My name is Jake. I am sixteen years old. I grew up, surrounded by love and support from my parents. Sounds idyllic, right? But it just so happened that I had to rescue my little sister from my own mom and dad. How did it even come to this? Listen up. My parents have always been very conservative and you could even say snobbish people. They were also supporters of a very strict and even cruel upbringing. But I didn't really realize this until my sister Cora was born. I never had any problems with my mother and father. To tell you the truth, I have always been their fair-haired boy. My mom was absolutely over-protective. She doted on my every move, which was becoming more and more annoying over the years. So, I thought I could finally breathe a sigh of relief when Cora appeared in our family. I hoped that now my mom and dad would be too busy to track every minute of my life. But not so fast. My first hint was when I saw my father's reaction that he was having a daughter, and not another son. He was so angry and disappointed. He rarely came up to Cora's crib and always got irritated when she cried. My mother wasn't that bad, but she was always tired and depressed. When Cora grew up and turned nine years old, it became even worse. My parents were so unfair and strict with her that I had to stand up for her all the time. Concerning myself, it seemed that I was their only beacon of light and they entrusted me with all their hopes and dreams. And the only thing I wanted was to escape from this hell-hole. And what a stroke of luck! I had a chance to go to a new prestigious school in another area. It was my goal for a long time and I worked hard for it, but I could not get the thought out of my mind that I would have to leave my poor sister all alone with my mom and dad. Of course, my parents were so proud of me, but when Cora heard the news, she was stunned. I saw she was trying to hold back her tears and to smile. She said she was very happy for me. I couldn't bear it and told her: "If you ask me, I will stay." But she wouldn't listen. My little Cora had a big heart. So, I made the hard decision and left home. I made my sister promise that she would call me every single day and tell me about everything. And to a point, she did it. I loved my new school and my new life, and Cora would listen to my funny stories every day. But when I asked her about herself, she was very brief. She would always say that she was fine and try to change the subject. However, over time, our conversations came to a halt. Cora found excuses to not to talk to me every evening and just sent me short messages. But one day there were no more messages. I called and texted her a million times , but there was no answer. I called my mom immediately and asked what was going on, but she said that everything was okay. Cora was just being careless and broke her phone. But I had no doubt that it was not as simple as that. And my fears were confirmed. After a couple of days, I got a message from a strange number. It turned out that it was Cora's classmate. She was very worried because Cora hadn't been to school for over two weeks, and she wanted to know if she was okay. I was terrified. My mother didn't tell me that my sister was sick or anything. Whatever was going on, I felt that I had to rush home as fast as I could. I didn't warn my parents that I was coming, so they were really surprised to see me at the front door the next morning. Mom looked very confused and nervous. I asked her about Cora and she said she that was at school. I told her that I was aware that she wasn't and headed to my sister's room. My mother tried to stop me and to chat me up, but I got to the door and I was shocked by what I saw there. The room was very clean, but all the furniture was gone. There were no toys, no bed, no writing table. There was a small mat on the floor and a small table with an empty bowl, and that was it. Cora wasn't there. I attacked my dad and demanded an explanation. But he stayed cool and said that Cora was nothing but trouble. And this was the only way to raise her. He said that he had prevented her from going to school lately because she couldn't behave herself, she came home later than expected and she had even secretly tried to use makeup! As a punishment he stopped her going to school for the time being until she understood how a decent girl should behave and what she should look like. I've Had 3 Foster Families, And I've Seen Things
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j My name is Chloe and since my mother died, I was forced to change foster families a few times, and honestly, those were a tough couple of years. My Mom was a nice person when she wasn’t drinking. The problem was that she was drinking almost all the time. Honestly, everyone in our family hated her and didn’t want to have anything to do with her because she was always asking for money and causing problems for everyone. So we had almost zero contact with anyone else. When I was 14, she went into the hospital, and, well... she died. I couldn’t believe it and I was in, like, a haze, so it was hard to understand what to do next. At first, they wanted me to move to my grandfather's house, but he said he never wanted anything to do with my Mother or me. He didn’t even come to the funeral. Almost no one did, in fact. It was only me and her brother’s family. He had a wife and a daughter, a year younger than me. Nobody even talked... and I felt so alone. The family of my uncle decided to take me in, although honestly, they really didn’t want to. I didn’t want to either, because I knew they secretly hated me and my Mom. They had all these rules for me, that they never had with their own daughter. We shared a room and she would get angry if I touched her stuff, although I needed some of it. For example, once, I really needed socks because each pair I had was old and had holes, so I borrowed hers and I didn’t have time to ask because I was late. Later, she told her parents that I was stealing her stuff and they got angry at me, even though I tried to explain myself. I didn’t want to spend time “at home,” so I would stay out late into the night, and when I would come home my uncle would be angry at me and then they would let me do even less. I basically could only eat and sleep in their house. I didn’t even have enough clothing to go anywhere. They would sometimes have a family dinner and I wasn’t even invited, so instead I would eat alone in my room. It wasn’t like they were openly against me being with them, but secretly they were. The only thing that helped was my friends from other cities, you know, we talked through Facebook. They would really help me when I was feeling down or when I wanted to cry, which was almost always. Because the conditions were bad in the house and they didn't have enough money to take care of me, soon I was put into foster care. Suddenly, I was living in a completely different house, with a completely different family, and it was even crazier. These two, Mr. and Mrs. Collins, had two other foster children, and they were kinda nervous and aggressive, they would look at me like I was their enemy and we never talked. At the same time, the Collins's would shout at each other ALL THE TIME, like they shouted more than they talked. They were constantly arguing and I was wondering how people like them could become foster parents. They probably did it for the money, because they didn’t provide us with anything more than food. They were strict, too. They even took our phones away, so I lost all of my online friends as well. They only allowed us to use the fridge until certain time of day, so if we got hungry, we had to just deal with it. But we didn’t, and that was how my friendship with my new foster siblings began. One evening Dylan, a boy who was living with us, got grounded and they wouldn’t let him eat for half a day or something. Dylan was laying in his bed, and he was so hungry he couldn’t move. So I asked another boy, Andrew, about sneaking into the kitchen and getting Dylan some food. Andrew agreed and it was the first time he'd ever talked to me. Andrew stayed on the lookout while I veeery slowly opened the fridge and took a little bit of food for Dylan. A few pieces of bread, cheese, and sausages so the Collins's wouldn't notice. I closed the door without making a sound and then Andrew gestured to me that I should hide. We both hid under the table, and our foster father came into the kitchen to grab a bite. Our hearts were pounding! Finally, he was gone and we slowly and quietly returned to our room and gave Dylan food. He was extremely thankful and this changed everything. After that, all of us became friends and we would stand up for each other. One day, Andrew was grounded and it was his turn to be hungry during the evening. This time, Dylan and I snuck into the kitchen. Dylan accidentally hit a chair with his foot and our foster parents came looking to see what was going on. Dylan hid under the table, but I couldn’t manage to do it in time. Mr. Collins caught me, shouted at me for an hour, and locked me in my room for the entire next day. Now even Dylan and Andrew couldn’t help me. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
I Rushed My Brother To The Hospital While My Mother Was Partying

You may think it sounds cool when your mom is more like your friend than your parent, but... it’s not. Not at all. It’s weird to think that I am now 18, older than my Mom was when I was born. My mom had me with her first boyfriend, and he and his family moved away as soon as they found out about my Mom’s... situation. I still remember a little bit about how I was a little girl and my Mom was still finishing school and I was with her sometimes, and I was at her graduation. She tried to apply to college afterward, but it didn’t work out, so she ended up working at a store. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents, but they still had to work, so I couldn’t just be at their place all the time. Some of those memories are good ones, like when her friends would come over and I would hang out with them, but now I understand that they didn’t really like that, it was more like... they tolerated it. But most of my memories are bad ones - like my Mom changing boyfriends pretty often, I don’t even remember some of them. I think the longest was for 2 years, and it ended a little while after my brother was born, when I was 9. Since he was born, I had to learn to take care of him, because my Mom was always working, and my grandparents weren’t always able to take care of us. In a way, I felt more like a parent to my brother than my Mom. As me and my brother got older, she started to leave us alone more often than usual. Sometimes she would even forget to leave money for food, but at least we were fed in school. Yeah, she needed to work, but she would also just party all weekend sometimes, and when she was home and me or my brother tried to ask her to help us with our homework or something, she would say that she was tired. Of course our Mom wasn’t BAD, she would buy us candy or take us somewhere cool, like the zoo or the amusement park, and those would be the best days of my life. I guess she was a good friend, but not really a good Mom. When I was 15 and my brother was 6, something horrible happened. This was the moment when everything changed. After a long week my mom wanted to relax, so she went to a party with her friends, leaving me and my brother home alone, again. My grandparents were busy, and she planned to be out for just a few hours. I don’t know what happened exactly, but my brother started to feel really sick, he was pale and red at the same time, and I didn’t know if it was food poisoning or a fever or something completely different. I PANICKED and tried to call my Mom, but she didn’t answer, so I was searching through the house for some medicine, too scared to call an ambulance because they would ask questions like where our mom was. I tried to call Mom again, and she answered, but it was so loud and all she could say was, “I CAN’T HEAR YOU SWEETIE!” I was super angry at her, but there was nothing I could do... So I took my brother, sat with him on the bus, and went to the nearest hospital. Nurses were asking me where are our parents were and I said that they had to leave for a couple of hours and their phones had died. I didn’t have to lie a lot, but I had to come up with a few things so that they wouldn’t get too suspicious. My brother was generally okay and ended up having something like food poisoning in the end. My Mom came to the hospital and asked what had happened, and you could see that she was scared. We went home and she tried to talk to us and say she was sorry multiple times, but I didn’t want to talk with her. When we arrived home, I finally told Mom everything I thought about her for the first time in 15 years. I said how tired I was of not being able to ever go out on the weekends because I had to babysit my brother, I said how I was tired of her forgetting about us and never helping us with anything, about how we barely had anything, yet she found the time and money to go to parties. I had no friends or anything because I had to babysit my brother every evening. Then my mom told me everything that was bothering her since my birth: she had always dreamed of becoming a lawyer, or just simply going to college, but she made this one mistake that changed her life. She said that she never ever regretted having me or my brother in her life, but sometimes she just wanted to experience the normal life of a young girl. I said that I also wanted to have the normal life of a young girl. My mom started crying and said she was sorry and that she knew she was a bad mother and she was tired of feeling bad about herself all the time - like she was a bad daughter, a bad mother, and a bad person. I Was Switched At Birth With Another Baby
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Emily, and recently her life has started to resemble a TV series. Let’s start from the very beginning. Throughout the 16 years of her life, Emily felt pretty different from both of her parents. She was never like anyone in their family, in fact; not in the way she looked, or even in the way she behaved. For example, both of her parents were really good at sports. Her mom used to be a cheerleader in college, so she’s very muscular and skinny, while her dad has always been good at all kinds of ball games, especially basketball and tennis. But you could hardly call Emily an athlete. She’s not even good at running, and she usually ends up trying to skip her PE classes all the time. At first her parents were worried about this, and even took her to the doctor, but he said that she was completely healthy and normal; she just wasn’t made to become an athlete. As for Emily herself, she hates everything connected with physical activity. She would rather read books or draw something. And she’s really good at natural sciences. This is actually what calms her down and helps her relax. “That’s hardly anything serious,” you’d probably say, but she had always felt pretty uncomfortable when the whole family gathered together and played, let's say, football. She’d just sit somewhere under the trees and sketch another family portrait. This made her feel different from everybody else. And she didn’t look like anyone in her family either. They've all got brown hair, and have blue eyes and dark skin. When her mom gets a tan, she looks like a real goddess. Whereas Emily is a chubby blonde with grey eyes, and any extra sun makes her pasty white skin as red as a tomato. She does love her family though, and she knows that they love her just as much, but there are some times when she feels like she’s in the wrong place. Although the chances are that many of you have felt the same way at least a few times in your life. She found out what was wrong with her through a letter they once got in the mail. That day, she was home alone when the mailman came and brought a letter from the local hospital addressed to her mom. Emily wouldn’t normally have read anyone else’s correspondence, but this letter for some reason made her feel nervous. She thought “What if mom has a serious illness and they just don't want me to find out about it?” That’s why she decided to carefully open up the envelope, so that no one would notice she’d actually done it. The information inside sent her into shock. The letter said that 16 years ago, on the night she was born, the fire alarm went off suddenly at the hospital and that incident made the nurse on duty panic and switch two babies – her and another girl. At first she was scared to confess this because she thought she might lose her job. But now this woman was terminally ill and was going to pass away soon, so she decided to confess her mistake. Reading all that made her almost physically ill. It turned out that Emily’s parents were actually not her parents, and this fact explained why she had always been the black sheep in the family. She just sat there reading and re-reading the letter over and over again and didn’t even notice that her parents had come home. When she saw them she couldn’t do anything except burst into tears and run to her room. She didn’t know how to react or what to say, and was just lying on her bed when her parents knocked at her door. They looked totally dispirited and were clearly worried about her. Her dad kept silent just like her, while her mom tried to find the right words to say. She said that this horrible mistake wouldn’t change anything in their relationship; that she always was and forever would be their beloved daughter, and that she would be the only one to decide whether she wanted to meet the other family or not. She felt frightened and depressed about that letter, but when her parents hugged her Emily realized that she loved them more than anything in the world. That night was torturous for everyone. Emily couldn’t sleep at all. A few times she heard her mom crying in the bathroom and noticed that her dad went outside to smoke, when he had been a non-smoker for as long as she could remember. Recently, she made her decision – she wanted to contact her biological parents. Their address was also included in the letter and her dad called them. It turned out that they had also received the same letter and were about to contact Emily’s family. They decided to meet at a café. You know, she immediately recognized the other “Emily” right from the moment she first saw her. She looked just like her mom... I Stole My Stepmother From My Cruel Dad

My Father is a very successful businessman, but I can’t say that he was ever a good person. My Mother was a young immigrant, around 20 years old when she started to date my Father, who was much older. She was always a good, hard-working woman. She and my Father separated when I was around 8 years old. When this happened my Mom had to go back to her own country and I’ve rarely seen her since then. I wanted to go with her, but my Father decided that I should stay with him so he wouldn’t need to pay child support. I don’t know why it was important for him, because he had so much money. I guess it was pride. I very rarely saw my Mom, but we kept in contact through the years. Recently, I turned 18, and my Father found a new girlfriend. Her name was Victoria. He'd had a lot of them throughout my childhood. All of them were very young and he always treated them horribly. Victoria was also 18 or 19 and she came from a very poor family. I hated her at first because I thought she was a gold digger. After a few months she moved into our house and talks about marriage started. By this point, I had started to get to know her better, and I realized that she was a very sweet and smart girl. Sometimes I would talk with her for hours. She wanted to break out of her poverty-stricken life and her toxic family, and my Father was the best chance for her. She was very grateful to him for giving her this new life." But I knew my Father, and I saw how he was treating her. He would never let her go anywhere, and if we had guests, he would always talk over her. I wanted to save her because I knew how it would end - my Father would leave her as soon as she stopped being “convenient” for him. And honestly, that wasn’t the only reason I wanted to help... I had started to feel like I liked her. I was seeing how unhappy she was locked up in this big house, so when my Father was busy working, I would try to make her happier. I would take her to the movies or to cafes, or even on a simple walk through the park, and she was always smiling and laughing during our time together. However, as soon as we came home and my Father would return, she would be unhappy again - never smiling or laughing. Once. we returned from the movies and for some reason my Father was home early. He was angry and asked what was happening. I tried to explain to him that I was just trying to make Victoria more comfortable, after all, she was a part of our family and technically my stepmother. He warned us that if something like this ever happened again, everyone would face repercussions, and I would have to leave his house because I was already 18. Victoria was scared and I was angry. He was acting like she was his property! Over the next few weeks Victoria barely spoke to me and I felt terrible because I had feelings for her. At the same time, I realized that I simply couldn’t live with this horrible man anymore, who never cared for me, my Mom, or anyone else except himself. I decided that it was time for me to leave the house for good and to start my own life. But I didn’t want to leave Victoria. I told her that we could run away together since she wasn’t married to him. He would just play with her and then leave her with nothing, just like he did with every other woman in his life. I started to pack my things slowly and to plan where I would go next. I tried to slowly work on it for several days, because I hoped that Victoria would finally agree to come with me. And one day, she came into my room and shyly asked if I had a plan. I told her all about it - I had friends and contacts everywhere, and some money saved. We could start working, then try to get an education, and slowly build the life that we wanted. She finally agreed to leave with me. She collected her stuff very quickly - she didn’t have a lot of it, to be honest. All this time she was looking around, scared that father would return any minute. We finally finished up packing the rest of our things and left for the bus station to catch a bus to another city where one of my friends had offered to take us in for a while. I was so happy on the way there, I knew that our life wouldn’t be easy, but it was so much better than living with a man like my Father. I actually felt guilty that I didn’t do this sooner and lived with him for so many years while knowing how bad he was. Victoria was completely silent the whole time. I tried to cheer her up and she tried to smile, but she was definitely frightened. When we arrived at the bus station, I kept trying to calm her down and tell her that she wasn’t alone... My Mom Left Me In The Airport When I Was 3 And I've Never Seen Her Since
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello, guys! My name is Mathew, for now, though I used to have another name until I was three. As well as another last name, another home, and... another mother. How did this happen to me? Let me tell you. I vaguely remember my early childhood. I was adopted, when I was very little. But I remember the day that I got lost, the day when my mother left me. I was very happy that morning, because my mom said we were going to Disney World on a big plane. I was so excited! When we got to the airport my mother placed a little suitcase on the floor and sat me on it. She said she would be back in a minute. But that minute lasted for ages. I was sitting there, squeezing my little red backpack with my eyes filling up with tears. I am not sure how much time passed, but soon I found myself surrounded by a lot of people, police officers, airport workers... and they were all asking me questions. But I couldn't remember my mother's name or even my own. I couldn't even speak properly at that time, to be honest. And in addition to that, I was stunned and shocked. I also didn't know where I lived, so, I wasn't much of a help to the police, who were trying hard to find my family. They checked the suitcase and my backpack and found a note, which said: "Take care of him." with no name or address on it. Time went on, but it seemed like nobody was looking for me, and my mother was gone and was never found. The airport workers tried to follow her with the cameras, but she just vanished without a trace. After the police lost any hope of finding my relatives, I was adopted by a very nice family. I got another name and a new home. My new parents gave me all their love and tried to do their best to help me to forget that horrible day at the airport. It's been eleven years now, which have been absolutely happy and I grew up to be a totally normal kid. Of course, gloomy memories hit me from time to time and that painful question: 'Why?' was a constant question in my mind, until I finally found out the answer. My new mom and dad are pretty rich and busy people, and since we live in a big house, we've always had maids. We had a wonderful maid, Mrs. Ally, for many years, but she left us a while ago because she moved back to where she was from. I was very upset about it, because we were really close. She was the one I used to spend my time with when my parents were at work. My parents placed an ad on the internet, and we got a call that very day. The next morning a very nice young woman appeared at the front door. I liked her at first sight. Her smile was so charming and it seemed like I'd known her for ages. Though when she talked to me, it seemed like she was a little bit nervous and uncomfortable the whole time. She came to clean the house every day and soon after we became good friends. She didn't tell me much about herself, but she always complained that her life was not a bed of roses and that she was always out of money. Once she came up to me and asked if I could lend her some money because she had gotten into trouble. She looked so embarrassed that I got really worried for her and gave her my pocket money. Shortly after that she asked me for money again, and again, to the point that after a little while of this, I had nothing left. So when she asked me to do her a favor again, I offered to talk to my parents, because I believed they would not refuse to help a poor woman that was in trouble. I was telling her how kind and generous my mother was, when suddenly she burst into tears and cried out: "I am your mother!" I got choked up. I literally could not believe my ears. She told me how much she loved and missed me and that she knew I was adopted and continued to watch me all those years, but didn't have the courage to reveal herself. She said that she was so young and stupid and was not capable of raising a child. I think she said she was sorry more than a million times. These words immediately brought all my memories back. I became the same three year old boy, squeezing his red backpack and waiting for his mom. She hugged me tightly and said she would never ever leave me again and that she had come up with a great plan. She said we could start all over again and leave together, but we needed money for living. She suddenly became very strict and serious. She said: "You have to steal your father's credit card and find out the password. We will take the money and run and have a happy life together, Rob!" It turned out that my real name was Rob. I Answered My Dad's Phone And It Killed Our Family
