16 poppers. Enjoy!!