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Evan and right now, everything in his life is falling apart. His family, his studies, everything...and all of it happened just because he helped his father at his work. He wishes now that he could just travel back in time or erase what he found out about him from his memory. It was hard to find anyone who didn’t admire Evan’s father. Everyone did. His mother, Evan himself, his colleagues and partners. You see, he was a rich businessman with his own company. But he started from NOTHING. So of course, it’s hard NOT to admire a man who achieved everything on his own and still managed to be a loving husband and father. And he totally wanted to be like him. Evan didn’t want to take what he had for granted; he wanted to be as hard-working as his dad was. And his parents knew this. So his mom came up with the idea of asking his dad to let him be an unpaid intern at his company during the summer, to learn the ropes. Evan loved the idea, and he thought his dad would love it too. But he turned out to be so...hesitant about it. Like, he said that he wasn’t sure if Evan would be needed there and said that he should enjoy his life while he’s still young. Anyway, he and his mom finally persuaded his dad to let him be an intern, and he worked very hard to help with everything he could. And soon, everyone at the office started to like him so much, saying how much he resembled his father with his industriousness. And he could see that his father was very proud of him. “I passed the test!” he thought to himself, and it made him work even harder. He knew that he was working for his own future. But...soon something happened. You see, his father was very strict about separating his career and his personal life. He would never talk about his work while at home, because he was fully concentrating on his family, being a perfect father and a perfect husband. One day his father went out to some meeting, and he was supposed to take Evan home that day. Evan thought he was busy, so he decided to just wait for him in his office, since it was unlocked and he had been in there many times before. While he was waiting there, the phone rang. It was in his desk drawer, so he decided to ignore it. But it kept calling again and again, like every 3 minutes, and he got tired of it, so he decided to answer and to say that his dad was away, thinking that maybe it was his mom. He opened the drawer and looked at the phone, and it was...weird. You see, his father had two phones. One was his personal phone, and the other his work phone. And this phone...well, Evan had never seen that one before. He answered the phone and a woman’s voice said: “Hey...want to come over today, darling?” He quickly turned the phone off. It wasn’t his mom. He didn’t know what to do or think, so he just left the office and never came back. His mom tried to ask him what had happened, but he just couldn’t tell her. And he knew that his father knew, but he just acted like nothing happened. That was the reason he hadn’t wanted him to work for him… From that point on Evan avoided his parents as much as he could, because it was too painful for him to see them talking to each other and smiling. And he couldn’t just tell his mom, because he had found out about it by snooping around. He started to hate his dad, and even his mom for not seeing what was happening. One day, Evan’s mom confronted him for avoiding them and spending a lot of time out of the house. She probably thought that he’d picked up bad habits or something. He tried to explain, but she was worried about him, and started to check his bags and everything else for things like cigarettes. His dad just kept silent, because he knew what was really happening and why Evan was acting that way. But he didn’t say anything, and Evan could feel his respect for him dwindling away completely. He was so angry, so one day he just said: “ask DAD what's going on.” There was silence for a long time. Then they left and went into their room, and he had to listen to them shouting at each other for the whole night. And it was his fault, of course...was it bad that they were living a lie if they were happy? Then they tried to act normal, like nothing happened, but he saw how everything had changed. After a few months, his mom said that they were getting a divorce, and she didn’t really explain, because she knew that he knew. Now they live separately, and Evan lives with his mom, and she’s very unhappy. His dad called him recently and told him that he’d done the right thing by telling her the truth. He also said that he couldn’t work normally after the divorce and that he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to keep the company. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
My First Period Turned Into A Nightmare
SUBSCRIBE If you like my channel: ► https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Emma, and this is the most shameful story of her life so far. A lot of girls will be able to relate to this story, as it’s about her first period. When she thinks about it now, she laughs – but at the time, she was absolutely sure that her life was over. Please don’t laugh at her! Emma comes from a very religious family, and her parents were never keen on talking about physiological stuff. Her mom loved her a lot, of course, but it seems she was terrified that at some point she would need to talk to her daughter about periods and sex (she probably gets goose bumps even pronouncing the word) and all things like that. Emma turned 11 convinced that children come from nowhere and just materialize in women’s bellies. All in all, she never pondered the concept of puberty or her changing body. One morning when she woke up and went to the bathroom, she saw some strange brown stains DOWN THERE. She had no idea what they could be and became scared. Her first thought was that she needed to ask for help from her parents. But the idea of coming out of the bathroom, going to her mom and trying to explain what had happened to her – including saying the word for her intimate parts – was just too embarrassing. Asking for her dad’s help wasn’t even an option, and she had no siblings to consult. So despite being really scared, she decided to wait and see if the problem would disappear on its own. Emma went to school, but she couldn’t really concentrate on her studies. She just sat focusing on her body and trying to understand how grave her condition was. It didn’t occur to her to ask for advice from her classmates – it was still too shameful to mention WHERE the stains were coming from. A couple of times, she went to the toilet and saw new brown stains. She didn’t feel sick though, so she thought that she should wait for some time before panicking. Then in the evening came the pain. That awful dull nagging pain every girl knows. Now, she thought, it’s time to panic. She sat down at her computer and boldly searched for “stomach pain with blood”. At the age of 11, she wasn’t very knowledgeable about anatomy, and was sure that the stomach was somewhere in the belly. As you can imagine, “an ulcer” was the most optimistic result she got. So now she knew she was going to die, but asking for help still seemed too shameful. So Emma decided to sleep on it...but obviously, that night she didn’t get any sleep. Emma went to school the next day feeling all nervous and panicky, because that morning when she had checked she still had new brown stains on her underwear. Her condition didn’t get worse though, and she ended up being distracted by her classes after all. Until the moment in her math class when she felt something wet, and ran to the bathroom. She discovered a Niagara Falls of flaming red blood. She nearly fainted, her hands trembled, and she sobbed hysterically. So she ran to the school nurse’s office and explained that she was bleeding, that she had an ulcer, and was going to die! By that point she was no longer ashamed to share her problem with anyone. At first, the nurse seemed really worried. But then as she asked Emma in detail what was bothering her, and she seemed visibly relieved. “I don’t want to disappoint you, but you’re not going to die – you’re just having your first period.” Her first...what? “A period. Don’t you know what a period is?” She was quite surprised by her ignorance, but explained patiently what it was and how to deal with it, and also gave her some pads to start off with and explained how to use them. Obviously, the news that she was not going to die made Liz very happy. But as she was about to leave, she asked Liz if she could ask her mom to come in for a private talk. After giving her mom the news about her first period and seeing that she was embarrassed, she passed on the message from the school nurse. She had no idea what they were going to talk about, and was just so happy to know that she was healthy again. Only several years later, when her mother told her about sex, and was visibly uneasy about doing so, she confessed that the nurse had told her that explaining these things was crucial for teens, and that she insisted that her mom would have to overcome her embarrassment and find a way to explain these important things to her daughter. Emma feels very grateful to that nurse, as now she understands that there’s nothing shameful about her body, and if we have important questions that we need to ask, we shouldn’t keep them to ourselves. And also, it’s always better when parents answer our questions rather than someone else who doesn’t know us as well as they do. Let us know in the comments if your first period was also embarrassing, and share this story with other girls so that they know there’s nothing to be afraid of about periods. I Thought This Hobo Was A Thief But Then He Saved Me
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? Her sister works at a small convenience store that's open 24/7, right below the apartment they live in. Their parents work a lot, so she spends most of her free time there, especially during the summer break. The owner, Mr. Garrison, doesn't mind her hanging out there; he probably sees her almost like another employee because of how much she helps her sister. So, one time Jess was alone in the store - her sister and Mr. Garrison had gone to the storeroom and left her in charge. She was minding her own business when she noticed a very suspicious-looking man walk in. He was dressed poorly and looked like a typical hobo, with a messy beard and old ragged clothes. He was wandering around, looking at stuff but not picking anything up. He was acting really weird, so she decided to follow him and find out what he was up to. He tried to avoid her and hide between the aisles, but she kept onto him. When he headed toward the exit, she saw her chance to catch him red-handed. But she needed to find her sister or Mr. Garrison first. So she rushed to the storeroom, but instead just ran straight into another customer – a rich-looking lady wearing a fur coat in the middle of March. She knew instantly that she was one of those “demanding” customers who could cause a scene out of thin air. She didn't even have time to say a word before she grabbed her arm and started yelling at her for “not doing my job” and “running around like a madman.” Jess told her that she didn't even work there and that the real cashier would be back soon. But that made her even angrier. “You're a lazy brat! You're lying to me so you can get away with it!” She was so loud that Jess was afraid that Mr. Garrison would hear it, and she didn't want to cause problems for her sister, so she did her best to calm her down. She tried to be professional and asked her what she could help her with, but the woman was relentless. She was going on and on about what an irresponsible and useless worker Jess was. And just when she was on the verge of crying, the suspicious guy suddenly intervened. “Leave the girl alone. She's clearly too young to work here,” he said. That didn't work and now she was yelling at both of us, saying that he was just covering for her to get her out of trouble. So now they were arguing about whether she worked there or not. Meanwhile, she was extremely confused about why a thief would stand up for her. She was sure he had stolen something, she just didn't know what exactly. She started having doubts. Maybe she was wrong about him? Or was he doing it so she'd let him go with stolen goods? Finally, Mr. Garrison and her sister walked in and asked what was going on. She tried to answer, but the guy and the lady started shouting again. Mr. Garrison tried to make them be quiet, but without any success. Out of everything that was said, she understood only that the suspicious guy accused the crazy lady of stealing something and then yelling at her to cover it up. Woah, Jess hadn't seen that coming. He was trying to shift the blame! Like, she was grateful that he was standing up for her, but accusing the lady was pretty low. Mr. Garrison told her sister to check the surveillance cameras to see if what the guy said was true. Jess couldn't understand why he believed the guy. Obviously, this respectable and dignified woman would never do such a thing. She was crazy, yes, but surely not a thief. Although, on second thought, there was something fishy about her. She was trying to close her purse and leave when Mr. Garrison showed up, when just a minute ago she had demanded to see him. It turned out that she had stolen some expensive cheese, and also a bottle of wine. And when Jess ran into her, she was putting it into her bag. Why she did it was beyond her understanding. She certainly looked rich enough to pay for all the things she tried to steal. Then Mr. Garrison called the police, and conveniently they were just around the corner. At first, the crazy lady tried to deny everything and said that they had put the things in her purse on purpose. When her sister showed everyone the recording from the surveillance cameras, she demanded that they arrest the other guy because he had definitely stolen something too. Finally, she started crying and yelling again, and for some reason demanded a lawyer. The police officers weren't impressed by her acting skills and just escorted her out. My Gf Was Covered In Bruises. Her Parents Weren't Supposed To Know Why!

SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi, I'm Daniel. I wanna tell you a story of how I was accused of beating my girlfriend. I had been dating Dinah for a couple of months and everything was great, except for her parents. The first time I met them her father tried to strangle me for kissing her. I didn't blame him because I've always looked much older and it was easy to mistake me for an adult. I even had to show him my school ID to prove that I was only 16. She said they were just being protective but one time they went overboard with their "protection." So, everything started with us wanting to go to a concert. Obviously, her parents wouldn't let her go and I told her that it was fine, we would just watch the live stream on the net. But she called me a ""quitter"" and said that she had already bought tickets anyway and if I wanted I could stay home like a wet blanket. So, of course, I went. I lied and swore to her parents that I was taking her to the theater and like a good boyfriend I would return her home safely. At the concert, we were having a great time when suddenly Dinah got dragged into the mosh pit. I ran after her and pulled her out of it, but she still got pushed around by the crowd. She seemed to enjoy it too much and I had to stop her from rushing right back. Don't get me wrong, she's very tough and fierce for someone who's only 5 feet tall. But people had already thrown her around like a ball and I didn't want to risk her getting hurt. On our way home though I noticed that she was covered in bruises. Most were tiny, but one that was forming on her ribs promised to be huge. She started to freak out saying that if her parents noticed something, they would kill her, me, and probably the band, just for good measure. So I gave her my hoodie to cover the damage and then walked her home. Later that night she texted me that everything was fine. But when she didn't call me the next day, I started to worry. Days went by and I couldn't reach her. She wasn't answering my calls or reading my messages. And I left dozens of them. I didn't know whether we screwed up big time or if she was just mad at me for something. I honestly hoped I was the problem and her parents didn't find out we went to the concert. There was only one way to know though, so I went to ask her what was going on face to face. I even brought flowers. I figured that I would give them to either Dinah or to her mom depending on who was mad at who. Also, it couldn't hurt to show them what a considerate young man I was. When I finally got to Dinah's house I was met by her furious father who, for some reason, had a shovel in his hands. He started calling me names and threatening to bury me alive in his backyard if I ever went near Dinah again. I didn't get why I was receiving such a warm welcome from him and said I didn't know what he was talking about. He then asked me how Dinah got all those bruises on her body. I had never been a smooth talker but this time I just overdid myself at being a useless liar. I couldn't come up with anything believable, so I just said she slipped down the stairs. Not surprisingly, he didn't believe me and tried to threaten me again, this time promising to rip my head off, so I figured now was the perfect time to retreat. My Sister Behaved Strange And Then Disappeared
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hey, guys! My name is Chris. Today I have finally decided to tell you this story. You all probably used to play in a treehouse or a fort when you were a kid. Little did I know that one day I would find something that would turn the lives of everyone I love upside down, in my treehouse. My parents have always been very decent people, so the purpose of their life was to raise worthy and well-mannered children. Sadly for them, it didn't work with me. I have always been a wild child. I was neither a good student nor a right-minded young man. Unlike my older sister Molly. She would do everything to please our mom and dad. Her reputation at school was spotless. Looks and smarts! But everybody's got a skeleton in their closet. This all happened when my sister was in her last year of school. It was such a big moment for our family – so many plans and expectations. My sister seemed to be really happy and excited, but I saw that there was something wrong with her. First , I noticed that she stopped eating in the mornings and even mom's pancakes, which were her favorite, could not tempt her to eat a bite. She looked tired and exhausted all the time. When I asked her what was going on, she told me she was studying hard day and night to try to get into college. And I found that answer to be reasonable and comforting, but there was still something else. One night, I heard her talking with her boyfriend Tim. And as far as I could hear, it was not a pleasant conversation. And for the record, I was the only person who knew my sister actually had a boyfriend. This secret was shared with me in the strictest confidence from our parents. When I asked her what had happened, she just said: ""He is not my type."" Not her type? They've been madly in love with each other for such a long time! I just didn't get it! But then it got worse. Molly became so irritable and any little thing would just set her off. We didn't go for walks or watch movies at night anymore, though we have always been really honest and close to each other. Now she would rather spend her time in bed with a huge plate of sandwiches. It looked like my sister had gotten depressed. Really depressed. I was totally convinced that Tim was to blame. Did he offend her or treat her badly? Whatever happened between those two, I had to figure it all out. I got in touch with Tim and he agreed to meet me. To my surprise I found him lost and heartbroken. He had no idea why Molly had booted him all of a sudden and he hoped I was going to give him some kind of an explanation. So I was left with the suspense killing me even more. Then one day my sister came up to me and said: "We have to talk." First we were walking silently, but then she asked: "Do you remember the treehouse we used to play in when we were little? I wonder if it's still there." Of course, I remembered. We easily found it and got inside. It was still the same. We had a lot of happy memories in that place. I was so happy to see my sister smiling again, when she suddenly said: "I'm not going to go to college, Chris. Don't tell mom and dad. And please don't be sad when I leave." These words just left me completely speechless. What on Earth could force my sister to make that decision?! Why and where did she want to go? No matter how I tried to get the truth out of her she refused to tell me. Molly's words tortured me all night, and it didn't take her long to turn them into reality. The next day she didn't come back from school on time. When my mom called her, we heard the phone ring from her room. We went upstairs to see that her room was a complete mess. The closet was almost empty and my sister's phone was sitting on the night stand and ringing. Our father called Molly's teacher and it turned out that she hadn't even been to school that day. My parents were absolutely shocked and discouraged. They immediately asked me if I knew anything about it. I couldn't bottle it up inside myself anymore and told them the whole story right away. Mom almost fainted. She never had the slightest idea that anything was wrong with her little girl. She wanted to call the police at once, but my dad was more reasonable. He didn't want to spoil my sister's reputation, so we decided to start looking for her ourselves first. I called Tim and all of Molly's friends, but nobody knew where she was. Mom was on the phone all day long and dad was driving around the neighborhood. It was already getting dark, but Molly never showed up. I was in despair. The thought that I would never see my sister again was killing me. So I was just wandering around when I found myself not far from our treehouse. My Best Friend Is Homeless
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Charlie, and he wants to tell you about his best friend. You might think that this is going to be an ordinary school story about best buddies, but you’d be wrong. The thing is that Charlie made friends with a homeless man, and they managed to help each other a lot. Listen to his unbelievable story. The day was as horrible as any other school day when Charlie had a physics class. He hated physics for two reasons. The first one was that he didn’t understand it at all. It was the only subject that made him feel totally clueless. The second reason is connected to the first one. Charlie’s dad is a physicist and he thinks that a son who doesn’t have straight A’s in physics is a reason to feel ashamed as a parent, as a scientist and generally as a human being. Charlie had tried everything to explain to him that it was just not his thing. He even tried taking private physics classes. Nothing helped. That day was the last straw. Charlie brought home a D in physics again, and was gearing himself up for another boring discussion about “priorities” with his dad. But things went awfully wrong. That time his dad literally became hysterical, yelling “I don’t need a son as stupid as you! I don’t have a son anymore!” Well, THAT was what you call an overreaction. And needless to say, Charlie was really VERY offended. So he packed up things for a couple of nights and stormed out of his home. It seemed a nice idea to him at the time – he simply wanted to spend a couple of nights on the street. The nights were warm, and his parents would quickly find him if he went to any of his friends. He was sure that by the time he returned, his dad would have calmed down. He left his phone at home, of course. Charlie’s plan didn’t go as well as he imagined it would. It was already evening and he was walking around the streets looking for a place to sleep. It wasn’t easy. In the end, he opted for the old classic of sleeping under the bridge. When he saw that there was already a group of ominous-looking homeless people there, he realized that his enthusiasm for the idea had already disappeared. He was starting to seriously consider going back home, when an elderly man came up to him and asked: “Welcome, son. Are you looking for some place to sleep?” He had a friendly smile, and seemed quite ok – he had a clean face, and old but neat clothes. Charlie decided to stay for a while and joined him near the fire. He was evidently curious, and asked him how he had come to spend the night all alone away from his parents. Charlie felt that his story was utterly stupid, but he just spat it out all in one go. The old man was pretty amused. “So, you have problems with physics, eh? What’s the topic you got a D for?” “Newton’s second law”. “But why? It turned out that his new friend’s name was Bob. He was a retired physics teacher and had moved there from another state. He used up all his savings to buy a house, but it was a fraudulent deal, and he had nowhere to live and no family to turn to. He also wanted to get a job, but couldn’t because he was homeless. After all this, he joined up with a group of other homeless people and stayed positive. His story was so inspiring! To be honest, Charlie felt like an idiot. “Look”, he said, “I need to go home. I’ve made a mistake and now it’s late already.” Bob said it was a wise decision and that he would accompany him. As they were walking home, Charlie was thinking of asking Bob to give him some physics lessons – this would be a job for him, and a relief for Charlie. But he forgot it all at once when he opened the door and saw his mom crying and his dad standing embarrassed in the background. The hugs finished, and Charlie noticed that Bob was silently walking away. “Wait, wait!” he called out. He invited him in, explained to his parents who Bob was, and made him a cup of coffee – it was the least he could do. His dad seemed genuinely interested and started a conversation about physics. As for his mom, she was just thankful that he got back home safe and sound. So this is how that day finished. And this is how he met his best friend Bob. So, that’s it? you ask. You said you helped each other, and now it seems that it’s only he who has helped you! But there’s a good conclusion to the story. Charlie’s dad liked Bob a lot, and he proposed a solution – at his office they needed a lab technician, so he offered the position to Bob. That way he could rent an apartment. At the same time, Charlie asked Bob to give him private physics lessons, and soon both his marks and his relationship with his dad improved. Both his life and Bob’s would be much worse if they hadn’t met each other, and Charlie is proud to say that Bob, an elderly ex-homeless guy, is his best friend, and he hopes that Bob thinks the same. I Got Pregnant At 15 And My BF Is Shocked
★ Subscribe My Channel: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi, I am Liz and I want to tell you about a story that I thought to be the end of my life but it turned out to be a new beginning. To make a long story short, I got pregnant when I was 15. Shocking, isn’t it? It all happened in high school, in my junior year. The year of sweet 16, driving permits, and junior prom. The year I met my first boyfriend and got into a naive, head-spinning first love. We weren’t very attentive about contraception, neither were really well-informed on the matter. Then for a few weeks I had no period, but I didn't worry as my cycle was still immature. Until one morning my reflection surprised me. Had my fairy godmother come? My breasts looked fantastic. A lightbulb went off. Suddenly all I could think was, I might be pregnant. An ad for a clinic that was offering free pregnancy tests grabbed my attention, and I went. A friend drove me. The woman walked me through the pregnancy test. A tiny plus sign materialized. Then my world crumbled. I put on a fake smile and kept moving through a resemblance of normal life. It was only a matter of time before my parents figured it out: my breasts were growing; my stomach would soon follow. I wasn't sure how my parents would react and I didn’t want to be influenced by their opinion on the matter. Now I regret I wasted time in doubts. In the meantime the gossip was spreading. Odd calls and stalking from concerned teens I knew and even some worried parents threatening to involve my parents in order to prevent me from drastic solutions. I was infuriated – not that I was tending to them but it was supposed to be totally my decision! What’s more, in my understanding it was me who was to inform my parents so that is how we finally had a talk. They were inevitably distressed about the pregnancy but vowed to support me whichever path I chose. And after my boyfriend told his family, his mom called mine. They pledged unwavering support. I would have been lost without all of them. Even with all that love, life as a pregnant teen was awful. Sixteen was not sweet. Dreams of college vanished. I was ashamed. I was depressed. September arrived; the school year began without me. I finished the year with home-schooling, isolated. Friends visited, but it hurt to hear about their life without me. By that point, my boyfriend and I didn't like each other very much. We disagreed on literally everything. So when I came to delivery I was in pieces. My daughter arrived two weeks early after 23 hours of labor. I'm not sure how I tolerated it, but my mom, my boyfriend, and my boyfriend's mom were by my side. Throughout all of this, I endured lots of public contempt. I was lucky to have had endless support. I can't imagine what life is like for girls who are forced into motherhood or embrace it alone. Some time now has passed. My boyfriend grew into a wonderful dad. Eventually, as we became adults, we parted our ways, but he's there for our girl and he travels hours to spend time with her. He's someone that could be counted on. People often assume that since I had a child as a teen I must be pro-life. I'm not. It was my choice to be a mother, not something forced upon me. It was a choice that I am grateful I had. Wish any teenage mom could tell an inspiring story like this.

Recently, I lost my best friend to cancer. This is not a story with a happy ending, but it’s not a sad story, or story about sickness either. It's a story about bravery. Me and David have been inseparable since we were little kids. He was the funniest and coolest guy I knew, and we were planning on going to college together and living close to each other forever. But it all changed when David was diagnosed with cancer. I tried to find out more, like all the details, but he just didn’t want to talk about it. He said that he has one or two years to live, and he really wants to LIVE while he can. I couldn’t believe it and everything in my life turned upside down. I also couldn’t believe how calm David was after finding out this terrible news. But I took his request to heart and decided that it was only me, his best friend, who could fulfill his it. I started to plan everything we should do until he began to get worse, but then I realized that this wasn’t that easy, because when I would ask David what he wanted to do, he would just shrug his shoulders and say “I want to have fun. So I thought “then let’s have fun!” I planned a perfect few days for us – we would go to the movies and see everything he wanted, then we would go to an amusement park, and then spend some time in our favorite park where we used to pretend we were knights and superheroes when we were kids. It was more like a forest than a park, really. That day should have ended with pizza and video games. Everything was super fun up until we got to the park and we were remembering all the good times we had and telling stupid jokes that only best friends could understand. We passed an elderly woman who we started calling grandma. She was all alone, feeding birds in the park. After a few circles through the park, we noticed that grandma was acting really weird. She… dropped her cane and was barely standing. Then she fell down to the ground. We were shocked! We ran up to her, checking to see if she was okay, but she wasn’t answering. She was unconscious. David and I looked at each other, both in panic mode. “What should we do?” I asked. I stood up and started walking in circles, saying “David, what should we do? What should we do!?” David was just sitting beside grandma and thinking. He was as scared as I was, but he was very calm at the same time. We should call the ambulance!” he said. I said “but they can’t reach here, the road is too small for an ambulance!” But David repeated “call the ambulance! We will take her to the road.” I gasped for air, I fumbled for my phone, and tried to use it, but my palms were sweaty and trembling, and I couldn’t really do it. David took his phone, called an ambulance, and explained the situation. Then both of us grabbed the grandma by her hands and started lifting her up. She was heavy, and it was hard to pick her up because she was unconscious. Finally, we were able to lift her and started slowly moving her toward the road. Every step was hard, and we had to make a short pause after every few steps. At some point I was seeing that David couldn’t take it any longer, his knees were trembling because he was feeling weak. He was panting and I asked “David, maybe we should just wait for the ambulance!” David shouted “No!” He suddenly stood upright and started going faster, and I did the same. I couldn’t stop looking at the determination in David’s eyes… Soon, we were beside the road, and the ambulance arrived after a few minutes, but it felt like half an hour. We continued to hold her, and then the paramedics put her in their car and they let us ride with her. In the hospital, we were patiently waiting for the doctors to say anything. Grandma’s daughter came and started asking what happened, and we told her the whole story. She was panicking, her face was getting redder, and she could barely hold in her tears. After several hours, doctors told us that grandma was alive, and she would need to stay in the hospital for a few days, but thankfully, we were there in time to save her. The doctor thanked us, and the daughter hugged us both and said, “thank you so much, boys, I can’t even imagine what… could've happened. Thank you.” She was hugging us and crying for a long time, and I must admit that we also couldn’t hold back our tears, especially David. We left a while after that and she asked for our numbers so she could thank us somehow later. Afterward we were walking home, and I said “sorry that our day was ruined. It was supposed to be your perfect day…” David smiled and said “are you joking? This was THE BEST DAY of my life. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

I think my story might be helpful since sometimes we just can't see how a relationship hurts us so much. My mom’s name is Nancy, and with me being born she became a teenage mom in college. She was only 18 when she moved into her college dorm where she met my biological father. At 19, mom got pregnant, and her boyfriend moved back in with his parents who lived in a neighboring state. He made ONE phone call several days afterward to tell my mom that he didn't want to be a part of it. So mom was left all alone three weeks into her pregnancy. She had paid for one month's rent for herself but couldn't afford a second month, so she had nothing to do but move back in with her mom. And that decision was not as easy as it seems. The thing is: my grandma Lucy is a very complicated person. She raised my mom alone too, but before that, during the 70s she earned some money, then invested it right, got lucky with it, and by the end of the 80s she was a very rich woman with a huge house and a nine- I have to say that growing up I did not think that anything was wrong. Grandma had always been super nice to me, which is a kind of a paradox really. She bought me expensive toys and clothes, let me get away with stuff she’d have killed my mom for, and almost never raised her voice with me. And what happened between her and my mom… I never really thought things could be any other way. My perception started to change when I made friends with Jessica, a girl I met at my karate lessons. Every week she’d invite me to her house, which was like, three times smaller than grandma’s, but what made it way more comfortable was her family. There were four of them living together: her parents, herself, and her grandmother. And what shocked me most was the way her mom and her grandma treated each other. It was a very loving and emotional relationship… like they were best friends. And I had something to compare it with. I started to notice a lot of things. So when I stepped back and looked and my mom and my grandmother, the picture was horrifying. Grandma was manipulative, abusive, and egotistical. When my mom tried to find a job for herself to become more independent, grandma would get all hysterical, telling my mom that she was being ungrateful and wanted to leave her to die alone. When mom tried to go out more (including on dates), grandma would start a fight again, blaming her that she was not being a good mother and that she wanted to leave her daughter for another man, who’d just leave her in a couple of weeks anyway. My mom was trapped both financially and psychologically. So I started to think about what I could do to get us out of this. Of course the first option was just talking to my mom. And I tried, I really tried several times, but then she would get all aggressive saying that it was none of my business. This was obviously a defense mechanism. Then I started to think about how I could get help from the outside. My biological father was never an option, but there was another man whose name was mentioned in our family all the time. It was my grandpa Jack. Every other week grandma would talk about what an evil and terrible person he was, and I thought – if that’s what my grandma says about him, then he must be the nicest man on the planet! OK, I’m kidding there, but I really felt that meeting him might be helpful. We all knew where he lived, since grandma would somehow get updates on his life regularly, so there was no problem finding him. The problem was finding the right words since I had never met him before. But my mom’s happiness was at stake, so I had to do this. One afternoon I went to his house and introduced myself. He was astonished, but in a very positive way. He invited me in to have dinner with his family. He had a lot of stuff to get off his chest. It turned out that when my mom was seven, Jack realized the marriage was not working out (or I guess he just could not take it anymore) and suggested to my grandma that they get a divorce peacefully and raise their child together. She became hysterical. And after that one conversation, she put all of her effort into getting a divorce and prohibiting my grandpa from communicating with his daughter in court. And she succeeded. He could not keep in touch with my mom until she was like eighteen, and he’d been suffering for all those years. When the ban ended and mom went to college, grandpa wrote her letters, and she even wrote several back. They were had planned to meet really soon, but mom got pregnan... My Best Friend Turned Out To Be Toxic
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Meet Jenny. Sometimes people are not who they seem to be, like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Her story is about a person exactly like that. About a year ago, Jenny’s family moved to a new city, so inevitably she had to adapt to a new school, and the hardest part was making new friends. Jenny got along with her classmates, but not to the point where she actually became friends with them. That all changed during one of her classes, when she sat next to Rachel. She stood out compared to the other kids – she dressed differently, talked differently and seemed much smarter than everybody else. Jenny really wanted to get acquainted with her, but didn’t know how. Luckily enough though, Rachel did it herself! One day, she passed a note to Jenny with a question: “what’s your favorite band?” She gave her answer, and then Rachel wrote her favorite one. They kept exchanging little letters like this, and it was a very cute way of getting to know each other, especially when you’re bored in class. Long story short, Jenny learned that they had a lot in common, and they immediately hit it off. In just a few weeks they became best friends. Soon everybody took it for granted that Rachel and Jenny were always together – at school, outside school, and if someone invited one of them to a party, they knew that both of them would come. It was magical! Jenny looked up to Rachel – she knew everything, from fashion to movies and art. She wanted to be a little bit like her. What could go wrong? But soon, the first warning signals began to appear. Jenny had been saving money for months to buy these new awesome sneakers, and she was super-happy when she could finally afford them. She proudly went to school in them, and she couldn’t wait to show them to Rachel! Jenny expected that Rachel would be happy for her, but instead she just said: “Oh, finally I won’t be ashamed to be seen with you in public!” Um, okay, that was weird and not what she’d expected, but okay, it was a joke. "But then it happened again, and again – she made snarky comments about Jenny’s looks, her taste in music, and even about her in general. Every time she made it look like a joke, but Jenny still noticed her sarcastic smile and how she rolled her eyes every time something was said that she didn’t like. And if Jenny got upset or tried to confront her, she always said: “it’s just a joke, stop over-reacting.” And what can you do in response to that? It made her paranoid. She kept thinking – maybe she was too touchy about it, and she should take it as it was apparently intended, as a joke? When they were with other people, Rachel’s comments would get even worse, and yet she still took it all without any objections. Then she started bailing on Jenny regularly – for example, they were meant to meet at the mall to go to a concert, but she didn’t show up and then said she had forgotten. It happened a few times, sometimes even during the same week. At first, she was upset, but then she realized that by this time she had made a lot of other friends, so she started hanging out more with them and less with Rachel. She even met a guy who she liked, and she thought that he liked her as well. And you know what? All of this made Rachel increasingly reveal her true self. She started sending her angry texts about how Jenny had betrayed her and wasn’t a real friend...then begged forgiveness, saying that she was very lonely and couldn’t live without her. Jenny thought to herself: “enough is enough”, and told her that she was not okay with the way she treated her and that she didn’t want to be friends anymore. She called her 20 times in a row but Jenny blocked her, because by now she knew that Rachel didn’t respect her. Funnily enough, the story didn’t stop there. Jenny started dating the boy she liked, and everything seemed good until she noticed that he was talking with Rachel at school. Jenny assumed the worst and asked him what she had said to him. It turned out that Rachel had said that he should stop dating her because she was a horrible person and would betray him the same way Jenny had betrayed her. Jenny asked if he believed her, and thankfully, he laughed and said ""of course not". Jenny’s still a bit upset about Rachel being such a toxic person, but she’s glad that she noticed it soon enough and didn’t let herself be manipulated. My Grandfather Revealed Our Family Secret Before Dying

I am 13 years old, and I live with my mother and father. Well, I mean, until recently that's what I thought. My mother is pregnant and will soon give birth to my brother. No… it's not like that. Oh, let me start over from the beginning! Just six months ago we were an absolutely normal and happy family. Only my grandmother Pamela, my father’s mother, and my mother had a pretty cold relationship. You know, they both pretended that the other just didn’t exist! But it was always this way, and I had gotten used to it. Whenever we were going to visit my grandmother we would always do it together with my father, and my mother wouldn’t join us. My grandmother can’t be called the most sweet and nice person to communicate with, but I always knew that she was really very kind. The only thing about her that I saw was that she was sad because she lived alone. Right when I was about to be born, my grandfather and her divorced – he went to Europe and we haven't heard from him since. Well, at least that was the story I heard when I was little and when I asked. And then when I grew up- I stopped asking. My parents wanted a second child badly, but for a long time they were unsuccessful. When my mother finally got pregnant, we were all so happy! And then my father made us even more happy when he said that after the baby was born, we would move to the new house, a bigger and better one! Life was beautiful! But something went wrong. After a few months, I noticed that my parents became more and more nervous and upset. When I asked what was going on, they just brushed me off. So I decided to call granny Pam and ask what was wrong. My grandmother said that I was already big enough to know and explained that my father took out a mortgage for the house, but that something had gone wrong with the business, and now he was having trouble paying it off. She also added that the best thing I could do was to spare my father from questions since he was feeling bad enough already. So, I couldn't get any answers from my father — no questions, because I didn't want to make him feel worse, but I couldn't ask my mother either – I had no right to get her worried, because it could harm the baby. All I could do was guess – will everything be alright or will we soon be thrown out on the street and become beggars? So I thought that maybe I could learn to sing and dance in order to earn money to feed my little baby brother and myself. My mom and dad became more and more sad and irritated with each passing day. And they still didn't tell me anything. So I decided to eavesdrop on what they were talking about. I know it's not good, but didn’t I have a right to know what was going on? You know, at the beginning, I did not understand what they were talking about. They sounded very nervous and argued about something connected to money and… my grandfather. I listened and listened and finally I understood! It turned out that my grandfather had recently died. He had left a will and according to this will, I was the one who inherited all the big money he left! But only under the condition that I would read some letter. Frankly speaking, I was so happy that I almost left my secret hideout, screaming, "...of course, this legacy will solve all of our problems!" But I didn't do it because I understood that my parents did not want me to read the letter. Even though they kept repeating that we needed this money very, very badly. I quietly returned to my room, went to bed, and while I was still awake I was thinking that my parents should not worry – I was a big girl now and whatever my grandfather had written in that letter wouldn’t scare me, and I will be able to help my family with all the money he left me. And on the next day I said all of this out loud, right away at breakfast. I thought they would be happy… but they looked shocked and seemed totally unwilling to even talk about it. Then I called Granny Pam and told her everything. But you know… my grandmother reacted very strangely. She started to laugh. But at the same time she didn't sound as if she had found any of this actually funny at all. Finally she said: "Of course, my dear, I will come over now and do my best to convince them." And she really did come to visit – I think for the first time in my life. But it did not make me happy at all. She looked threatening and … triumphant for some reason. And she talked to my parents as if she was deriving some dark, unkind satisfaction from the whole situation. But she really did manage to persuade them. She said, "Did you really think that you could keep this a secret forever?" and she started laughing again, but I noticed tears in her eyes. My Friends Were With Me For My Money
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Britney. She’s a lucky person – she comes from a very wealthy family. But she’s not here to boast. Unfortunately, everyone has their problems, and hers are no less significant than anyone else’s. Her biggest problem is finding friends, and this is the reason why. Britney doesn’t think that she’s arrogant, or a snob, or whatever it is that people think about kids from rich families. Her dad is a very simple person, a self-made-man, and he wants his children to work their own way through life too. That doesn’t mean that they have strict limitations on using money – his belief is that they need to invest their time and effort in studying, and should work like everyone else who is not as lucky as they are. That’s why they have always lived a pretty simple life – not in some mansion, but in an ordinary house. Their dad also insisted that they go to an ordinary school, not some fancy private one. When Britney was a child, she didn’t even notice the difference between herself and other children. They all shared the same studies and hobbies. She’s a very sociable person, so she didn’t have problems finding friends. But when she became a teenager and went to high school, she noticed that things had changed. Everyone was divided into groups and ranks – it was not just one big group of children anymore. She didn’t like the idea of classifying people, but you have to adapt in order to enjoy life. Since she is quite easy-going, she ended up in the “celeb” group. This wasn’t her goal, of course, but she was at a new school and she just wanted to make friends. They came to her and proposed that she hang out with them – why would she say no? They seemed like really nice people. They chatted a lot about designer clothes and gadgets, and all the other things that are trendy nowadays. This was when she found out that they had somehow already learned about who she was and what family she was from – and Britney began to have doubts. She’s not a fool, and she understands that sometimes people can be guided by self-interest when choosing friends. She started watching her new friends attentively. Her dad had taught her that you should always check people out before trusting them, even if she had never been in a situation where she’d been right to mistrust people before. But everything seemed okay. It was quite a large group of people – there were eight of them – and they all had different backgrounds. They were regular people with different personalities – that’s ok then, she thought. They spent a lot of time together, and met outside school as well, and as time passed she didn’t notice any particular interest in her family’s wealth. When things started changing, she didn’t even notice at first. From time to time when they went out, one or two of her friends asked her to pay for their movie tickets or a coffee, and promised to give back the money. They never gave it back, and she thought it was a bit petty to remind them. Then...their ‘appetites’ started growing. Sometimes they asked her to pay for a round of bowling or a coffee for everyone. She didn’t think it was fair, but they were her friends and she thought it was shameful to quarrel over money. Britney became irritated by the situation, and started thinking: “What if they made friends with me only because of my money? What if they don’t even really like me?” At some point, thinking these kinds of thoughts over again and again leads you to paranoia. She wanted to check if they really liked just her money or her. She already had trust issues, and thought that it would be better to be alone than with friends like that. So one day she met up with them and pretended to be all sad, saying that they had financial problems at home – that her dad had lost his business and that he had cut her pocket money drastically. She saw them exchange glances but they didn’t say anything. Everything continued as normal and she had already begun to calm down, but when they decided to go to the cinema, she asked someone to pay for her. “I’m broke”, she said, “sorry guys, I’ll give it back as soon as I can”. They exchanged glances again. Then one of her supposed friends said: “Look, we’re not as rich as you are and we can’t sponsor you, sorry. Maybe it’d be better if you go another time”. That was it. Now she knew! How could she even think that someone could be disinterested in her family’s money! She was staring at their backs as they were walking away feeling so disappointed, and she didn’t notice that Lea was still standing by her side. She asked if Britney needed help. “Do you need to talk? I understand it can be hard”. She offered to pay for her as they went to get a coffee. She thanked Lea from the bottom of her heart, because she had restored her faith in people. They’ve been best friends ever since, and she never went back to the ‘celeb’ group.
My Parents Locked Me Up In Basement For Days Because I Was A Bad Girl
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello, I’m Anne, and I was adopted at the age of 13 because my parents were abusive… and I didn’t realize it. You see, my parents were pretty… weird. They would literally lock me up in our basement if I did something wrong. Basically, if I would break something, or go to bed too late, or even TALK too loudly, they would send me to the basement, never really explaining what I did wrong. I would sit there in the darkness. The only light coming out was from a small window that I couldn’t reach. When I was 6 or 8, I didn’t really understand what was happening. The only thing I had when I was down there was my imagination, I even had an imaginary friend. I used to talk with him, but then my parents said that I couldn’t do that either. Yeah. As I got older, like around 12, I wasn’t sent to the basement as often as when I was a kid. Instead, my parents created a “strike” system – if I did three “wrong” things, then I would be sent to the basement. It was only then that I started to really see how my parents were talking to each other. Or more accurately, WEREN’T talking to each other. They were just sitting silently, never saying a word to each other. Even if they did, it was my Mom who was shouting and Dad was ignoring her. They became more strict, too. I wasn’t allowed to go anywhere after school, and I wasn’t allowed to talk to boys. I had to sit in my room after school and be extremely quiet. They didn’t really care about my life – if I had adequate grades, it was enough for them. I saw how other teenagers were at school, they were all talking to each other and laughing, and I couldn’t because I was afraid of my parents. They forbade me to tell anyone anything about our family, saying that “family matters should stay in the family.” The only person I talked with was a boy named James. I tried to avoid him, because I wasn’t allowed to talk with boys, but he was persistent. He also came from a bad family, so we had something to talk about. He would tell me how horrible his life at home was and I started to realize that mine wasn’t any better. What was so crazy was that I didn’t even UNDERSTAND that it was bad. When I was 13, my parents locked me up again. And I realized that I was tall enough to open that window. Because of James, I wanted to change something, and this was my small chance to do it. I crawled out of the window and just walked around the block. I was so happy that I found a way to avoid sitting in the dark basement. It was the best moment of my life back then. I was back by the time my punishment was supposed to end, and nobody noticed anything. So I started doing it regularly. Sometimes James would come over and we would walk together for an hour. His parents didn’t care where he was. This continued for a month, but then James disappeared. I guess his parents moved away and I couldn’t reach out to him because I had restricted access to social media. I continued to do it alone, but one day... my parents caught me. I crawled back in and saw my Father standing in the middle of the basement, in the dark. I was so scared and I tried to say something, but nothing came out. He took me to my mother and they both told me to get out of their house. They said, “If you want to live like homeless person, go and be homeless!“ I begged them to not throw me out, but they didn’t listen to a word I said. I was in tears, and this was rare, because I didn’t cry much, I was just too accustomed to my life being like this. But what happened that day... it was a bit much even for me. Now I realize that they just wanted to scare me and they weren't REALLY throwing me out. But back then… it was scary, yeah. I didn’t know where to go, so I went straight to school. It was the only other place I really knew, to be honest. It was nighttime, so I was trying to be as invisible as possible. School was closed at night, of course, so I had to wait the entire night there. I hid behind one bush and tried to sleep, but it didn’t work, I was too worried and scared. I guess my parents didn’t expect me to really go somewhere and not just wait for them to change their minds in the front yard. But I didn’t have a phone, so they couldn’t call. And they probably didn’t even try. After a very long and cold night, our school security guard came to open the school. He noticed me lying in the bushes and walked over to me with a flashlight and asked angrily, “What are you doing here!?” I said, “I’m sorry, please, I don’t have anywhere else to go…” Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
My Mom Revealed My Secrets To The Whole Internet
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi! This is Ryan, he’s fifteen, and he’s been thinking about sharing this story for quite a while already. And a few weeks ago it took a turn that no one expected…This story is about him and his mom. Her name is Diane, and Ryan is her only child – this is important to the story. She studied to become an architect, but lost interest really fast, so she never actually worked as one. When she married his dad at twenty three, she was right at the point where she didn’t really know what she wanted to do. Then pretty soon after, his mom got pregnant, and that eventually helped her to decide. She started a blog. A mom blog, or a baby blog – however you want to call it. Blogs were kind of booming at that time, and a lot of people were starting their own. Hers started as a kind of online diary for friends and family. Ryan’s mom would write posts about her pregnancy and expectations, and share tips and pictures – basically, anything that interested her. As the weeks went by, the blog gained more and more readers, and a lot of them were strangers. The internet itself was growing quickly at this time. After he was born, his mom became even more enthusiastic about her blog. Now, she had a lot more things to tell her readers about. Of course there was stuff there he can’t remember now, since the blog is older than him. But once Ryan was a little older and able to understand it, he once scrolled all the way down the feed to 2005. And there was everything – pictures of him as a newborn baby, then as a toddler, and on and on…more on that a little later. And it was not just about the pictures of course. She would write about what happened during almost every day, with the most intimate details. And he learned a lot of stuff most kids are not supposed to know: like the fact that he wasn’t planned. Ryan’s totally fine with that, and all of these early posts are not a problem for him in general. But things just got awkward as he was growing up. You don’t have many secrets when you’re a toddler, but as you get closer to your teenage years, you start to experience stuff you’d rather keep private. The problem was that his mom didn’t seem to understand that. He must have been around twelve when he started to have problems with what she was posting. Because, you know, he grew up with the blog, and for a really long time he didn’t think it could be any other way. And the thing that still amazes him is that his mom didn’t lose interest at any point throughout those years. Of course, she doesn’t post every day anymore, but she still does it at least two or three times a week. And the content changed – it was now about being the mom of a teenager. And that was the problem. Here’s an example. When Ryan was thirteen he told his mom he liked a girl from his school. You see, he’s not that close with any of his friends, and he feels awkward sharing stuff like that with his dad. So he told his mom about his feelings and they had a nice talk, or so he thought at the time. And he felt terrible when he found out that the whole story got posted online. What made things even worse was the fact that the girl’s mom was one of the blog’s active readers. And even though Ryan’s mom didn’t mention the girl’s name, it wasn’t that hard to guess. He never actually talked to the girl about his feelings, but he’s pretty sure she found out. That was the first time that Ryan and his mom had a serious fight about the blog. He was trying to tell her that this stuff was private and the last thing he wanted was for everybody to know. But she just didn’t seem to understand. She said that these were things every child went through and there was nothing to be embarrassed about. He wasn’t embarrassed, he just didn’t want to be exposed for all the world to see like that! Several months after this, things got even worse. One of his classmates came across his mom’s blog online somehow. Of course he quickly told everyone else, and all of the kids at school found the time to scroll down her feed. Long story short, the next few weeks weren’t easy for Ryan. There were so many things his classmates were not supposed to know, including things he had said about them. And, of course, every post had something that they could make fun of. He was deeply hurt. He tried talking to his mom again, but she still refused to see the problem, so he just made the only decision possible: he stopped telling her anything about his life. As the months passed, their relationship deteriorated. Once she tried to talk to him about the problem, and he even thought they understood each other. But the next day she wrote a post about him being offended about the blog... Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
I Helped My Grandpa Find His Love (And He Helped Me Too :)
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Alan, and his grandfather is his best friend. This might sound a little weird to you. He does have friends his own age, but he still really likes hanging out with him. His grandfather always used to spend a lot of time with him. He was the one among his relatives who made his childhood exciting, by teaching him to do things like riding a bike and playing baseball. Alan still remembers how once, he hit a ball and it went right through the neighbors’ window. His grandpa gave him a conspiratorial look and they hid behind the fence. Mrs. Scott, the old troublemaker who lived next door, was furious about what happened. She hung out of the broken window, screaming loudly that Alan should be glad he was not her grandson, otherwise she would slap him. Meanwhile, both he and his grandpa were laughing. He never told him Alan off for the tricks he pulled, and always acted like he was the same age. This made their time together so much fun. Now Alan is in high school, and he always has lots of things to do. Homework with extra tasks, a part-time job at a coffee shop, and hanging out with friends have made him too busy to see his grandpa as often as he did before. That’s why he usually gives him a quick call at least twice a week. Alan’s grandma passed away a long time ago, and obviously his grandpa misses her a lot. One day he had the idea of setting up a social media account for him, thinking it would be fun. It was not an easy task to explain to him how Facebook worked, what he needed a profile for, and how to create a network of friends. But after some practice, he became a pretty advanced user. He found a guy he did military service with, a former neighbor, who he hadn’t seen for years, and even some old classmates. One of them shared a couple of very old photos they had of themselves with Alan’s grandpa which he’d never seen before. One of them was taken on New Year’s Eve, and his young grandpa was wearing a lady's dress, a wig, and a necklace. He looked hilarious! One day Alan was leaving work, and on his way to his grandpa’s house he caught site of a girl. He could tell she was new to the area since he’d never seen her before. She was reading a book, and she looked so beautiful that he felt something strange going on in his stomach. He wanted to introduce himself, but on his way towards her he lost his footing and fell clumsily onto the ground. He got up and ran away as fast as he could, hoping she didn’t notice anything. He ran all the way to his grandpa’s place with just a single thought in his head: “ You fell over on level ground in front of the most beautiful girl on the planet!” He was pretty sure he had lost any future chance of ever meeting her again. When he saw his grandpa, he couldn’t believe his eyes. He was wearing a brand new suit, brand new shoes, and even a boutonnière – he looked outstanding! “What are you up to, young man?” Alan asked, feeling a little smart alecky. He told him that he was going on a date with a lady he’d met on Facebook. They’d been chatting for a couple of days and she seemed to be very nice and interesting. And she was the one who suggested the date, so it would be totally stupid of him to miss this chance. He wished him good luck, and on his way home he suddenly thought to himself – why don’t I follow in the footsteps of my role model, be courageous, and go talk to that girl!? The next day he rushed to the coffee shop, hoping to meet her, but she never showed up that day, or the next one. But then some time later, when he had almost given up on the idea of ever seeing her again, somebody touched Alan’s shoulder. Amazingly, it was her. “Hey, aren't you that guy who was recently measuring the length of the floor?” she asked. He turned red in the face all at once. “Don't worry, I almost didn't notice anything,” she said, as she gave him a smile and invited him to a party she was organizing at her place. She said it would be a 1930s themed party, and that there would be dancing. It was only later that day that Alan remembered he was not very good at dancing. His grandpa and his girlfriend Maggie promised to tell him everything about the 1930s, and to teach him to dance. She turned out to be a very nice lady. He didn’t become Fred Astaire, but he did learn some nice moves, which he hoped would impress Kate – that was her name. So, armed with a load of useful information, he went over to her place. Needless to say, Kate looked like a million dollars, and the whole dancing thing went more than perfect. He did his best to impress her by being a gentleman, as his grandpa had advised him to. And now, there are two more happy couples in the world. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

She found out that one of her family's stories was a huge lie. Lily has a really big family. Decades ago, her great grandfather came to the United States from Romania. Keeping family ties is kind of a national trait for them, but the main thing is that everybody loves each other a lot. Now they all live near each other in the same town, and get together for every holiday or just whenever they feel like it. So between all of her aunts and uncles, grandmas and grandpas, there are very few people that Lily hasn't met. Some of them died young, one of her uncles moved to Europe and stayed there with his family (they did talk on the phone once), but all the others are nearby and they see each other almost every other week. The only blind spot in Lily’s family tree is her dad’s father – her grandpa. And her family was not all that willing to talk about him. The one thing that she remembers always hearing was that he died in the war, but no one would even say which war that was. But Lily didn’t take much interest in this until her first year of high school. It was early November, and Veteran's Day was coming up. Their history teacher invited them to talk about the war experiences of their families. And Lily thought to herself that she’d love to talk about her grandpa whom she’d never met. When she got home and asked her dad, he got all annoyed and refused to talk. He said that stuff like that was personal and that she shouldn’t talk about it in class. That didn’t make much sense to her. And she saw the look on her dad’s face when he was saying it. Something wasn’t right. So she went to ask some of her other relatives what had happened to him. When Lily wouldn’t let them change the subject, all of them said basically the same thing, but the details were different. Aunt Angie said he was in the infantry, grandpa George said he was in aviation, while her grandma Anne said that she couldn’t remember. But what was more striking was that they didn’t even mention the same war. Two of them said it was Vietnam, while grandma Anne said it was Korea, which was not even, like, mathematically possible. And when she pointed out their contradictions, they said something like: “It was a long time ago, it’s hard to remember.” No, wait a minute. Nothing was ever hard to remember when it came to her family’s history! Something. Was. Not. Right. And she was determined that she was going to figure out what. So she started her own research. She looked through lots and lots of veteran's lists from Vietnam and Korea. All she had was his last name. And she found nothing. She then made a couple of phone calls to some local memorial foundations. They looked through their archives and didn’t find any mention of him either. That was where she got even more excited. What if her grandpa was still ALIVE? And if that's true, then why did he live apart from the family? After nights of googling, she was so desperate that she switched to searching on Facebook (obviously, that wasn't the most logical thing to do), but everyone she found with this surname was either one of her family members that she already knew or someone who just couldn’t be her missing grandpa – unless he had an anime profile pic. Of course, she didn’t tell her parents or anyone else what she was doing. And nobody asked, thinking she had been satisfied with the answers they gave her. A couple of weeks after Lily started her research, she was at the table at another family gathering. They were discussing some of their distant relatives that lived in Romania, and a thought struck her. What if she searched for their original last name, the one they had had before the family got it Americanized? She ran to her room, trying not to attract too much attention, and googled it. Most of the results were irrelevant, but one of the things she found was a Facebook page of a man in his 70s, who looked almost exactly like her dad. Wow. And his name was Alex. She started to write a message to him. But what are you supposed to write in a situation like this? “Hey there, I’m your granddaughter from the family that cut all their ties with you?” That didn’t sound good. Both profile pics he had were of him in front of his house, and she recognized the area. It was the other side of town; her friend Kelly lived there, so she’d been to that area a couple of times. Of course, she was scared to go, but she was too excited not to. The next day, Lily left school early and got on the bus. Finding the house was harder than she thought, but she eventually did. It was small, simple, and pretty old. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello to all! My name is David and I am going to tell you the story about the strangest date of my life… which ended in the most unusual way. Just listen. I am sixteen years old and I have not had a girlfriend for a while. I do not know why. I am not ugly, not a nerd, and I’m not dumb… at least I hope I'm not. But all my attempts to get a girlfriend ended up as a total fiasco. And that’s why I was afraid to ask a girl I really liked out on a date. Her name is April and she is one of the prettiest and the most popular girls in school. We have history classes together, so we know each other and sometimes exchange a couple of words, a couple of books, or check each other's homework… you know, that type of thing. She's not a snob and she treats me nicely but… I was afraid to make the first move. Help came from where I least expected it: my best friend. Her name is Zoë. Yes, you heard me right - my best friend is a girl. Zoë and I are friends from elementary school, and she is very easy to get along with. She is not a tomboy, but she hangs out with guys because she has more in common with them. I can share any of my problems with her, including girl-related troubles. And she helped me find a solution… because she was in a similar situation! Zoë liked one guy from our school – a Latino guy named Enrique. All the girls had a crush on him - he really did look like a movie star. I can’t say anything about his handsomeness, but Zoë seemed to like him a lot, and she was also afraid to ask him on a date, maybe even more than I was afraid to ask April. Zoë decided that we should have a double date where we could support each other through all the awkwardness and first date jitters. As soon as we had a chance, we both found April and then Enrique while walking through the school hallways and we both asked them out. And, holy Heaven, they both agreed! Well, all four of us agreed to meet at the mall. Zoë and me, two idiots, got to the food court before the arranged time, so that by the time April and Enrique arrived, we were both already really nervous and hungry. So we ordered the first thing that we saw on the menu – hamburgers with fries. But we found out that there was no need to hurry, our sweethearts turned out to be a lot pickier. April studied the menu forever and finally declared that she was just going to get a green salad. She was going to a cool party soon and she was on a diet in order to look good for it, so she was just casting secret glances at my juicy burger. Enrique ordered an enormous black bean burger, which accidentally or not, matched the color of his shirt. And for a little while he became occupied with shooting his meal and uploading the pictures to Instagram. April also decided to take a cool picture and ordered a large ice cream with some really complicated toppings with waffles and cookies. She did not eat it because she was on diet, but together with Enrique, she had a great time taking food pictures. Zoë and I chewed our food and exchanged surprised glances." "The conversation wasn't going anywhere so I just started to talk about everything that came to my mind. After all, Zoë was close and I wasn't afraid to look stupid. I talked about the piloted “Dragon” that Elon Musk sent to space recently. It was so cool! And I thought it would be interesting to everyone. April did not seem to express any interest. But when Enrique remembered another headline from the past few days, that Kylie Jеnner was officially acknowledged as the youngest billionaire in history, April got really excited. I did not understand what the connection was between Elon Musk's spaceship and this Kylie person, but then it occurred to me that the keyword was “billionaire.” Enrique and April started to discuss Kylie, while Zoë and I kept silent – we were not absolutely sure who this person was that they were talking about anyway. Then we were supposed to be going to the movies. Zoë and I wanted to see a blockbuster with action, shooting, and chasing with a lot of epic scenes and characters that drew you in and made you feel something. But Enrique wanted to see something intellectual. Or even, something European and art-house, so that you could leave the movies, shaken from the realization that your world was not the same anymore. As for April… She seemed to not care since she was fully consumed by her iPhone. Since none of us could agree on anything, we just attended the movie that was scheduled the soonest. April sat close to me and was on her iPhone, which totally blinded me during the whole movie. And when there was an exciting moment on the screen… she grabbed Enrique’s hand. Enrique’s, not mine! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Mick, and he wants to tell you a crazy story about his relationship with his coach. He’s a talented athlete, but his sport is not the most popular one. He adores it, though. But once, his new coach nearly made him quit. However, now Mick knows that he would never change his coach for someone else. This is what happened. Mick likes sports a lot. The city where he lives has a very good sports facility with a number of different courses to choose from. He had always been part of the usual team sports, but he was never much of a team player. At some point, he decided that he needed to choose something new, as his motivation was dissipating fast. He was also a typical teenager who had lots of problems with his studies, with girls, and with his parents. He had a lot of frustration and anger inside of him, and wanted to take the pressure off. This is why he decided that single combat sports would be perfect for him. However, Mick soon learned that ordinary martial arts didn’t attract him very much – they were too violent and traumatic for him. That’s when one of the coaches offered him an exotic solution, which was fencing. The chances are many of you don’t know what it is, and neither did Mick at the time. The idea is that you fight with a sword in beautiful white clothes that fully protect you from any damage, and which let you concentrate on your goal of hitting your rival with a weapon in a certain way. Unexpectedly, it turned out that Mick had a talent. His coach was very enthusiastic, and after several months of training in a group he proposed that he start training with a private coach that he knew, who was a highly qualified specialist. He told Mick that Mr. J, as everyone called him, led all his private students to spectacular results, and that this was the best offer he would get. Of course, he agreed. It turned out that Mr. J had already seen him at training, and he liked what he had seen. Mick’s a bit ashamed to tell you about his feelings now. It was horrible. Mr. J squeezed all the energy and enthusiasm out of him. The first thing he told Mick was this: “You haven’t done any physical preparation, so now we’ll concentrate on this”. He started with 2 hours of cardio and crossfit, and he said to him: “And now we will begin working on the basic steps.” Mick thought it was a joke, but he was dead serious. The worst thing was that Mr. J never had a nice word to say about Mick. He always had this sour expression on his face, as if he was the worst student he had ever had. He was working his socks off just to earn his appreciation, at least just a little bit, and every time he got that “Meh, not impressed” face. The results of Mick’s strenuous training regime were visible – he won each time without even too much effort. He thought that this would be enough for Mr. J to say to him: “Good job!”. All he got was a ticking off that his winning score was 15-6 when it was supposed to be 15-0! He felt so useless; he needed some praise so much, and all he got was constant nagging and humiliation. Mick thought many times about giving up, even though generally he was not a quitter by nature. He had his first big, high-level competition coming up, and the preparations were so painful and unbearable that he decided that afterwards he would either leave his coach or give up fencing. He was training at fencing all day long, and during the nights he had nightmares where he would see Mr. J. He arrived at the competition all on edge. Mr J. had his “I’m not impressed” face on all day. He didn’t even bother talking to him or give him advice ahead of his multiple fights with other fencers. But Mick hadn’t realized how much progress he’d actually made. He passed all the stages during that day without too much effort. Didn’t he deserve at least a “well done”? No, according to Mr. J. When he got to the finals, he was already furious. He had just one final fight to win the competition ahead of him, and Mr. J was still silent. At that point the anger rose up in him, and when the fight started Mick imagined that his rival was his coach. So, he had the energy that made him move forward, the frustration that made him beat his imaginary Mr. J again and again. When it was over, he found that he was the champion. Then suddenly something unexpected happened. Mr. J ran towards him yelling “Good job, boy! I knew it, I knew it! Well done!” He was smiling happily and hugging him. Mick couldn’t understand what was happening. He couldn’t even imagine his coach smiling. But suddenly the realization came that it had all been part of Mr. J’s strategy to make him excel – that in the end, his perfectionism was what had made him win, and that he had put lots of effort into his victory as well. He forgot all the bitter words he wanted to say to him, and all he said was, “Thank you, Mr. J”. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
My Dad Left Us After A DNA Test
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? The story that he’d like to tell you…well, it’s very painful for him and his family. But learning about his experience could potentially help somebody out there. Although he doesn’t really know how. So...just listen. Damian’s going to tell you about what happened last Christmas, but first let him explain what his life was like before that day. He had a pretty ordinary life, and there was of course nothing bad about that. He comes from a big family: his mother, his father, him, and his little brother and sister. They didn’t have any serious problems, and they were just an ordinary, happy family. They were very close-knit, and had kind and trusting relationships between each other. Christmas was approaching. And so were some changes in Damian’s life. It was his last year at school — and college was waiting for him in another state, many miles away from home and his family. Just thinking about this made him feel uncomfortable and even a little sad, and for that reason he decided to prepare a little surprise for his parents and siblings. And he would give it to them on one the most wonderful evenings there is to do something nice for the ones you love. For a long time he thought about what present he could give them all. He chatted about it with his friends, and he discussed it with his girlfriend. It had to be something unusual, something that would be appropriate for both his parents and his younger brother and sister, and it had to be memorable – he wanted them to have only the best memories about his last “family Christmas” before he went to college. Finally, he figured out what he needed to do. He discovered that genealogical DNA tests had in the past few years become very popular and affordable. Neither his mom nor his dad knew anything about their ancestors, and he thought that it would be interesting and amusing to find out. As for his brother and sister, they would definitely enjoy an adventure – a trip to a real laboratory, where cheerful lab workers would take some saliva from each of them and then they would find out something intriguing about who their forefathers were. The plan worked out perfectly in his head, so he paid for five tests – one for each person in his family. And then Christmas came. They had a nice dinner, talked and played games at the table, sang a couple of Christmas carols together, then took pictures in front of the Christmas tree and exchanged presents. He decided to save his for the very end and hinted heavily that he had a surprise for everyone. And all went well! His dad nodded approvingly and said that it would be an interesting and educational family activity. His younger brother and sister did not fully understand the idea but were intrigued, as they were supposed to be. But his mom behaved very strangely…When she heard him talk about the idea of DNA testing she became extremely nervous. She said that Damian had spent a lot of money for nothing and that their family didn’t need to do any tests to prove their happiness, and that he should never have suggested such a ridiculous thing. Both his dad and Damian were bewildered by her reaction, but this was only the beginning – his mom actually started yelling at him! His own mom! She had never, ever raised her voice before, but now they had a real drama on their hands, and it was happening at Christmas! They didn’t manage to calm her down, so Damian and his siblings went to bed in tears and their parents left to go to their bedroom. Of course, he couldn’t sleep after all that, and he heard his mom and dad talking until the morning. And when morning came, something happened that still hurts Damian even to this day when he thinks about it. He saw his father packing his things and leaving, while giving him one last long, hostile look. His mom looked exhausted, and pointed at his younger siblings with her eyes, silently begging him to refrain from asking any questions at that moment. And when they started talking he could not believe what he heard. His mom told him that his father was leaving them. Forever. And that he would probably be filing for divorce soon. His Christmas surprise had forced his mother to reveal an awful secret, and now he had to know it too: Neither he, nor his brother or sister were his father’s biological children. Can you imagine how shocked he was? But he thought it would be for the better if he simply listened, in silence, to his mother’s story. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
Story By Layla | Subscribe our channel: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Layla. When she tells people that she’s lived in a haunted house, the most common reaction she encounters is “Wow, cool”. Well, guys, she’s here to tell you why she wouldn’t call the experience “cool” at all. Layla has a friend, Sarah. They’ve been together since early childhood; they studied at school together, and after school they went to the same university. The thing is, the university was in another city and they had to move there before the semester started. They didn’t want to move in to the dormitory, so they looked for a small two-bedroom apartment. There was always something that wasn’t right with the apartments they were offered, and soon they became pretty desperate. Then all of a sudden they came across this house – a two-storey old house almost in the center of the city, but in a quiet district. And what was even more attractive was that its price was negligible. Layla and Sarah couldn’t believe how lucky they were. When they were moving in, they were greeted by nice people – their neighbours. One of them, smiling, gave them a strange look and asked if there were any special reason why they had chosen the house. They laughed in a silly way and thought nothing of it. Looking back on it, Layla thinks they should really have asked for an explanation, but at the time they couldn’t wait to move in and just thanked him for the warm welcome. The entrance to the house was in a spot that wasn’t visible from the main road. When they went up to the stairs, they saw a nice old woman with a paper bag in her hands. “Hello girls! My name is Ms. Hopkins. I want to welcome you to our neighborhood. I’ve brought you my famous apple pie for lunch. I guess you’re far away from your parents and haven’t had time to cook yet”. They thanked her cordially, and since they were going in themselves, they decided to invite her in for a coffee. But when they turned back to her, she was already gone. Well, they had a lot to do and decided that they would ask the neighbors about where she lived later on. So, they were independent for the first time in their lives. They were ecstatic. The only thing that irritated them a bit was that they didn’t manage to get a good night’s sleep, but they decided it was the result of first semester nerves. On the bright side, a couple of times a week they would find a new package with a pie inside from Ms. Hopkins on the doorstep. Soon, they were becoming a bit too busy to think much about Ms. Hopkins. Meanwhile, their sleep problems were becoming pretty overwhelming. Often, Layla would wake up in the middle of the night covered in a cold sweat after having a nightmare. When she went to the kitchen to get herself a glass of water, she would find Sarah there with black circles under her eyes, looking close to tears. This sounds like something trivial, but you try not getting a good night’s sleep for a couple of months and you would struggle too. What’s worse was that they were starting to hallucinate because of sleep deprivation. Sometimes, one of them would go into an empty room and pick up the scent of someone’s perfume. Layla often felt a cold draught even when all the windows were closed. Once when Layla was in the bathroom, she saw the handle of the locked door move slightly, as if someone was trying to open it. She yelled “Sarah, I’m in here!” and...then she heard Sarah’s voice from downstairs: “What did you say?” Layla felt goose bumps march across her body. If Sarah was there, who was trying to open the door? It took her half an hour to come out of the bathroom, with pure terror in her eyes. They decided that it was time to look for a new home, above all because they still couldn’t sleep there, and the lack of sleep added to their anxiety when they noticed those small things happening inside the house. In the morning, she and Sarah went to the neighbour who had greeted them on the first day with the strange question to get some answers. Layla asked him straightaway: “Where can we meet Ms. Hopkins?” He looked at them with a strange expression, and answered “There’s no one called Ms. Hopkins in the neighbourhood. Why do you ask?” They were shocked. “But we met her the first day we came!” “You must be mistaken. Ms. Hopkins used to live in your house, but she died several years ago after getting sick. She was famous for her baking, by the way.” Absolutely speechless, Layla and Sarah emerged from the neighbor’s house and walked slowly towards their own. As they were going up the stairs, they saw another paper package with an item from Ms. Hopkins’s bakery. Layla was so horrified that she could hardly take those couple of steps towards it. There was a handwritten note with it that said “Girls, come visit me some time”. At that point, they rushed into the house and packed their things in a total panic. It took them three minutes to pack everything they needed.

My name’s Janise. You know, I’ve recently had a chance to start my life over again, and it has become the weirdest period of my life so far, but I regret nothing. Well, almost nothing. My family had to move to another town because of my dad’s new job and I, accordingly, switched to another totally unfamiliar school. I was pretty sure that I’d have some trouble blending in and it made me really nervous. On my first day there I was so distracted and lost that didn’t even see a guy standing right in front of me. So I kinda ran smack into him and fell to the ground. This made everybody around start laughing and giggling, and I felt, like, totally embarrassed. He helped me to stand up and made a joke that this was the weirdest way a girl has ever tried to find out what his name was. I cracked a half smile and got out of there as fast as I could, feeling how my face was already starting to turn bright red. But I heard him shouting his name – it was J.J. – and I found myself realizing just how handsome he was. Later that day when I was already in the school cafeteria I saw him again. But this time he wasn’t surrounded by a bunch of other people. It was the opposite actually, he was sitting alone at a lunch table reading something. I decided to go up to him and get acquainted, since, so far, he was the only person at this new place that I'd talked to. But when I actually got up closer to him and asked whether the seat next to him was taken or not, he looked at me as if we’d never met before. I felt offended inside, I mean, I know that I was new to that school but was I really that invisible!? I said that I was sorry for not telling him my name earlier, but it was Janise, by the way. And he said, “Good for you,” still keeping his eyes glued to the book. His manners in that moment had me really confused. I couldn’t figure out what else I should say or whether I should've said anything at all. So I just grabbed my tray and walked away, feeling sort of mad and a little humiliated. Who was he to talk to me like that? Strangely enough, I couldn’t stop thinking about him for the rest of the day. The next couple of days at school were pretty intense and I hadn’t seen J.J. at all. But I had started to chat with some other girls from my class and it was starting to look almost like the beginning of a friendship, I thought. Then, on Thursday when these girls and I were having lunch, I saw him again. He was probably saying something funny, because everybody around us was in tears laughing. Maybe he was really strange, I thought, acting like a clown and then like a distant mysterious guy at the same time. Was it a bipolar disorder or something? Anyway, he still looked very attractive to me. Later that day when I had already packed up to go home, I heard a car horn and somebody shouting. I turned around and saw J.J. He drove up to me and said he insisted on driving me home. I hesitated for a couple of seconds, but when I saw his smile I just gave up. He talked the entire way, telling me some school related stories about the other students and teachers and staff. I decided not to say anything about his strange behavior in the cafeteria a few days earlier. You know, everything already seemed to be perfect and I felt like I was falling for him. The next day it was Friday and I was really looking forward to seeing J.J. at school again, but unfortunately it was another busy day so I just couldn’t pause long enough to make it happen. But a big rugby game was scheduled for that evening after classes, and the girls and I decided to go and see it. Actually, the whole school was going because our team was playing against their biggest rival, as they told me. So I thought he’d also definitely be there. When everything had already started, I finally saw him a few rows higher, but when I was about to wave at him I saw a girl next to him. And suddenly she hugged him. I was devastated. I mean, why would he drive me home the day before if he already had a girlfriend? If he was a womanizer, for sure I was not OK with that. I Adopted A Baby. The Biggest Screw Up In My Life
Story By David | Subscribe: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is David, and this is the story of the biggest screw up he ever made in his life. Seventeen years ago, David and his wife, Caroline, adopted a baby from an Asian American family. He never got to know them at a personal level, and as far as he knew they were very keen to maintain their privacy. They therefore had very few details about the kid’s background, and never tried to find out more. The only thing they knew was that the real parents were too young to look after children. But David and Caroline were definitely ready to adopt a child. They’d been on a waiting list for a long time, and they were so eager to become parents that they really weren’t interested in where the baby came from. This turned out to be a big mistake. Soon enough, David and Caroline adopted a handsome, intelligent and affectionate little boy, whom they named Justin. It was love at first sight. When Justin was about eight months old, David and his wife began to feel guilty that they were bringing him up without a connection to his ethnic background. Fortunately, they lived in an area with a sizeable Chinese population, so they figured it’d be easy to introduce him to his roots. And so for the next seventeen years, David and Caroline did everything possible to honor their son’s ethnic heritage. He attended Chinese language courses, and by the time he was five he could speak both Mandarin and English fluently. They also found a Chinese couple who became friends with Justin and took responsibility for his cultural upbringing. They invited him round to their home to celebrate Chinese holidays, took him out for a Chinese meal every couple of weeks, and practised Mandarin with him. From the time Justin was eight, David took him to China every two years. They never forced him to adopt his ethnic culture, because they didn’t want him to feel there was a difference between them. But they were determined not to rob him of his heritage either. Both David and Caroline were sure they were doing the right thing. Everything was going well for them until a week ago, when David was filling in Justin’s financial support application for college. He had to track down some old documents he hadn’t looked at in a while. As he was browsing through them, his eyes suddenly fell upon his son’s old adoption records. The surnames of Justin’s biological parents suddenly jumped out at him. He broke out into a cold sweat. Their names were PARK and KIM. Those are Korean last names. David’s son is not from China. Not one little bit. He’s Korean! David had never been one of those people who assumes every Asian person is Chinese, and often laughed at others for doing so. But that's what he ended up doing with his own son! Now, he has a seventeen-year-old Korean son who thinks he’s Chinese. He’s spent nearly two decades guiding Justin towards ethnic roots that are not his real ones. And the best part of the story is that he now has to reveal the truth to his son and wife. Although he’s not sure if he ever will. I adopted a baby 0:07 We introduced a baby with his roots 1:10 I felt literally petrified 2:15 The worst part of all the story 2:56 What's your story? They would barely talk to each other, and sometimes they wouldn’t even say hello to each other, or they'd just get mad at each other about nothing, like if one of them left a dirty plate in the kitchen. Honestly, Gloria thinks that most of the time it was Kate who started these conflicts... But one day, her sister suddenly became very calm and happy. It was so weird seeing her smile! She wouldn’t even get mad at Gloria when she listened to her music louder than usual, and once, she even let her borrow a t-shirt from her that she liked. It didn't take her long to solve the mystery! Kate had found a boyfriend. His name was Justin. And she has to admit – she got a little jealous when she first saw him: he was tall and handsome. She even got to chat with him a little bit when he was at their house, and they had so much in common that she almost started to take a fancy to him… But she wouldn’t do that to her sister, because no matter how much they argued, they were still family. And she didn't want to jeopardize the fact that Kate was being way nicer than she ever had before. So she decided that she would enjoy it while it lasted. But one day, Kate and Justin came back to their house together and she went to take a shower. After a while, Justin started talking about weird stuff with Gloria, saying things like “It’s so cool that both you and Kate are so beautiful, I guess it runs in the family, but one of you was luckier. Can you guess who?” And then he tried to hold her hand! What?!! Gloria has to admit that she didn’t remove her hand right away, but it was only because she was so shocked by what was happening...and he was looking at her with this dreamy look...but then Kate got out of the shower and got ready quickly so they could go out (they were planning to go to a party or something). Gloria didn’t know what to do in that situation. She kind of liked Justin, but did she really want to be with a guy who was willing to cheat like that? No! And besides, Kate was her sister… So she decided to tell her. She wanted to do it right after Kate returned, but it was too awkward. And over the next few days, Justin came over again, and it was weird with him in the house...so one evening, she finally worked up the nerve to tell her. “Kate, I have to tell you something…” and then she basically told her the entire story. Kate looked at her and then she snapped at Gloria: “You’re always lying! You’re just jealous that I have a boyfriend and you don’t!” She tried to tell her the truth, but it was useless. Over the next week she was so rude. Basically, everything had now gone back to its normal state between them. But every time Justin came over she was so angry...he would look at her with this nasty smile, because Kate told him what Gloria had said and he totally played dumb. She was so angry! But she also felt so sorry for her sister...She remembered all the good times they had had together. Even if they constantly argued, they had always had each other’s backs...and she couldn’t just forget about that! So she HAD to prove to her that she wasn’t lying. But she couldn’t just text Justin or something like that because he would know what she was up to, so she basically waited until he came over to their house again, and when they were left alone…she hid her phone nearby and started to record a video. When Kate went to take a shower, she started talking to him, but she knew that she had to be careful. It went something like this: “Why did you stop paying attention to me, Justin? What happened? Not interested anymore?” and he said “Because you told Kate!” “I didn’t tell her! I wrote it in my diary and she read it herself, I promise!” She really hoped that Justin would be stupid enough to believe her, and well, he was! He then asked her what she wanted now, and she asked if he would be willing to break up with her sister to be with her, and he started to think and said “Maybe, but not right now...” or something like that... I Hid The Truth From The Police And They Came After Me
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? So, it all started when Lewis’ folks took away his Xbox and grounded him for three weeks. He wasn't allowed to play video games or hang out with friends. They expected him to study non-stop, because he was failing almost everything at school. And, as if on purpose, they did it literally right before the new Assassin's Creed game was released. It was a bad situation, but nothing could have stopped him from getting his favorite thing in the world. So, naturally, Lewis turned to his best buddy, Stanley, for help. And as always he didn't disappoint. Not only did he have the game, but he was also sick, so his parents let him stay at home for a couple of days. Everything was aligning perfectly. Or so he thought... So, that day he rode his bike over to Stanley's house. He was in a hurry, anticipating some high-grade gaming time, when all of a sudden he heard gunshots – real gunshots – and screaming. He saw several people running out of a pawn shop that was right in front of him. Luckily, there was a dumpster nearby where he could hide. From there he was able to see them better. They looked like typical robbers, with face masks, guns, and everything. They were trying to keep a hold of the money inside of their bags, but some of it fell on the ground anyway. They were obviously panicking. He barely even noticed the car they were getting into. He couldn't see it clearly from his hiding spot, so he took out his phone and tried to film them. The robbers had almost left when he was finally able to capture their car on his camera. It was just a 15-second video, but he hoped it would at least give a decent view of the car. After that, he went straight to Stanley's house. He wasn't sure if the robbers noticed him or not, but he wasn't going to risk it. He told Stanley everything, and showed him the video. It was good enough to see the car plate number. They had completely forgotten about the game, and instead talked for hours about what to do, and still couldn't decide if they should tell somebody about it or not. Finally, they decided that there had probably been surveillance cameras around, and police could do without him or his recording. They also didn't want their parents to find out and go berserk about the whole thing. Three weeks went by, and Lewis’ period of being grounded ended, but this was just the start of his suffering. The robbery seemed to be the only thing people were talking about. Wherever he went he heard something new about it and, every time, it made him feel like a complete jerk. It seemed that the police still didn't have any leads, and asked for witnesses to come forward with any information. The pawn shop's owner, Mr. Stevenson, had been shot, and his wife had had a heart attack. Both of them were still in the hospital. He also learned that this wasn't the first robbery that had happened, and the police had been after them for several months already. After a long battle with his conscience, he finally decided that he needed to tell the police about the video and the car. So, the plan was to send the video to the police from a library computer. That way they would know it was done by someone using a school account, but not who actually sent it. Then the problem would be solved, the robbers would end up in prison, and he would be the anonymous hero of the day. Lewis went to the library and started googling which e-mail account he could use to send the video. But at that moment he felt the spooky presence of the school librarian, Mrs. Mullins, nearby. When she asked him what he was researching, his mind went blank. He hadn’t come up with a proper lie beforehand, so he said the only thing he could think of – the pawn shop's robbery. That was a huge mistake, because she then bombarded him with questions. He was now panicking, and it probably showed because she asked him if he was alright. “It's just so horrible what happened, y'know? The robbery! Poor Mr. Stevenson and his wife! Awful, it's just so awful. It makes me so scared that they haven't caught the robbers yet. Like, what if they robbed the school? Or the library? Have you thought about that possibility? Knowledge is power, right? And the robbers...what did they want?” He couldn't stop talking nonsense to save his life. He was just saying random stuff, hoping she would believe him and leave him alone. He was sure she wouldn’t, but she left him to do his “research” anyway. So, he quickly wrote out the email, attached the video, and signed it “Anonymous.” Then he snuck out of the library to avoid another interrogation and went home... My Mom Woke Up From A Coma And It’s Terrifying
Like this video if you want your Mom to live forever. ★ Subscribe My Channel: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Alice. She really wants to share her story, because she needs to know that she’s not alone. A year ago she was a happy girl, and her biggest problem was backtalking at school. Now she so wishes that she could turn back the clock and tell herself that life was great! She’s only 13, and she’s so tired… It all started one day when she was at school, in her English class. The headmaster came in and asked her to leave the room. He looked very worried, and Alice immediately felt nervous. When they sat down in his office, he urged her to sit down and told her that something bad had happened in her family. Her mom had been on her way to the school to take Alice home, and got caught up in a bad car crash. It was really, really bad, he said. Be strong, Alice, he said, she was alive but at the hospital, and the doctors were evaluating how serious her injuries were. Now she had to stay at the school until her dad came to take her home. Alice didn’t cry; she was in some kind of nervous shock. He gave her some water and called in the school psychologist, who tried to talk to her but Alice stayed silent. She didn’t talk even when her dad came in for her and took her home. There was only one thought in her head: “Dear God, if you exist, make my mom live and be healthy and I’ll be a good girl forever”. Then some very shocking news came from the hospital – her mom was in a coma, and she had very serious brain damage. All they could do was pray that she woke up. This situation lasted for quite a long time – several weeks at least. Both Alice and her dad lived a robotic routine – waking up, having breakfast, going about their business, going home, watching TV, going back to sleep. Alice had only that one thought, and couldn’t concentrate on anything else. She felt as though she was physically ageing as the days went by; she was so tired of waiting, and felt that if she looked into the mirror she’d see someone with white hair and their first wrinkles. When the news came, Alice didn’t know how to accept it. She finally woke up, that was the good news. But the bad thing was that she had suffered grave brain damage, meaning that she could no longer talk or react to people, or even recognize anyone. They called it a vegetative state, but actually it’s a “vegetable” state – all the individual can really do is breathe, and not much else. The feeling for Alice was one of pure horror. She went to see her mom quite often, but whenever she looked at her all she saw was a shell of a person, not her actual mother. She fantasised about her coming back, but the doctors said no one knew how she would react to the treatment. The doctors and nurses, as well as Alice and her dad themselves, did absolutely anything they could to wake her up. She spent long hours reading stories to her, hoping that something would penetrate. And finally, on one glorious day, Alice noticed that as she was reading, her mother’s eyes moved in her direction as if she could hear her. It was a miracle! She ran out of the ward shouting with happiness. The doctors said it was good news because it meant that some of her damaged brain cells were being restored, and from that moment on they could start active rehabilitation. They also performed a brain scan and confirmed that there were regions in her brain that were now reacting to stimuli. Alice and her dad arranged a party to celebrate. It may seem foolish, but Alice was sure that her mom would get better in no time at all now that her brain had woken up. They attended physical rehab, where nurses moved her limbs here and there, and she underwent some strange electro-therapies or something like that. In fact, her treatment lasted round the clock. She did respond, but she still couldn’t talk, didn’t recognize her family, didn’t react. And suddenly, all the hope Alice had felt left her. She realized that her mom wouldn’t be coming back. To this day, she remembers the exact moment when this realisation came to her – she took her to a room with a projector and showed her their family videos. And as Alice was watching the old clips of them all happy – and her looking healthy – on the screen, it was the first time since the accident had happened that she started crying, and she gripped her mom’s hand. So that’s why Alice feels so tired. Of course, she’s never lost hope. And she never will. But one part of her knows that her mom will never be the same again, and this understanding tears her up inside. She sometimes imagines that her mom has just gone away for a vacation to some beautiful island, and is still enjoying her life. Alice just wishes that she could be there with her. It would also be nice if you could subscribe to the channel and share her story, so that maybe someone who has had a similar experience could share it with her.

My Teacher Bullied Me. I REVENGED!
Story By Mark | Subscribe our channel: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j When you hear the word “bullying”, the first thing you probably think of are cruel school kids who make someone’s life impossible. This is not what happened with Mark; fortunately, all was good with his classmates. Instead, he was the victim of bullying on the part of his teacher. Can you imagine? A TEACHER. He experienced a great deal of unpleasant moments, and he’d like to share with you how he managed to overcome this problem. Mark was a senior in high school at the time. He was a solid C student in math, having struggled with it throughout his school years. He’d always liked math though, and was eager to know more, which is why he usually posed a lot of questions to the teacher during lessons. Last year he ended up with a new teacher, Ms. Roberts, who was known locally as a genius at math. She was also infamous as a heartless and nasty woman, but Mark thought this wasn’t something to be worried about. Anyway, he took up her classes in the hope that he could improve his math grades given that she was so good. The initial lessons went alright; Mark was his usual enthusiastic self, asking lots of questions. Maybe they were somewhat dumb ones, but hey, as far as he understood it, any teacher would be glad to help such an interested student. Sure…it didn’t take long for her to come up with phrases like "And here comes the slow boy again", "Surprise-surprise, you don't understand it again", "Do we have to go extra slow for you today?" In front of everyone! And everyone laughed. For some reason, Mark became a real red flag for her. Every single lesson he was at the receiving end of new creative insults from Ms. Roberts. He certainly wasn’t the best student there, but he wasn’t the worst one either, and he was never able to understand where such contempt for him came from. You might say that Mark should have just taken a deep breath and kept his cool for a couple of semesters. The problem was that with those math lessons several days a week, it was getting harder and harder for Mark to drag himself to school every day. So he tried to solve the problem on his own by trying to act very friendly and calm towards her. It backfired and she became even nastier. Alright, time for plan B, he thought. He decided to confront her directly by asking: “Ms. Roberts, could you stop insulting me in front of the whole class?” All he got in response was “I don’t know what you’re talking about. And by the way, I wouldn’t expect a C at the end of the year if I were you”. That required extreme measures. He went to see the school principal about the problem, who sent someone in to examine her during class. She acted respectful and normal for one day, and then went back to bullying him with twice the enthusiasm. That was enough. Mark went to the local radioshack, bought a recorder, and secretly taped every insult she threw at him for the rest of the school year. One day, he asked her a question during class. Her response even now is still burnt into his brain: "I've been teaching for over 10 years and that was the single dumbest question I've ever heard from anyone." She continued the lesson without answering. Mark calmly stood up, packed up his stuff, and headed to the nurse’s office to dismiss himself from school. He went home and compiled all of the brutal tapes he’d recorded into one glorious masterpiece. The next day, he went to see the principal, and they listened to only a couple of the insults before he stopped the tape. He wanted more witnesses present, as well as Ms. Roberts. So he collected board directors, the local school police officer, the vice principal and Ms. Roberts herself. What followed were some of the greatest minutes of Mark’s life. He watched as the administrators went from fed up with being in another useless meeting to furious and speechless, with some of them keeping their mouths open for the duration of the tape. He also observed Ms. Roberts go from being confident and stuck-up to realizing how much she had screwed up her life and career. She was publicly roasting herself in front of the most important people from the district. The tape finished, the administrators looked around in astonishment, and Mark was asked to leave the room. The final time he saw Ms. Roberts was when she was leaving the boardroom, in a state he’d never seen her in before. Mark looked back, and they made eye contact as he gave her biggest most and most mischievous smile. After that, Ms. Roberts was nowhere to be seen. The news soon spread quickly throughout the school, and he earned the reputation of a saint. He later learned that not only was she fired, but now no school district in the area would hire this outstanding educator. Mark felt very pleased, and not only for himself. Now he knew that that woman wouldn’t poison any other student’s life, at least for the time being.
My Dad Went To Las Vegas And Came Back Married
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi! My name is Mark. We all know how alcohol can harm the human body and mind. But very few know that several extra shots can lead to… a new wife. This is what my story is about. Of course I am not the main character of this story – I'm only 17 years old. The main character of the story is my father. You see… oh, it's going to be a very sad story. I had a happy family once: my father, my mother, my little sister Jenny, and me. Jenny is still a little kid, she's only 6 years old. But when Jenny was just learning how to walk, our mother died. It was just… she got seriously ill after she gave birth and she never fully recovered. I don't want to talk about that any more, if that's okay? My father was… empty. He loved our mother so much, and now he had to learn how to live without her. In fact, all of us had to. Five years passed, and life went on. Together my father and I were raising our little princess Jenny. And things were getting better. The only thing was that my father decided that he wasn’t going to look for a new wife. He decided to dedicate his life to his kids and his work, in order to give Jenny and me a decent life. I was pretty skeptical about it, but every year my father’s odds of meeting a good woman faded. Well, you see, Dad was never a handsome man and as he grew older, it became more and more obvious that he was short, wide, and that less and less hair was left on his head. How lucky am I that I resemble my mom more than him? My father was living a closed-off life, from home to work, from work to home, with rare visits to the mall. Not much action, right? It would have gone on further if not for the anniversary of the company where he worked. The owners decided to celebrate it in a big way, throwing a party in Las Vegas. A fashionable hotel with bright and exciting shows, a casino, slot machines, noisy bars… I think you know what I mean. I don’t because I'm under age, but it sounds really cool. Apparently my father would have liked to avoid all these festivities, but since he wasn't the only person in the company, both of his bosses and the people who reported to him would have looked at him suspiciously. So he had to go. Also, I had absolutely no objection to my father relaxing a little and I volunteered to look after Jenny for the whole weekend. I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary from this weekend and was totally unprepared for any surprises on Monday. The surprise’s name was Lola. And she was a fresh, newly discovered step-mother for Jenny and I. Yep, you heard me. The new wife of my humble and quiet father. Sound crazy? Trust me, that was exactly how I felt on that early Monday morning, when I woke up from my deep sleep on the sofa in the living room to a terrible... well, maybe I should say, to a high-pitched voice. I opened my eyes and… What was I seeing?" "Lola looked… striking! So striking, that at the beginning, I did not even notice that my father was also in the room. It seemed like she was taller than him. Lola was in her forties, but obviously trying to look younger. She wore a lot of make-up, long bleached hair and tight clothes, emphasizing her curves. And, hmmm, there were curves to emphasize. So, while I was sleepily listening to her chirping, the only thing I could think of at first was: where did she get all the money for her plastic surgery from? As I learned before I even got up, Lola was a waitress at one the bars in Las Vegas. At the same bar where a big part of my father’s company anniversary celebration was held. About five minutes after we first met, this woman was suddenly grabbing my cheek with her long-nailed hand and starting to pinch it, saying something like: “Oh, my poor boy, now your new Mommy will take care of you! After that the “new Mommy” got all excited about “where our little Jenny” was and without waiting for an answer, she ran upstairs looking for the toddler's room. My father understood from my big, round eyes and open mouth, that it would be better if he explained everything right away. Unfortunately, the part about our “new mother” was true – my father had really married Lola on the night of the celebration, after he drank way too much - and he was not used to drinking at all. And according to the laws of the state of Nevada, this marriage was legal. Absolutely legal. In addition, my father could not send Lola back to her bar, because of his honesty, his conscience, and his memory…. he blacked out. He had been so drunk that night that he couldn't honestly say that it was not HIM who insisted on the marriage. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
My Classmates Used Me To Do Their Homework
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Clara, and this is a story about how she learned to say “no” to people! Clara had always been a hard-working student. Her classmates knew this well, and they frequently asked for her help. She didn’t mind doing so – in fact she was happy to! Sometimes they asked to copy her homework or help with a test, and she said yes, because she always thought that you should help your friends. The only problem was that they didn’t see her as their friend! Her class had several groups of friends who regularly hung out together, but none of them even invited her to meet up with them. And even if they organized a big party, they usually “forgot” to invite her. Understandably, this bothered Clara, because at school at least half of her classmates asked her to help them one way or another during the day. As soon as they’d finished, however, they were gone – and didn’t even want to talk to her. And then when a group project came along, everybody would try to be in the same group with her but they wouldn’t do anything for the project, letting her to do everything but still getting a good grade. She still kept on helping them though, because she thought that one day they would see just how useful she was to them and never said “no”, but that day never came. In fact, the opposite happened – her classmates noticed and talked to her less and less. Clara then thought to herself, “Maybe if I politely explain my point of view, they’ll understand!” So the next time the most popular guy in her class, Jack, asked her to do his homework for him, she said “hey Jack, I think you should try doing it yourself, because I don’t have time for it today.” She thought it would work, but he started trying to force her to do his homework for him by saying things like “come on, Clara, don’t be like that, we’re friends, right?” She wanted to say no, but instead, she ended up doing his homework for him. She desperately wanted to stand up to them, she couldn’t go to a teacher, because that would mean she was a snitch. So she kept on doing tasks for them. One day, they had a group assignment to do, and of course, Jack was the first to raise his hand to be with her – and Clara, again, couldn’t say no. It seemed that Jack assumed she would just do everything herself, so he didn’t even bother to talk to her about the assignment. But this time she really didn’t want to do all of the work, because she had a lot of other assignments, and well...it was meant to be done by two! So she texted Jack, because it was easier than talking to him in person. She said that he should do 50 percent of the work because she wouldn’t be able to do it alone. He texted “ok”, and she was happy. But it turned out to be all a lie, because the next day he came up to her and said “hey, I’ve been really busy lately and I can’t work on the project, can you help?” At first I said “Jack, I'm also busy...”, but he kept saying “please, please” every time she objected, so she agreed. AGAIN! Then, the next Friday evening, she saw Jack’s photos from social media, and he had been partying! And by that time she had already done her half of the project, and they had to present it by Tuesday, so she wrote to Jack that it was unfair to her and that he should finish his half. She then sent him what she had already done. He read the message but didn’t answer. Monday came, and Jack told her: “sorry, I didn’t have any time to do the project, can you do it?” She really wanted to say yes, but she controlled herself and finally said “no”. He started to say that she had promised and that it wasn’t fair, and though it was scary, she managed to say “no” again! He then got angry and insulted her, but she just kept saying “no”. In the end, he said “you know that we’ll fail the project if you don’t do it?”, and she just said “yes”. Then when he walked away, he said once more that she ought to do it. Tuesday came, and Clara hadn’t done Jack’s half out of principle, though he was really sure she had – although she didn’t understand why, because she had said “no” to him multiple times! She presented her half and Jack was sitting there, getting a bit nervous. She then said “now it’s Jack’s turn”. He got up to present, made a few sounds like “uhm...mmm…”. The teacher was looking at him, very annoyed, and some classmates who didn’t like Jack giggled. They got a bad grade, but it was worth it, because Clara had finally stood up for herself and learned to say “no”. Jack was super angry at her, but some other guys and girls actually came to her and said that it was kinda cool (they realized she’d done it on purpose). It turned out that a lot of people disliked Jack, because he was very pushy and full of himself. After that, it was a bit easier to say “no” to others. She still helps those who appreciate it, but never people who treat her without any respect! Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hey! My name’s John. And I have a girlfriend - Trisha. Sometimes she drives me crazy with her explosive temper and uncontrolled jealousy. But she is, you know, very special to me. Recently I did one thing that made her stop talking to me. Here's what happened. Trisha and I have so much in common. And since we go to the same school, we have common friends and spend almost all of our free time together. We argue pretty often and I've sort of already gotten used to it and everybody around us doesn't even pay attention to our little fights anymore. I’ll give you an example. Once, she got upset by the fact that I still hadn’t approved her friend request on Facebook. She said, like, we’ve been together for a few months, and she thought I might have been hiding something from her. I tried to explain that I don’t use Facebook that much and when I do, I just look around for some news while not even paying attention to friend requests. But since it was that important to her, I went in and accepted her request. The next day she got so dramatic because of every single girl on my Facebook friend list. At first I tried to calm her down explaining that this girl was my distant relative, and that one was my mom’s friend’s daughter, but you know, at some point I also lost my patience and we were just like yelling at each other. I ended up deleting my account hoping to avoid any drama in the future. For the next couple of weeks Trisha and I were great. We hadn’t had a single argument. Then, one day she came up to me totally excited and, as they say, with fire in her eyes. She started talking a mile a minute about bloggers on Instagram, showing me their profiles, and saying something about monetization or whatever. When she was done talking I finally understood that she was going to try to become a blogger herself. I knew nothing about blogging, honestly speaking, but according to Trisha it could become an interesting hobby, so “why not,” I thought. At least she’ll be busy with something. Nothing bothered me at first. It was even funny, for example, to make a nice joke and then see how many people liked it. But, you know, the farther into the forest… From time to time it was really irritating and annoying when almost every one of our common moves, be it walking or talking, was turned into a video shoot, and then uploaded. Trisha’s major dream at that time was to go viral, but she hadn’t managed to get enough subscribers yet. Soon after her first few tries as a blogger, her temper returned. The cornerstone in this story was our anniversary night. It was our first year together and I really badly wanted to surprise my girlfriend, so I bought her that famous Pandora bracelet, a nice bouquet of flowers, and booked a table at our favorite café. I was really inspired, waiting for her to come and see what I’d done, but when she showed up, she was holding her cellphone so that I understood she was broadcasting the moment for her subscribers. I didn’t ruin the evening, but I was far from being happy with being live on Instagram. I gave her my present, trying to keep up. Then she opened the present, showed it to her Insta-public and then, instead of giving me a thank-you-kiss she continued talking to her front-facing camera. That was it. I’ve never felt that humiliated, neglected, and furious at her before. Now it was my turn to get hysterical. I shouted at her, saying some offensive stuff like she was far from being a good blogger since she was bad at everything and didn't even have any interesting topics to talk about. You know, words were just flying out of my mouth by themselves, and I wasn’t even thinking about their true meaning. At the end of my passionate and offensive speech I grabbed her phone out of her hands and threw it on the floor. She cried and ran away, not even taking the present I gave her. Everybody else in the restaurant began whispering. Of course, at that point, I seemed to be a monster to them. But it wasn't their lives that were constantly being shown to the public. I kept re-thinking about that episode over and over for the rest of that day and even the day after. Even though I wasn’t a hundred percent the one to be blamed, I knew I was certainly the one that needed to take the first step and apologize. At least I owed Trish a new phone, you know. It took my whole savings to buy her a new one and all my will to go to her house and make up with her. I still felt I was right by being mad at her behavior that night, but I had to say it was my entire fault. She was happy that I’d come over and that I bought her a new phone, so we were great again. Later that day I decided to open my Facebook account again... Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
I Found A Strange Device In My Bag. My Mom Spies On Me!

My name is Jonah, I’m fifteen and here’s my story. I think I already know what to expect in the comments, so first of all – yes, I made some mistakes while all of this was happening. I can’t deny that. I live with my mom, and it has been like this for a couple of years, since my parents divorced. My dad moved to a place that his parents left him about 50 miles away from us. And I have always been fine with that – not that I love mom more, it just seemed to be the best option for everyone. My mom had a hard time with this psychologically at first, being really really overprotective and controlling me too much, but over time it got better. She still needs to know where I am during the day, and I'm OK with that, it’s way better than what we had before. It's sort of a compromise. But she still gets nervous if I forget about my phone for a while or change my plans. I know this is not normal for a parent, but, first – we are working on it, and second – I’ve heard about cases that are much worse than this. So this story began with a lie. I told my mom I’d be at school for the afternoon working on a school project with a couple of guys and our science teacher. But the real plan was to hang out with two of my friends at a shopping mall, like, to see a movie and so on. Yeah, I lied, since my mom thinks that hanging out like this is wasting time, and I had gotten kinda tired of these conversations. That day I forgot to charge my phone during the night. I thought I plugged it in, while I actually didn’t. Then when we were at the movies, the phone battery died. I noticed it, but I thought it would be fine, since mom thought I was doing research at school in perfect safety. After the movie we went grab a bite to eat . Meanwhile, my mom was already panicking. She texted me first, then she called, and I didn’t answer… After about an hour my mom had called our science teacher, who obviously didn’t know anything about “the project.” Then we stopped at my friend’s house, and I still didn’t bother to charge my phone… I sat down on his comfortable couch and… fell asleep. And I ended up sleeping for FOUR HOURS. So when I came home it was already dark and really late. I was expecting a disaster. My mom was in the kitchen crying, probably thinking I was dead. She must have been happy I came home, but she didn’t look like it. It WAS a disaster. And she wasn't even angry about me coming home late (well, not about at that), but at the fact that I lied about where I would be. “I can’t trust you anymore!” was a phrase she repeated probably a hundred times during that argument. After a few days the whole thing seemed to have been forgotten. And my mom didn’t even try as hard to control me as she used to! Like, she would even call less often during the day and I was totally fine with that. I was surprised, but I thought my mom was so shocked that night that it had a positive effect on her. So about two weeks after the incident, I was at school and during class I reached for my backpack to get an extra pen. My backpack has this huge pocket where I put a lot of useless stuff and I rarely open it. It’s a total mess and it’s hard to find anything in it right away. So, I’m looking for the pen that’s supposed to be there and I come across a small plastic device I’ve never seen before. And I had no idea why it was there. I googled the words and digits on the device and found out it was a GPS tracking unit. I was furious. This was just unthinkable. My mom was spying on me! My Boyfriend Is A Control Freak And He's Way Out Of Line
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Gina. Do you think it’s possible for a person to love you TOO MUCH? Well, this is EXACTLY what happened to her! She first saw Brad at school, and he was such a handsome boy with the prettiest smile she had ever seen. Every day, she would sit there hoping he would notice her, and then finally, it happened! He came over to her and asked if she was free that evening, and it was the happiest moment of her life. They went to the movies, and then for a walk in a park, and it was super romantic. Not long afterwards, they started to date, and the first few weeks were perfect – they saw each other every day, and he always told her how beautiful she was, and when they weren’t together he texted her all the time, telling her how much he loved and missed her. It was so sweet. But sometimes Gina was busy with school or seeing her friends, and during that time he would text her non-stop. One day she was doing her homework, and when she finished, she looked at her phone, and there were HUNDREDS of texts and missed calls. The first ones were like, “I love you” “I miss you,” but then it turned into things like “are you alright?” “where are you?” “why don’t you answer me?” She called Brad and said, “I’m sorry for not answering, I was busy with my homework.” He said “okay, but call me next time because I was worried.” It was quite sweet the first time, but then it happened again, and again. Each time when she wasn’t able to answer him right away, even if it was during a lesson, he started to panic. One time he even knocked on a classroom door and asked the teacher if she could come out. It was sooo embarrassing! Brad always wanted to be with Gina – like, ALL the time. He was visibly upset if she decided to spend some time with her friends instead of him. Honestly, it was kind of a turn off at this point; it’s hard to like a boy who doesn't give you any space. She told her friends about it, and they thought she was selfish because he clearly just loved her so much. Of course, they didn’t. They only got worse. He would wait for Gina to come out of class after each lesson and insisted on them always being together. At this point, even her friends realized that something was wrong. When she told him that she wanted to spend some time apart from him, he got mad and said “you don’t love me anymore!” She had to prove him wrong, so the only time she could be without him was when she was at home, and even then he still texted her constantly. The last straw for Gina was when she was talking to a boy named Johnny, a classmate, about the project they were doing together for school, and Brad came up to them, looked Johnny right in the eyes and said to him, “stop talking to her, she’s mine!” She tried to explain to Brad that he should calm down, that Johnny was just a classmate, but he wouldn’t listen and was trying to act all manly and “protect” her. Johnny got up and left, muttering “weirdo.” Gina was so embarrassed, and she said to Brad, “this is not okay, you behave like a stalker, can you please just stop!?” But he just answered: “I do it because I love you!” She didn’t know why Brad acted the way he did, but she no longer saw him as this cool, confident boy she had thought she knew before – her feelings towards him had changed. So later that day she said that she didn’t want to date him anymore. He begged her to reconsider and said he was sorry like a hundred times, and when she said “no” he got angry and implied that she liked Johnny, and that was why she was dumping him. Ugh! He texted her every day for two weeks, saying how much he missed her, and she explained over and over to him that she didn’t want to date anymore. For a few days he was silent, and she thought he must have moved on, but then… He called her and said “can you please look out your window?” She did, and saw a bunch of lit candles spelling out “I love you”. It was so awkward! She went outside and tried to explain him that he was a great guy, but she didn’t like this insane level of control. He was so upset, like he was holding back tears, and she felt so sorry for him. He said that she was his first girlfriend and he felt scared of losing her, and that’s why he acted the way he did, and he didn’t see what was happening until his older brother pointed it out to him. He asked if they could start again and promised that it would be better this time. Gina wanted to say “yes”, but she couldn’t, so she politely declined. And she felt so bad about it, like she was a bad person for refusing, but something inside of her said that all of it would just happen again. Gina thinks that a person shouldn’t be in a relationship if he or she is not comfortable in it, even if you feel sorry for someone. Brad is not a bad person, but he should have dealt with his insecurities before starting a relationship. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

Nevertheless, she still hopes that things will work out one day. Amy met her boyfriend Alex when they were both just 14. They took piano lessons with the same teacher, so they met at her house several times a month, when his class was finishing and her was about to start. They didn’t even get to know each others’ names for the first two months. But then they chatted once or twice, then they started texting each other, and quite soon she realized that she was in love! She felt that he really liked her too, so they started dating, and they both soon became convinced that they were made for each other. Amy knows there are a lot of teenagers who say that after two weeks together and often it’s not really the case. But after a couple of weeks of their relationship they didn’t even have to speak to understand how the other one felt. Amy was really sure that she had found her soulmate, and she still is. Months passed, and they spent more and more time together. Alex’s birthday is in March, and Amy’s is in April, with the dates being really close, so they turned 15 together, then 16, and…their love did not diminish. It still gets stronger and stronger every day. So about three months ago Alex...proposed to her! First she was shocked because, even though she knew that they would be together for a long long time, she’d still never expected it at that moment. But…she said yes. She knew she wanted a family with him, she just didn’t think it would be that soon. But okay, they’re both sixteen, and they’re not allowed to get married by law…so that was the first thing she said to him, still in tears of happiness. He said that now they were engaged, they’d just wait for a year and a half, prepare everything and get married the following April – the day she turned eighteen. It all sounded so beautiful. So now she’s getting closer to the problem. Amy’s parents were always totally fine with her relationship. Her mom and dad loved Alex, and they were always happy to see him in their house. The same thing was true with his parents. They’re both artists and Amy thinks they’re amazing people, and it seems that they liked her from the very beginning too. And Alex said they supported his decision to propose. But for some reason she was a bit scared to tell her parents. It took her several days to find the courage to talk to her mom about it, because, you know…she had no idea how she would react. Her mom was quite surprised of course, but she wasn’t negative. At first she thought they wanted to get married right away, but then she explained the plan to her. Deep down Amy felt that her mom was quite happy to hear all of this. She doesn’t reveal how she’s feeling very often, so she couldn’t imagine her jumping around the room, screaming with joy. But she was quite positive, and she started talking about responsibility and that she had to be certain about her true feelings…and at that moment Amy didn’t like the way she was being so rational, but now she understands that these are just the kind of things mothers say. Now Amy is sure that her Mom understands and supports her. After all, she was only twenty when she married her dad, and he was just twenty one. But they both knew he might have a hard time with the news. Her mom suggested that she talk to him about it first – you know, to get him ready. But Amy said that it was her decision and that she should talk to her dad herself. For the next week she was too scared to start the conversation. Meanwhile, she and Alex were already thinking about their guests, about the location and the ceremony, the dress…she knows that they still have a lot of time, but they want everything to be unforgettable! So one day she and her parents were having dinner, when she finally decided to reveal all. She tried to be bold and confident as she said: “Alex and I want to get married”. And then…after a long pause… her dad just laughed. He thought it was a joke! He laughed for a while, but then he looked at her mom, and realized everything was for real. He was silent for about ten seconds, but then… he just exploded. She doesn’t really want to think about it, but in short, his point was that she first ought to graduate from college, which was at least 4 years away, and over time they would see what kind of guy Alex was... she’d thought they got on really well, but obviously that had just been an illusion. “And even after college”, he shouted, “it would still be way too early!” Amy felt so bad she started crying... I Met My Secret Uncle. Now I Know Why They Hide Him From Me!
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello, I’m Ryan, and a few months ago, I found out my family’s secret that they had been hiding from me for my entire life. And this secret was... my uncle! You see, my parents are pretty... conservative in almost every way possible. They wouldn’t let me dress like I wanted to or listen to the music I liked. But I would still do it in secret! I would wear something normal in front of them and in school. Then in the evening, when I would get the chance, I would wear something cool, what my parents would call “rebellious,” and go hang out with my friends and attend a concert or something like that. I always wondered WHY I was so different from my entire family, but it turns out I wasn’t the only one! One evening, I went to a small open mic event. You know, anyone could sing or recite poetry or tell jokes. Anything you wanted to do, basically. And imagine my surprise when a man got on stage with a guitar... he was wearing really bright clothing, he had long hair, and earrings... and it was my Dad! I couldn’t believe my eyes. And then, when he started singing, my ears either! He was such a good singer, but it felt like a dream. I went up to him afterward and cautiously asked, “Dad?” He stared at me for five seconds, and his face slowly changed - his eyes widened, and a surprised smile appeared on his face. “Hello, nephew.” Whaaaat? He explained to me that he was my Father’s twin brother, Nicholas, and he was visiting our town for the first time in many years and would be staying for over a month, maybe even two. He was really happy to see me and we talked for a long time. I finally asked him why I didn’t know about him. He was hesitant and decided that it was better for me to not know. Then he gave me his contact information, for if I wanted to hang out with him later. I really wanted to find out the truth, so I decided to ask my Father the next day. But I couldn’t tell him about the concert, so I lied and said that I just saw Nick on the street. Dad got FURIOUS, like RED in the face, and he even clenched his fists. Finally saying, “Never EVER talk to him! Then Dad told me the whole story. Nick was always weird, like he would be “rebellious,” go against their parents' wishes, dress and act however he wanted. It was awkward, because it was like he was talking about me... and then he revealed the true reason why nobody ever talked about him. My uncle stole a large sum of money from my grandparents and ran away, and my Father had NEVER talked to him or seen him since then. I... couldn’t believe it. Or at least I didn’t want to. I felt like my uncle was someone who would understand me, so I wanted to hang out with him again. So the next week I went to the open mic night again, and he was there! He played some music again, and afterward I decided to ask him why he stole that money. He really didn’t want to answer me and he changed the subject. He told me a lot of stories about his life and travels and promised to teach me to play guitar until he had to leave our town again. I really didn’t want him to leave, because at this point it felt like HE was my real Father. After a week or so, I went to the open mic night again, because I really liked that place. We were walking down the street and chatting when my parents’ car arrived. My Father got out of the car, furious. I guess someone had seen us and told my parents. My father started shouting at me and dragged me into the car. Uncle Nick was just standing there, and he was a little bit scared. Then my Dad got really close to him and put his finger on Nick’s chest. He said “Keep away from my family!” As we were leaving, Uncle Nick was looking at us, with a very sad look on his face. I begged my Dad to reconsider, but he wouldn’t listen. Of course they banned me from going anywhere except to school. He also took away my phone and blocked uncle Nick on my Facebook page. He blamed Nick for my “changes” while, in fact, I had been like that for a long time already. My Dad was always angry and barely talked with me, and I felt like it wasn’t fair that they took away everything I liked and what made me “me.” I tried to express that, but my Father would just say “you will NEVER be like him!” When I was in school I tried to contact my Uncle with my friend’s phone, and he said to just leave it alone. I felt disappointed by both my Father and my Uncle. But one evening, someone rang the doorbell while we were eating. Dad opened the door... and it was uncle Nick. Dad started to shout at him and my uncle silently looked at his feet. Finally, when my Dad started to close the door, Uncle Nick loudly said, “I didn’t steal the money.” Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
My Dad Has Two Families... And We Are Not The First One!
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi. My name is Lisa, and while this story was taking place, my life went all the way to complete chaos. I mean, it's that kind of story where you question if you are who you are, and if anything you had ever known is real. And all this happened in a about week or so. I promise I'll try to remember everything correctly, sometimes all I can recall is just... emotions. I still remember pretty clearly the last day when everything was normal. It was a Sunday, and I'd spent the whole day together with my parents. My mom’s name is Melissa and my dad’s name is Tom. We had lunch at our favorite diner, went to the movies, and finished the day chilling in our front yard. We laughed so much that day, just the three of us. Then the next day my dad had to leave. It was just another trip of many. I've always known that he worked in a company with offices on both the West and East Coast. We live in California, so every other week he has had to fly to New York for 5 to 7 days. Sometimes these periods were longer, sometimes shorter. And it's been like this for years already, so I never questioned it. When he was away, mom and I would miss him a lot, of course, and look forward to him coming back. The family was not complete without him. In addition, when he was away, he was so busy, he couldn't even call us on some of the days. And he always said he missed us too, and that every day he would dream about coming home. So that time was just like any other time. He had his return ticket for a week later. Unfortunately, his birthday was during the week he would be away. The next day one of our teachers gave us an assignment to tell the class about how different government stuff works. Mrs. Jackson says she wants us to know more about adult life, so she gives us a lot of tasks that will help us years from now. I had to create a thorough report about tax returns: what are they for and how do we fill them out. I remembered seeing my dad fill those forms out a couple of days ago. He didn’t have time to file them, so he was going to do that when he got back. So, thinking that it would not be a big deal, I opened his desk drawer, where he kept all of his documents. The tax returns were there on top, so I started going through them. And here's what caught my attention. In the “dependent” column I saw several names that I'd never heard of in my life. These people had our last name, but I obviously did not know them. I did not want to jump to conclusions, but that was weird, right? When I took a closer look, I saw my name mentioned in this column twice. But... this is a really serious document! Everything was supposed to be double checked, so it could not be a mistake. Still I tried not to panic. And I did not want to tell my mom yet, because first I had to figure it out myself (my mom can get too emotional now and then). So, I thought, what if I searched these people on Facebook? At least I could get… something. I did. In fact I got a lot more than I expected. I found some of these people, not all of them, but who I did find was a girl with the same first and last name as mine. Her face looked somewhat familiar to me, and the whole situation was pretty creepy. She was a couple of years older than me. I started looking through her pictures and after tons of photos I found a picture that seemed to be taken on Christmas several years ago. There were a lot people at the table, and one of them, whose face was not fully visible, who looked very, very much like my dad about 5 years ago. I freaked out. But still managed not to panic, which was harder with every new discovery. Ironically, after all this happened, I got way more confident about me being able to think and act smart under pressure. And this time I decided to text the girl I had found, but with a lie. I pretended to be her allegedly very distant relative, who really wanted to find and get to know her family. So I asked her who the man in that picture was and what his name was. She replied really fast, saying she was glad to find a cousin that she didn't know either, and said that the man was her father and that his name was Tom. There was no doubt that it was my dad. And while I was trying to find a logical explanation (what if he left that family a long time ago and just wanted to leave it all behind?)... Lisa said: “He’ll be home from work soon, so I can ask him whatever questions you want! No, no, no, that would just ruin everything! I didn’t even consider that that might happen, but I already had another story in my head. Maybe I should be a novelist or something. So, dad had a birthday in two days. I Use Online Translator To Speak To My Dad
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello everyone. My name is Jia and I am thirteen. We all know that our parents are the first people who teach us to talk in our life. But what if I tell you that I had to use an online translator to speak to my own father? The thing is, I was actually born in China, but I moved to America many years ago, after my father tragically died in a car accident. My mom married an American, so she took me to Los Angeles where we were all a happy family together. My mom always tried to avoid any talks concerning my dad. She basically put all that behind her. This is the story that I was told until that day. Even though I was only three years old when I saw my father for the last time, I remembered him really well and I missed him. One day, when I walked out of school, I saw a man standing at the gates. He looked confused and it seemed like he was looking out for somebody. I don't know what happened to me, but my heart started to beat faster. I got up closer and our eyes met. I had no doubts at all. That was my dad! But how? And I saw that he recognized me as well! It didn't take long for me to just hang onto him. I asked him like a million questions, but he just looked at me and smiled. And then I realized that he didn't understand what I was saying. He handed me a big box and said something in Chinese, but I didn't understand a word. My mother spoke very little Chinese to me after we moved to America, so I had forgotten my native language almost completely! It was so ridiculous! My father and I haven't seen each other for so many years and when we finally met, we weren't even able to talk to each other?! Anyway, we tried to communicate with hand gestures and a translator on my phone. My broken Chinese didn't help much. What I have managed to get so far was this: My father never got into a car accident. My mother fell in love with another man, my stepfather, ran away to America, and took me with her without even letting my dad know about it. He has been trying to find us for years and finally made this long trip from China to see me. He tried to contact my mother, but she just threatened him with the police. This bitter truth knocked me out completely. My father and I exchanged phone numbers and we agreed to meet again soon. When I got home I had a complete meltdown. I asked my mother point blank why she had done that to our family. But It turned out that she was already aware that my dad had come to see me. She looked very nervous and serious. Her voice was trembling, but she said that she had done it for my own good. Mom said that my father was not a worthy man. When they lived in China, he used to spend every evening gambling. Finally, he lost his job and that was the final straw for her. She wanted to protect me and to give me a better life and she also begged me not to see him again. End of conversation! I was furious! My father's mistakes of the past didn't justify my mother's lies. I went to my room and shut the door. I opened the box my dad had given to me. There were old pictures of all of us in China. My mom, my dad, my grandma, and myself. We all looked so happy... I burst into tears. I lied in my bed and couldn't sleep. Then I texted my dad in Chinese: "I am coming to you now." I jumped out of bed and started packing. I didn't actually realize what I was doing, but then I snuck out of the window and headed to the hotel where my father was staying. When I got there, my dad was very surprised to see me. He was really worried that I had made my way there at night, all alone. After an hour of trying to break the language barrier, my father told me that he had met my mom. She offered him money to leave America and never show up again, but he had refused. He confessed that he had been neither a good father, nor a proper head of our family, but he just wanted to have the right to see his daughter, to see me. My heart sank. I never expected my mother to stoop so low and I was sure I was making the right decision. I asked my father if we could run away to China together. I wanted to see my motherland and my grandma. I was so happy when my father agreed. But we couldn't go to China by plane, because we would get caught at the airport immediately. That's why we decided to run through Mexico. But it was more than just risky, it was completely insane! My mother could find out I wasn't home at any minute and go to the police, so we had to leave as quickly as possible. We changed our clothes. I put on my father's hoodie and sunglasses, just in case, and we set off on the road. It was like something out of a movie! I Dumped My Ex And He Planned A Horrible Revenge
My name is Sonya. I’d classify this story as a story of multiple losses of mine. And some of them happened to be for the better, so to speak. Everything started a few weeks before my graduation from high school. I had been dating Nick for more than a year already. We were always together, all the time and everywhere – at school, after classes, at the gym... He even insisted that I go to all of his football practices and, obviously, I never missed a single game. I had almost totally given up hanging out with my girlfriends because, you know, Nick didn’t like it when I would go somewhere without him. But I didn’t mind. However the closer we got to graduation, the less time we were able to spend together. Final exams were also approaching. So at some point, preparing for them, sending applications to colleges, some extra time spent at school to get better grades for me, and additional training for Nick had started to become really time-consuming. He and I could no longer be together, like day and night, and this had added some major drama to my life. We also started to fight over it pretty often. Usually, I was the one to give in, while Nick just continued to act like the alpha male, so to speak. One morning I got woken up by my mom. She came in my room with her eyes full of tears and said that my great-grandma had just been admitted to the hospital with some health problems. Of course, I got really worried and we went to visit her. You might say that there was nothing surprising about it, taking into account that she was 95-years-old. But our whole family loved Nana a lot and we were pretty sure that this was going to be her last hospital trip, you know, forever. So we had to sort of start to get ready. I couldn’t help but cry when I saw her there in the hospital bed. She looked really tired and seemed to be very small, but she said she was happy that I’d come. We talked a little bit and she had asked me to do her a favor and take care of her cat Snowball while she was there at the hospital. Of course, I promised her I would do it, and I’d even decided to go and check in on him right after the hospital, when I saw Nick right at the exit door. He looked very unfriendly, if I may say so myself. I thought he’d come to support me, but he was pretty cold with me and asked me where my cellphone was. I checked my pockets and suddenly realized that I must have forgotten it at home. You know, I was nervous and sad about what had happened to Nana, and my parents kept breathing down my neck, so I’d completely forgotten about everything else. And when I'd received my regular morning text from Nick, I'd texted him back saying that I was going to hospital and rushed to see Nana. He might have thought that it was me who needed medical assistance. And since I'd left my phone at home and he couldn't reach me, he'd gotten worried and rushed to the hospital himself. I explained everything to him and said how sorry I was for making him worry. However he still seemed to be a little angry and definitely not happy. For a second I thought that he should have been more kind to me because I was about to lose my Nana, but I tried to drive these thoughts away. I had gotten used to Nick’s over aggressiveness and resentful temper somehow. Also, I was about to take my final exam in about two hours and I needed to feed granny’s cat, so, you know, I was too busy for negative thoughts. The next couple of days were a nightmare for me. I had to visit Nana, feed the cat, do some stuff for my parents, and so on. And as my bad luck would have it, my car engine was giving out, so I was constantly late everywhere I went. And Nick decided to wait until this day to show the worst of his temper. He texted me almost every hour that he was disappointed in me for something, or angry at me, or that I had forgotten about him. So, at some point, for the first time in my life I’d gotten so angry that I went down to his beloved football practice and yelled at him that we were breaking up, right in front of the whole team. I guess I will never be able to forget his dumbfounded face, full of misunderstanding and embarrassment. Because as soon as I spun on my heels and walked away, I heard everybody begin to laugh and start to mock him. And some part of me still feels that feeling of final relief and pride for myself, for having done what I’d done. It was strange, but I never thought that I was as stressed as I was about this relationship. I was driving to Nana’s place to feed the cat when my phone rang. I was sure it was Nick calling me to apologize or something, and I immediately felt a determination inside myself to tell him we were over, one more time. So this story is not one of the ones I've gotten used to telling. But it’s proof that some great stuff happens sometimes. And here is how it all played out. Around a year ago I was hanging out with some friends when I got a strange Whatsapp message from an unknown number. It had an old lady’s selfie and it said "Hello." I showed this to the guys and they said I should send a selfie back. I was in a great mood so did it. “Great smile!” — she answered — “But who is it, Jane? Your new boyfriend??” We laughed so hard at that and decided to send another message. “No, this is your new boyfriend, grandma” — we wrote. Then there was a pause. Probably because she discovered that she had messed up numbers or was shocked at our obnoxious answer. After an hour or so while I was waiting for a burger, I ended up receiving lots of emojis and texts in an apology from her. She was going to invite her friend for dinner but was having difficulties with her new phone. I said that I would have been happy to be that friend because I had no doubt that her dinner was going to be much better than mine. She immediately sent crying smiles, a photo of a baked chicken, and her exact address. But it was just too much that day and I declined her invitation. I didn’t understand it then but this was the start of our friendship. I knew that I could write to her and she would respond. Usually, we would send each other selfies or thumbs up. But the other day when I was hungry, out of money, and wandering around, she invited me to dinner [come to dinner] and I couldn’t say no. Teresa met me with a soulful smile and some pumpkin soup. Before that, I thought I hated any kind of pumpkin dish. She told me that she had been living alone since her husband’s death, but that she had lots of friends so she didn’t feel lonely. I told her that I was out of money because I was trying to save some up for a new skateboard. She told me that her grandson was going to visit her soon and that she would be very happy to introduce me to him because he was as crazy about skateboarding as I was. I told her that my parents worked long days and that I could spend my time however I wanted. She asked me if I could help her with choosing a present for her grandson. I, happy and full from a really awesome dinner, said sure. She was going to give him a ukulele, but the guy I saw in the AC/DC t-shirt (he was like this in one of her photos) didn’t seem to be a huge country music fan. So Teresa and I took a walk through the city in search of something special. First, I thought it might be embarrassing to be seen just walking around with an old woman. Teresa somehow read my mind. “Oh, boy — she said — If you see your friends, I can pretend to be blind so you can help me cross the street.” She could've been offended by this but instead, she laughed. It was then that I understood how stupid I was. That day we chose some really cool headphones for her grandson, powerful and stylish ones. She was so happy with this present that it was impossible not to envy him. But I was trying. A few weeks later, I noticed that I hadn’t heard from her for a while. And she wasn't answering her messages. So I went to her house. I found her listless and heartbroken. She said her grandson was not going to visit her: he had chosen to go off with his friends instead, for that vacation. She asked me to call her the next day or the next week because she was too sad to talk about girls and other stuff. So I went home feeling angry at the guy in the AC/DC t-shirt. How dare he make Teresa so sad? I didn’t want to leave things how they were. So in half an hour, I was knocking at Teresa’s door again. I brought her my PlayStation and lots of ice cream (I heard girls like that when they're sad). She was stunned when saw me with all this sadness-killing equipment. First, she wasn’t going to play, but then… we discovered [K.O.] that she was the real Mortal Kombat crusher! In a couple of hours she came back to life. I was very proud of that. I knew that I didn’t just help an unknown old lady, I helped my friend. We decided to make this a sort-of therapy session once a month. We named it the Fight-the-Sadness-Away Day. My parents never even noticed me coming home late, and they didn’t know the address of Teresa’s house or that I had made such a strange friend. I’m telling you this because once, when I came to Teresa’s house with my PlayStation, I found her on the floor, incapacitated. I was shocked to tears, but somehow I managed to call an ambulance. They took her to the hospital. She was unconscious and I was just sitting in the hall waiting. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
My Father Left Us... And Returned After 5 Years
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello, this is Julia, and her father left her family when she was ten...and returned five years later. How and why did it happen? It’s hard to understand it even now. But she’s going to explain it as best she can. As you can imagine given what happened, her parents’ relationship was always...difficult. Julia still remembers how, when she was a ten-year-old girl, they would argue all the time and she didn’t really understand why, because she was just a kid. But then one day, her father was just gone...he just left us and went somewhere else. She doesn’t know why, but at the time she was sure it was her fault, and for a time she cried constantly, especially when she realized he wasn’t coming back. She was angry at her mom too, but of course it wasn’t her fault. She always has been (and still is) a hard-working woman, and after her father left them, she worked two jobs just to keep them warm and fed. Five years have passed since then, and Julia had gotten used to the fact that her father wasn’t coming back. But you know, by this point things were alright. She had a good relationship with her mom. And, well...a guy from her school named Dennis had become very interested in her, and she liked his attention and liked him, although she was still a little bit scared to start dating. Basically their life had become very stable, but then one day her mom told her that her father called her and that he wanted to come over. Julia was shocked, and her mom said that if she didn’t want it to happen, they could just say “no.” But deep down, she did want to see, him and she wanted for everything to go back to normal. It was funny that even after five years she still sensed that something was NOT normal. After a few days, he showed up. It was so...weird seeing him after so many years. He was a little bit fatter and a little bit balder, but he was still her father. It was surreal! They sat down in the living room and he started to talk. He said that he had been in a very bad place when he left us. He had had problems at work and felt that he wasn’t helping them, and he’d therefore started to drink; all he’d wanted to do was run away from his problems and responsibilities. But now he wanted to come back. He wanted to correct his mistakes and promised to be a good father to Julia. Her mom really didn’t want to take him back, but Julia was so happy and she wanted to give him a second chance. So they came to an arrangement that he would live in a hotel for a few weeks and if everything went well, he would move back into their house. She was sooo happy! Her dad was actively looking for a job, and he was there every day, helping around the house, repairing stuff, even cleaning. He was a little bit reluctant to talk about the previous (what he called “dark”) five years, but he said he was not proud of whom he’d been before. He said that the worst thing about it was missing seeing Julia grow up. Even her mom started to soften up towards him a little bit. Julia was feeling so happy and confident; it seemed that her life had become so much better. In fact, she even started dating Dennis. She knew that this was a good time for it because everything in her life had started going smoothly. Basically, she stopped being scared of relationships like she was before. And Dennis was wonderful! A month or so passed, and then everything...changed. Her dad still couldn’t find a new job, and he almost stopped helping at home. He mostly watched TV and drank beer, and if her mom tried to talk some sense into him, he would get very annoyed and angry, and would say that he had tried very hard and that they should appreciate his efforts. Julia was on his side and told her mom that she shouldn’t be so mean to him. But then she came to her senses after one very awkward evening. She finally decided that it was time for Dennis to meet her parents, so they planned for him to come for dinner. At first everything went very smoothly; her mom really liked him, and well, there was a lot to like – he was a very smart and well-groomed guy. He was the opposite of her dad, in a way...and her dad noticed it. He started to make fun of Dennis, saying, “His hands are too soft, boys were different back in my day.” And he continued to make these awkward “jokes” until her mom politely said to him that it was time to stop saying those things, AND to stop drinking. Her father then got really angry at her, saying how she had ruined his life and...a lot of other really unpleasant stuff. Up to that point, Dennis had been very quiet, but when her father started to say stuff about Julia’s mom, he interrupted him and said that it was not very nice and he should stop Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
My Mom Is A Control Freak, And I Can’t Stand It Any Longer
SUBSCRIBE If you like my channel: ► https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Stan. Do you know that phrase, “big brother is watching you”? In his case, it’s “big mother is watching you”. Sounds creepy, eh? We all want to grow up, but for Stan, growing up was really urgent, because his mom was a control freak who needed to check every one of his steps. Until he started going to school, Stan didn’t even notice something was wrong with his life. His mom brought him up alone, and of course she loved him so much, always defending him from everything and being by his side. That’s normal for a toddler. But school is a time to learn to be independent, starting with small steps. He remembers his first day – you know how it often happens that kids start crying when separated from their parents for the first time? Well, there were tears - but this time, it was Stan’s mom crying, saying, “Please don’t go!”. Gosh, that was embarrassing. And from then on, his mom wanted to control every step of his life. Every day she came to take him home from school, but they didn’t drive home straightaway. She went to his teachers and asked for a daily update on his progress. It was really tiring for them. But they were very understanding for a couple of months – you know, a single mom, the only child. But eventually, they asked her to stop it. However, she still took every chance to control him. He would do his homework as they drove home, and she always stood in his bedroom watching him as he finished it off. Stan’s room didn’t even have a door, for God’s sake! When he wanted to go for a walk with the kids from the neighborhood, she would say, “I’ll come with you, but I won’t bother you, don’t worry.” And she just stayed there watching them from a distance! Needless to say, he didn’t have many friends. No one wants to be observed all the time. While he was growing up, Stan realized that this was not a case of normal parental concern. He asked his mom why he needed to be constantly observed and couldn’t get at least a bit of privacy. She answered: “Why, do you have secrets from your mommy?” The worst part was that now that he was in his early teens, Stan had his social media accounts, his smartphone, his blog. He wanted to keep them secret, but his mom managed to find them all, get the passwords and control the chats. It was so frustrating when he came home and she would start discussing the conversation he’d had yesterday with someone. He tried to rebel against it, to change the passwords and get himself a freaking door for his room, but these efforts ended with his mom being in hysterics on how dangerous the world is, that it’s full of criminals and pedophiles, and that when he grew up he would understand her. When he turned 14, the time came for drastic action. He understood that it was impossible to reason with his mom and to convince her to finally get a life. So Stan changed his tactics. He had to develop a secret life of his own, because otherwise he would have no social connections apart from his mom. For several months, it went fine; his mom was sure he was leading a perfect home-school-home life, and he was now enjoying his social life almost like any other teen. But one day, a catastrophe happened. He left his secret smartphone at home, and while he was out his mom found it, unblocked it and read everything he had there. You can’t imagine how this made him feel when he came back home. It was at that point that his mom had a sort of emotional breakdown, having seen that he had slipped out of her control. That time, Stan was grounded for good. His mom told him to stay in his room, and he couldn’t leave it even to go to the kitchen. It seems that she didn’t realize the situation had became totally crazy and very dangerous, and she was behaving like some kind of maniac. Stan understood that he had to do something. The time came to stop the rebellion and to behave like an adult. He thought about a possible solution (he had a lot of free time to think) and went to his mom to convince her to go to a family psychologist. Of course, first she said no. But he insisted, because he didn’t see any other solution, and also because this was the only way for him to leave the house. After all, she had to agree just to shut him up. It turned out that therapy was the thing that they both needed badly. His mom was reluctant, but within the first half hour she was already opening up to the doctor. Stan also had issues, but they were more a reaction to his mom’s actions. When they returned home, his mom told him all of a sudden that he was going to go back to school, and that he was even going to have a door for his room. Wow! That’s what you call a therapeutic effect. The problem is that he was not sure what was happening in her head, because now she was giving him liberty with the same enthusiasm that she had when she had kept him locked up. All he wants to do now is grow up ASAP. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
I Noticed Him In All The Pictures I Make. What Does He Want?!
I’m Patrice but my friends call me Patty. I’ve always had a dream to become popular, you know. Like a real superstar or something, so that everybody would see me and whisper “Hey, that’s the girl...” and stuff. I’ve been working so hard for my dream come true for the last year and it did come true… sort of. Everything started when I saw the first bloggers on the internet. I was amazed by their lives and their abilities, like financially I mean. For me, it seemed to be the easiest way to success and fame, so I’d decided to become a blogger myself. However, I faced my first problem as soon as I started, because I didn’t know how to blog. I would just post pretty much everything. It was like “Here I am going to school” or “Hey! Look at my lunch today” and so on. Of course, I had some followers, about 500 people I guess, but they were either my friends and family members, or some advertising accounts, so it didn’t satisfy me much. I even tried once to devote my blog to my hamster Polly, but she seemed to be a totally unsocial animal and that idea failed. Once I was sitting at home and looking through my blog page and all the posts on it. I could feel how pathetic my blogging efforts were because my photos were far from being like those I’d seen on my favorite blogger’s pages, and my texts were definitely not a philosopher’s thoughts. I had almost decided to give up my idea when I suddenly realized that somebody somehow showed up in almost every photo and video of mine that was taken at my place, except for me, of course. It was my creepy neighbor Alan who lived across the street from me. He had recently moved to the neighborhood with his parents and he was totally weird. He wore the same long sleeve shirt whenever I saw him in real life. Nobody talked to him at school, as far as I knew. Some people even thought that he had some mental and psychiatric disorders. Of course, he seemed to suddenly get caught by my camera’s lens, either appearing from around the corner or staring from his garden at me while I was taking a selfie in my own garden, but I felt strange about it. I shared my thoughts about probably being stalked by a local weirdo and that was it. My followers seemed to want to share my page with their friends or something, because I got a couple of hundred more subscribers that following week. Of course, the majority of my fans, so to speak, were from our town, but it didn’t matter – my fame had found me. Once two girls had even come up to me at the local mall to say hi and they said they knew me because of my weird neighbor. I kept posting my regular photos but this time it had turned into a quest for my followers to find a stranger in them in the comments. This excitement over me being famous lasted, for me, no more than two weeks, when I suddenly realized that my neighbor Alan had been actually stalking me. And this time, everything was done on purpose. I will give you an example. Once, I was in the kitchen trying to cook dinner when I noticed that Alan was staring at me from his window. I would think that this was a coincidence, but when I went to my bedroom and looked out the window, I once again saw him in his attic window still looking straight at me. I got a little scared and worried, but tried to calm myself down, thinking that my eyes were just playing tricks on me. And you know what? I couldn’t sleep well because of all that stuff. I had really bad nightmares that somebody was watching me, like 100 percent of the time and I had even woken up in a cold sweat a couple of times. This almost drove me completely nuts, so I decided to go and talk to this strange guy and ask him why he was stalking me. I thought he’d deny that fact, but he didn’t even try to. He told me that he noticed me trying to film every step of my life on camera, he'd gotten interested in it, and just wondered why I would want do this. But then he came across my blog page on the internet, saw my post about him, and had gotten offended. After that, he started to follow me on purpose as a sort of revenge. I don’t know why but I became really angry and started to shout at him that he had no right to do that, because he scared me a lot. Then I fired a warning shot saying that if he doesn’t stop doing what he’s been doing, I’d call the police. I turned away from him and set off for home when I heard him say that he didn’t see the difference between letting people follow you online or in real life. I entered my house so furiously, that even my mom, who was in the kitchen, noticed how nervous I was. I didn’t want to tell her the whole story so I just said that I hated that creepy guy who lives across the street from us... Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
My Mom Hasn't Spoken To Me For A Year Because I Betrayed Her
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Sam. He doesn’t feel that great about the story he’s going to tell you right now, or more precisely about the way events took a turn after he did what he did. It happened around a year ago when he was 13, and he probably should have made a different decision. Anyway, this is how it happened. Sam began to feel like his mom didn’t saw him as her little boy anymore after his twin baby sisters were born. She began expecting a lot of help from him all the time, starting with babysitting, and assisting her with house work. Of course, it’s normal to help your parents, but his mom didn’t let him do the stuff he used to do or was supposed to do at his age at all, like playing video games or hanging out with friends. She kept saying that he was a future grown-up man and that he had to start being supportive right now. Luckily, his dad thought the exact opposite. He would help Sam with the work that his mom gave him to do, and always tried to spend some extra time with him, asking him how he was doing. And he would say that mom was simply tired looking after two small babies at the same time, and promised that soon things would change. Things did indeed, when Sam’s mom took him and his sisters to her parents’ house in a town next to the city on summer vacation. He had spent almost no time with his grandparents, so he was happy to be able to go see them. His grandpa took him on fishing trips – he was an awesome fisherman, while his grandma would help his mom with the babies. After a couple of days there, his mother had almost gone back to being like she was before the twins were born. She was friendlier and nicer, and no longer forbade him from using his time however he wanted to use it. Everything was almost perfect except for one thing – his dad didn't come. He would wait for him every night, but his mom said that he had a lot of work to do. One day, it felt like she was starting to treat him like an adult again. She seemed to distance herself from Sam emotionally, and looked nervous. He was wondering what had happened, but nobody explained anything to him. Then one day he overheard his mom talking to his dad on the phone, saying she wasn’t coming back, and that all three of the children were going stay with her. She put the phone down and saw him staring at her with his eyes full of tears. She knew that this time she wasn’t going to be able to escape the conversation. Sam couldn’t believe his mom had done this to him and to their family. He was mad at her because she decided to take him away from his dad without even asking what he thought about all of it. She didn’t even let them say goodbye to each other. He was mad at his little sisters because if it wasn't for them, his mom wouldn’t have become so nervous and tired, and their family would probably have been ok. He was even mad at himself for being so stupid and not calling his dad on his own to ask whether he would come to see them. How was he supposed to start life again, without his school that he’d gotten used to, without his friends, without virtually anything he had back at home? Sam honestly doesn’t know why people say that the sad truth is better than a happy lie. His life was about to crash down all around him. Living there after their talk turned out to be torture. His mom kept insisting that he help her, but now he was offended by her more than ever, so he refused to do anything. He had become unintentionally rude with her and every interaction ended in a terrible fight, but he couldn’t help it, he was a lost cause. He remembers how once, he told her that no matter how hard her own life was, she was the only one to blame for the divorce. This made her cry. And all this time she wouldn’t let him call his dad, so he finally just grabbed the phone, dialed his number, and told him how unbearable his mom had become. As always, his dad tried to calm Sam down and support him, saying that he loved him and missed him, and that he wanted to be there next to him to give him a hug. And this forced him to make a tough decision. One night, when everybody in the house had fallen asleep, he packed up his belongings, went downstairs and called his dad, and asked him to pick him up at the bus stop nearby. At first he tried to convince him to wait until the morning, when he could come and discuss everything with him and his mom, but Sam said that he was literally about to leave the house, so he'd better hurry up. He waited for him for about an hour. But when he saw his dad, worried but happy that he had finally got to see him, his troubles seemed to disappear. The only thing he left for his mom was a text saying that he wanted to live with his father... Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
